Chapter 047 How Could Sophia Come up With Such A Statement?

Lakeview Bay.

Monica was having breakfast with the kids while chatting on the phone with Mason.

Preston was being discharged from the hospital the next day, so he invited her to dinner at the Smith Mansion.

But she couldn't show up empty-handed, right?

After watching her kids finish their breakfast, she started thinking about what gift to bring while heading to her room for a shower.

When she came out dressed after her shower, she was surprised to find the kids back in their old rooms.

Monica was shocked and immediately asked, "William, Sophia, why are you two in these rooms again?"

Daniel quickly figured that William and Sophia must have gone back to their own rooms after coming back earlier, but he had no clue how they explained it to Monica.

Daniel didn't want to say anything that might give them away, so he said, "We just came in to take a look."

"Really?"

"Yes!" Daniel nodded quickly.

Amelia nodded along too.

Even though their explanation seemed solid, Monica looked at Daniel, who was usually a troublemaker, and Amelia, who was usually quiet and well-behaved, and felt they were acting completely different from her calm and quiet son and her lively and active daughter. She couldn't help but frown.

What was going on?

She couldn't help but remember what Sophia had told her before, which reminded her of the two kids she had lost. Overwhelmed with emotion, she got lost in her thoughts, feeling like her kids had really come back. Monica subconsciously asked, "Babies, is it really you?"

Daniel was stunned. What was going on?

How did Monica suddenly recognize them?

Daniel reacted quickly and said, "Mommy, I need to use the bathroom."

Before Monica could respond, he quickly ran into the bathroom and hurriedly sent a message to Sophia.

His gut told him this had something to do with her.

But he didn't know that Sophia, under Alexander's watchful eye, didn't dare to take out her phone to reply.

After waiting for a while without a response, he quickly sent the message to William, explaining the situation. Then, seeing William's reply, he was stunned.

Sophia came up with this idea. Genius!

But what should he do now?

He quickly asked William.

William replied: [Can't help you, we're barely holding on here too.]

Daniel was completely at a loss.

But he couldn't stay in the bathroom forever; what about Amelia outside?

He walked out of the bathroom and saw Monica holding Amelia on the bed, tears in her eyes, asking Amelia, "Baby, tell Mommy, is it really you? Did you come back to see Mommy?"

Daniel suddenly felt a lump in his throat.

He walked over, stood in front of Monica, and wiped her tears with his small hand. His soft voice was tinged with a hint of a sob. "Mommy, don't cry."

Monica looked at him. "Tell Mommy, is it really you?"

Daniel didn't say anything.

But Monica seemed to have a feeling, she stopped asking and hugged them tightly. "Thank you, thank you for coming back to see Mommy."

She cried uncontrollably as she spoke.

Daniel and Sophia didn't know what to do in this situation. Amelia gazed at Daniel with her bright eyes, eager to spill the truth.

Daniel immediately shook his head.

Amelia nodded, indicating she understood.

Just then, a phone rang; it was Monica's phone.

But Monica seemed not to hear it, just holding them tightly.

Finally, Daniel spoke up, "Mommy, your phone is ringing."

"Oh?" Monica sniffled, somewhat dazed.

"I'll get it for you," Daniel said and ran off.

It was a call from Evelyn.

"Mommy, here." Daniel handed the phone to her.

Monica looked at his cute and obedient appearance, rubbed his little head, and then answered the call, "Evelyn, what's up?"

"I heard from Mia that you took half a day off. What's wrong, are you crying?" Evelyn noticed the hoarseness in her voice.

"No, it's nothing. Preston is getting discharged tomorrow, and I promised to go to the Smith Mansion for dinner, so I was thinking about what to buy for him."

"Oh, I see..." Evelyn thought for a moment and asked, "What does he usually like?"

"He likes collecting antiques, furniture, or some famous paintings and other art collections."

"That's perfect. I have a friend who also likes collecting. His store has many collections. I'll go with you to take a look."

"Well..." Monica hesitated, looking at her two children. She wanted to spend more time with them at home, not knowing when they might leave again.

Daniel seemed to understand her thoughts and said, "Mommy, you go ahead. Sophia and I will wait for you at home."

Monica had calmed down a lot by now. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Okay, let's find a place to meet."

"I'm free now. You wait at home, and I'll come to pick you up."

"OK!" Monica hung up the phone.

Not long after, Evelyn arrived.

Before leaving, Monica kissed the kids.

Evelyn couldn't help but chuckle. "What's going on with you guys? We're just going out to buy something, not leaving for a long time."
