Chapter 8 She Is Really Unlucky
Henry's eyes blazed with anger. "Monica, you're asking for trouble!"
Monica darted toward the crowd.
This was a police station. Even if it was a family dispute, the police wouldn't just stand by and do nothing.
Henry didn't move forward.
Taking advantage of the situation, Monica pulled out her phone and called Justin.
After a while, Justin answered, "Mrs. Robinson."
Monica didn't look at Henry anymore. She explained her current situation truthfully, "Wayne's out. I'm at the police station and need help. I'll send you the address in a bit!"
Her words made Henry suspicious, but since Monica was heading straight towards the police, he couldn't do anything.
Justin immediately responded, "Mrs. Robinson, I'll be there right away."
Hearing this, Monica finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Henry didn't leave. His eyes remained fixed on Monica.
He wanted to see what Monica was up to!
After hanging up, Justin quickly reported the situation to Brandon, "Mrs. Robinson called. She said Wayne is out, and she's at the police station needing help."
Brandon, who was awake, had a cold glint in his eyes. "Go check on her and place some people around her."
He wouldn't let Wayne keep an eye on his people!
"Yes, sir." Justin responded immediately, not daring to delay.
Justin arrived at the police station as quickly as possible and respectfully approached Monica. "Mrs. Robinson."
Hearing this, Henry was utterly shocked.
Brandon was supposed to be in a coma!
Monica married into the Robinson family to bring Brandon good luck. How could the Robinson family show Monica such respect?
But the next second, Monica spoke softly, "I haven't bought any clothes yet. Take me to the mall first. Also, my dad just said I could work at the Evans Company. Since you're Brandon's assistant, you can help me with work matters, right?"
As she said this, Monica deliberately looked at Henry, whose face turned dark.
Henry thought, 'When did I ever say that? Monica is definitely doing this on purpose!'
Seeing Henry's expression, she felt triumphant. "Mr. Smith, you tell Angelina that Henry treats me very well, so she doesn't need to worry about me."
She had made her stance clear, but Henry still wanted to control her. Now, he couldn't blame her for targeting him.
"Yes, Mrs. Robinson." Justin made a gesture of invitation beside Monica.
The next second, she didn't even glance at Henry and turned to leave.
Henry's face was heavy with anger.
Laura, standing nearby, was furious. Monica was supposed to suffer in her place, so why did it seem like she was enjoying herself?
Henry chased after them and saw Monica get into a black Maybach.
A distinguished man, a luxury car, and Monica's deliberate words made everything seem so real. However, Henry remained cautious.
He made a call, "Follow Monica."
He wanted to see if Monica was setting him up!
Meanwhile, Monica left the police station, and Justin took her to a nearby mall.
To avoid misunderstandings, he watched from a distance.
Monica, having learned from Laura's tricks, directly told the sales assistant, "I need outfits for a family gathering. The elders are quite distinguished. Help me pick two sets for comparison. I need shoes and accessories too."
The sales assistant quickly picked out a black and a white dress. Monica tried them on and chose the white one.
For accessories, she picked a simple diamond necklace.
The combination was simple, elegant, and not overly extravagant.
She didn't forget Brandon's instructions. There was an adult store nearby.
Instead of going herself, why not let Justin go?
Monica approached Justin, "Mr. Robinson needs something from that store. It's inconvenient for me. Can you buy it?"
Justin looked in the direction Monica pointed and blushed.
But Monica had already spoken, and Robinson had instructed him to follow her requests.
Noticing Justin hesitate, Monica pressed her lips together and said, "You know Mr. Robinson's situation. Henry already suspects you. If you don't go, how can I use the item?"
"Yes. I'll have someone deliver it."
Justin, who had never been in a relationship, was embarrassed to buy such things.
Monica nodded, "As long as it gets done. Now let's go find him."
"Get it." Justin nodded and followed her.
They hadn't walked far when someone blocked their path.
The person, with an arrogant demeanor, said, "Monica, I've been watching you for a long time. I can't believe you're a rich man's mistress now."
Monica looked closely and recognized her colleague, Stella Saunders.
After graduating, Monica had become a doctor at a hospital but was still in her internship.
Monica felt unlucky. If it wasn't Laura causing trouble, it was her colleagues.
"Watch your behavior. I'm not a mistress." She hated being misunderstood.
Stella sneered, "If not a mistress, then what? This gentleman can't be your boyfriend, right? Do you have the ability to marry a rich man?"
Before Monica could respond, two tall bodyguards grabbed Stella.
Stella instinctively struggled and screamed but was quickly silenced.
Monica knew this was Justin's arrangement, which meant it was Brandon's arrangement.
For a moment, she didn't know how to feel. Without power or influence, no matter how hard she worked, people would still target and bully her.
But with power and influence, she could fight back.
However, Stella, after being taught a lesson by the bodyguards, wasn't satisfied and even humiliated Monica in their work group chat.
