Chapter 7 Is It Her Child?

Raymond's face went white. "What?"

He bolted upstairs like a tornado. Moments later, he came rushing back down, a child cradled in his arms.

Noah lay limp in his embrace, his tiny hands hanging lifelessly, his face ghostly pale.

Amelia had been plotting her escape.

But when she looked up and saw the child, she froze.

Her lips quivered as she whispered, "How can this kid look so much like Zoey? Could it be..."

Before anyone could react, she darted forward, blocking Raymond's path. "Who is this kid? Does he have a red birthmark on his arm? Raymond, tell me, does he have a red birthmark on his arm?"

Amelia was losing it.

Raymond, however, wasn't having any of it.

Seeing she wouldn't back down, he finally frowned and snapped, "This is none of your business. Move."

When she didn't budge, Raymond turned sharply. "Floyd, lock her up! Don't let her wander around the villa, got it?"

Without another glance at Amelia, Raymond tightened his grip on the child and hurried away.

Floyd grabbed Amelia's arm, trying to lead her away.

Amelia struggled, shouting, "Let go of me! I need to see the child! I have to know if he's mine!"

Floyd led her into a room, sighing. "Ms. Smith, please stop. Mr. Adams won't let you see him."

With that, Floyd sighed again, turned, and locked the door.

Amelia, trapped in the small, dim room, paced back and forth like a caged animal, anxious and restless.

'Why is that child here? What was wrong with him just now? Is he going to be okay?' Amelia was beside herself with worry.

Just as she was feeling lost and desperate, trying to find a way out, she heard a faint sound of the door opening.

The tightly shut door creaked open, and Zoey's cute little head cautiously peeked in. "Mommy, are you okay? Zoey's here to rescue you."

Seeing Zoey suddenly appear, Amelia exclaimed, "Zoey, what are you doing here?"

Zoey, in her sweet childlike voice, replied, "I knew Mommy was in trouble, so I came to rescue you. I saw that mean man being so fierce. Mommy, are you hurt?"

Zoey, like a little adult, moved closer to check Amelia's body.

Amelia grabbed her hand. "There's no time for that. We need to get out of here first."

Amelia urgently took Zoey's hand and tiptoed out of the room.

She had expected the place to be heavily guarded, with bodyguards everywhere.

But to her astonishment, the hallway outside was eerily quiet and empty.

She muttered in confusion, "Where is everyone? There were so many people just now."

Zoey proudly tilted her head and said, "Lucy lured them away. I also cut their surveillance wires and power lines. Am I smart?"

She pulled out her little craft scissors.

Amelia was both surprised and delighted. "That's my Zoey, you're so clever."

She ruffled Zoey's soft cheeks, and Zoey hummed proudly. "Alright, Mommy, stop talking. They'll be back soon. Let's get out of here. "

Amelia replied, "Okay, I'll get you out."

The two of them stealthily made their way through the corridor and out of the villa.

Lucy was already waiting by the roadside.

Seeing them approach, she quickly opened the car door. "Get in, quick."

They didn't waste a second and got into the car.

Before they could be discovered, Lucy drove away.

Once they reached a safe place, Lucy stopped the car and turned to Amelia. "Did Raymond do anything to you?"

But Amelia was anxiously staring at her phone.

"He didn't have the chance to do anything, but I saw someone there." Amelia's eyes reddened as she looked up. "Lucy, do you know who I saw there? "My son. My son is with him."

"

She grabbed Lucy's hand tightly.

Lucy had never seen her so distraught.

Handing her wallet to Zoey, Lucy told her to go buy a bottle of water, then turned to Amelia. "Are you sure it's your child? What if it's someone else's?"

Amelia shook her head. "No, I can't be wrong. He looks so much like Zoey. And I think I saw the birthmark on his arm."

Lucy had delivered Amelia's child and knew about the birthmark.

Lucy frowned deeply. "Do you know where the child is now? We need to find a chance to confirm."

Just then, Amelia's phone rang.

She quickly glanced at it. "I know."

Meanwhile, at the hospital.

The doctor stood solemnly before Raymond. "Noah's anorexia is clearly a psychological issue. If this continues, his health will only deteriorate. But to cure his anorexia, we must first address his psychological problems. Do you know what his psychological issue is?"

The doctor was serious.

Raymond frowned deeply.

He couldn't help but recall Noah's nightmares.

Noah had been having nightmares since he was little, but in his dreams, he only called out one word, Mommy.

Raymond had never told him about Amelia, but somehow Noah had found one of her old shirts and clung to it.

Thinking of the unpredictable, selfish Amelia, Raymond felt a wave of frustration.

But no matter how frustrated he was, she was still Noah's mother.

Right now, saving Noah was the priority.

He pulled out his phone, intending to call and check on Amelia.

As if sensing his thoughts, the phone vibrated first.

Answering the call, Floyd's frantic voice exploded in his ear, "Mr. Adams, Ms. Smith has escaped!"

Raymond was momentarily stunned, then furious. "What? She dared to escape?"

Damn, Amelia, he had been too lenient with her.

She dared to challenge his limits repeatedly.

He hung up, ready to order Amelia's capture.

But then he saw a familiar figure approaching.

It was Amelia.

Seeing Raymond, she didn't hesitate and quickly approached, her face full of worry. "Where's my child? How is he?"
