Chapter 6 Stirring Up Trouble at the Police Station

Brandon didn't stop her and even said, "Make sure you pick out some nice stuff for yourself. Don't embarrass me, and don't ruin my night either."

Monica thought, 'What does he mean by don't ruin his night?'

They made love in Wayne, who was unconscious, but she felt quite awkward. And now, Brandon was talking about these things in front of others.

Does he want the whole world to know?

Monica snapped, "Brandon, you're so annoying!"

With that, Monica quickly walked away, her face already flushed with embarrassment.

Brandon wasn't angry, but Justin, who was sitting across from him, was stunned!

Brandon, who was usually so serious, now had such a noticeable smile on his face!

Was this Monica really that special?

Suddenly, Brandon noticed Justin's dazed expression and scolded, "What are you standing there for? Go find out Kathie!"

"Get it." Justin didn't dare to delay and quickly turned to leave.

Meanwhile, Monica usually scrimped and saved, working part-time jobs to cover not only her tuition and living expenses but also Kathie's medical bills. The best place she could afford to shop was the mall.

Seeing the clothes priced at thousands of dollars, she still felt a pang of guilt. But remembering Angelina's words, she gritted her teeth and headed to the boutique.

Monica approached the sales associate and said, "Hi, can you recommend some outfits for meeting elders?"

She usually spent her time studying and working part-time jobs. She hadn't met anyone important and didn't know what clothes were appropriate. If she chose the wrong outfit, Angelina would be furious.

The sales associate looked her up and down, seeing her plain attire, and said, "You should check out the discount section on the first floor."

Monica didn't expect the sales associate to look down on her.

If it weren't for the fact that she had to meet someone tonight, Monica wouldn't have bothered arguing with the sales associate.

Monica insisted, "I'll choose here. Don't worry about me not having money. Just recommend an outfit: clothes, shoes, and a bag."

Monica showed the sales associate the card Angelina had given her.

Seeing how serious Monica was, the sales associate believed her.

As the sales associate was about to pick out clothes for Monica, a sharp female voice came from a distance, "Isn't that Monica?"

It was Laura!

Monica couldn't suppress her anger. She turned around and saw Laura walking over with a smug look on her face.

"Aren't you supposed to be taking care of your comatose husband? What are you doing out shopping?" Laura sneered, "Well, I guess your comatose husband can't satisfy you, so you have to find some way to pass the long nights!"

If it weren't for Laura, she wouldn't have been threatened by Henry and forced to marry Brandon.

If it weren't for Laura's mother, Henry wouldn't have cheated.

If it weren't for Laura, she wouldn't be in this mess!

Monica's anger exploded. She rushed forward, grabbed Laura's hair, and slapped her hard across the face. "It's none of your business.

"Monica, how dare you hit me?" Laura went berserk. "Do you have a death wish? Let go of me right now, or I'll tell Dad, and he won't let you off!"

Monica didn't care about Henry or Laura. "Go ahead, call him." She slapped Laura again.

Laura could complain all she wanted, but Monica was determined to teach her a lesson!

Laura had only intended to humiliate Monica, but she hadn't expected Monica to be so furious and relentless.

"Monica, don't you care about your mom's life? If you still want to see her, you better stop!" Laura cried out in pain.

And this was in a mall, with so many people around. Laura had her pride too.

Monica didn't listen. This was the perfect opportunity to punish Laura.

In the end, the sales associate called the police, who came and separated them, taking them both to the station.

Laura blamed everything on Monica, but she was used to Laura's theatrics. She calmly said, "There are cameras in the mall, and we're half-sisters. This is just a family dispute. She was being sarcastic and rude to me. As her older sister, why shouldn't I discipline her? And she's so rebellious, of course, I had to teach her a lesson!"

"How dare you!" Laura was stunned by Monica's clear logic.

Laura cried to the police, "Officer, even if we're sisters, does that give her the right to hit me? You should lock her up!"

The officer slammed the table, "Watch your behavior. This is a police station, not your home."

Laura immediately fell silent.

But the officer did get one piece of information: they were indeed sisters.

The officer sternly said, "Don't waste police resources on family disputes. But even if you're sisters, you can't beat each other up like that. I'm going to notify your parents to come and get you."

As soon as the officer said that, Laura glared at Monica, "Monica, just wait. Dad won't let you off!"

Monica smirked, her expression full of mockery.

Henry coming? Perfect, she had a lot to settle with him!

Soon, Henry arrived.

He had already heard the situation from the police over the phone. Seeing Monica, his eyes were filled with rage.

Monica calmly said, "Laura insisted on being my punching bag. She chose that role herself, so it's not my fault. But since you're here, let's settle this. You need to pay for my mom's medical bills. That's your responsibility. And I want to make it clear, I'm joining the Evans Company."

Henry's face darkened, "Do you even know what your major is? With your degree, you're only fit to clean up after patients. What are you going to do at the Evans Company? Then I won't return to the Robinson family. Brandon originally wanted Laura, but you forced me into it. If I disappear, do you think the Robinson family won't come after Laura?"

Brandon calling her Monica instead of Laura showed that he knew everything.

Earlier, when Wayne was taken by the police, Angelina had shown up right after.

This meant Angelina knew everything about her and didn't expose her.

That meant, in Angelina's mind, as long as someone was willing to marry Brandon, it didn't matter who.

If she disappeared, Angelina would definitely go after Henry for another bride.

Henry didn't say anything. Just as Monica was about to speak, her phone rang.
