Chapter 016 So Shameless

Monica didn't even give him a glance and kept walking on her own.

Alexander lost his cool right away, his voice turning icy. "Monica, I told you to get in the car. Are you deaf?"

Monica still ignored him.

So, Alexander floored it, and the car sped off, kicking up dust.

Monica stared hard in the direction his car disappeared, and memories from years ago came flooding back. She used to wait at home every day, hoping one day he'd show her some love.

But even up until their divorce, she never saw him look back, never got a shred of his tenderness.

Now she had moved on and just wanted to stay far away from him, but here he was, back to humiliate her.

She thought angrily, 'Alexander, you better never show up in front of me again.'

In a second-floor bedroom, the kids were sitting in front of a computer, video chatting.

William had hacked into the Johnson Group's winery system and saw everything that happened at the estate today.

Daniel was initially furious, ready to defend Monica, but when he witnessed her counterattack and then saw Stella uncontrollably farting, he burst into laughter.

William and Sophia, on the other end of the video, couldn't bear to watch.

Sophia said, "Is it that funny?"

Daniel replied, "Isn't it? Sophia, do you still have that medicine? Give me more."

"Yeah, I've got something even stronger. Want to see?" Sophia grinned mischievously.

"Yes, of course, give it all to me. I want to teach that woman a lesson."

So, they started plotting again.

Only Amelia sat quietly beside them, always so silent, but she was no longer the girl who always kept her head down with unfocused eyes. Her eyes began to shine with a hint of a smile.

William stayed quiet.

"William, what are you thinking about?" Daniel looked up and saw his furrowed brow.

Sophia also looked at him and immediately understood, saying, "William, are you thinking about what happened in the elevator?"

"Elevator?" Daniel then remembered, looking excited. "Mom and Dad were in there for quite a while; something must have happened. William, get the elevator surveillance footage."

William nodded.

They saw Alexander forcibly kiss Monica in the elevator, only to be slapped by Monica. The four of them were stunned for a long time.

Amelia thought, 'Mom and Dad kissed.'

Sophia was shocked. 'Alexander is so domineering. Mom is so strong!'

William frowned. 'Alexander forced my mom.'

Daniel was disgusted. 'Dad is so shameless.'

Suddenly, they heard Monica opening the door downstairs, followed by the housekeeper Linda's voice, "Ms. Brown, welcome back."

Daniel reacted the fastest, immediately saying to the siblings in the video, "Mom's back. Let's stop here."

Sophia quickly reminded, "Don't forget about the fart thing. Mom will definitely ask Amelia, so remember to explain."

"I got it," Daniel said, quickly shutting the computer and taking Amelia's hand to leave the bedroom.

They saw Monica sitting on the sofa, looking tired, and asked Linda, "Where are William and Sophia?"

"Mom, we're here." Daniel led Amelia downstairs.

Seeing their cute little faces, Monica's anger faded a bit, and she hugged them both.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Daniel pretended to know nothing and asked. "Did someone bully you?"

"No, don't worry." Monica knew these two kids were super smart, so she didn't say much, just comforting them.

Linda handed her a glass of warm water. "Ms. Brown, have some water."

"Thanks." Monica took the glass.

Amelia noticed the injury on Monica's heel, gently touched it with her small hand, and looked up at Monica with bright eyes, as if asking if it hurt.

Monica patted her little head and smiled. "Mommy's fine, it doesn't hurt."

Daniel also saw it and called out, "Linda, bring some band-aids."

Linda brought the band-aids, and the siblings carefully applied them to Monica's heels.

Monica watched, her heart softening, and after a while, she remembered to ask, "William, Sophia, have you two ever met Stella?"

"What's up, Mom?" Daniel asked with an innocent smile, completely different from his usual bossy self.

"Have you done anything to her?"

"No," Daniel denied it seriously.

Amelia said nothing, sitting quietly at Monica's feet, her cheek resting on her leg. She looked very obedient, just like Sophia when she would act cute after pranking someone.

Daniel quickly said, "Sophia seems sleepy, Mom. I'll take her to bed."

"It's okay, Mommy will hold her to sleep." Monica picked her up, letting her sit on her lap and holding her to sleep.

Amelia happily snuggled in her arms and soon fell asleep.

Daniel also wanted to sleep next to Mommy, but as soon as he sat down beside her, Monica said, "William, Mommy will start working at the company tomorrow and will be quite busy. I've arranged a school for you and Sophia. You should go to school."

"School..." Daniel pouted, not very willing.

"I know you're both very smart, but going to school is part of your growth."

Monica had thought about this for a long time. The knowledge at their age level was too simple for them, and they didn't need to go. But besides learning from textbooks, there were experiences they should go through.

Hearing this, Daniel didn't want to upset Monica, so he agreed, "Okay, Mommy, I'll listen to you. But we just arrived in Emerald City and haven't gotten familiar with anything yet. Can we wait a bit longer?"

"Okay," Monica agreed.

On the other side, Alexander also returned to the Smith Villa.

Bertha sat on the sofa, applying nail polish, with a servant standing nearby, but there was no sign of the kids.

"Where are Daniel and Amelia?" Alexander asked.

The servant was about to speak, but Bertha looked up at him, asking coldly, "Why are you alone? Where's Stella?"

Alexander didn't answer her question, his sharp gaze turning to the servant. "Answer me, where are Daniel and Amelia?"
