Chapter 048 I Thought You Didn't Feel Pain
Monica grinned and walked off with Evelyn.
Evelyn's buddy was a guy in his forties, but he was out of the country, so Evelyn just took her along.
They chatted while shopping. After a bit, Evelyn said, "That tea set we saw earlier was quite nice."
"Yeah, it's pretty."
Monica went back, picked up the small green teapot, and felt its smooth, delicate texture. Under the light, it sparkled like it had just rained, looking more beautiful the longer she stared at it.
Monica made up her mind right away. "I'll take this one."
She was about to call the salesperson when suddenly a loud voice rang out beside her, "I'll take this one."
The voice sounded familiar to Monica.
She looked over and saw a familiar face.
After a moment, she remembered that this woman was Diana Scott, Layla's younger brother's daughter.
So, she was actually Monica's cousin.
But she had always sided with Stella.
Ten years ago, when Monica had just returned to the Brown family, Stella was scared Monica would steal the affection that was originally hers, so she made things tough for Monica in every way possible.
At first, Layla was willing to believe Monica, but Diana, who stood by Stella, spoke negatively about Monica.
Layla really loved Diana, so when Diana and Stella teamed up, Layla decisively chose to trust them.
So, Diana had a hand in Monica being rejected by her parents and ending up in her current situation.
Now, they were together again.
Stella looked at Monica, pretending to be all gentle and gracious, and greeted her. "Monica, you're here shopping too?"
Diana then recognized Monica and looked at her in disbelief. Was this confident and radiant woman the same bumpkin she used to know?
A malicious look flashed in her eyes, but unlike Stella's fake niceness, she didn't bother hiding it. She smiled maliciously and said, "It's you, Monica. No wonder you looked familiar."
Monica didn't plan to pay them any attention and directly told the salesperson, "Wrap this up for me."
"Okay." The salesperson nodded, took the tea set and packaging box from the display case, and was about to wrap it up.
Diana shouted, "Wait!"
The salesperson, not knowing what was going on, paused and looked at her.
Diana said, "I saw this tea set first. Why should it go to her? Wrap it up for me!"
The salesperson hesitated.
The items here were all unique, and in this situation, she didn't know what to do. But she could tell that these two parties had a grudge.
The salesperson had no choice but to remain silent and stand aside.
Diana looked at Monica with disdain, raised her chin, and said arrogantly, "Monica, first come, first served."
Monica immediately laughed. Before she could speak, Evelyn couldn't hold back anymore. She pulled Monica behind her, faced Diana, and said unceremoniously, "You just came in, I was here long before you."
"You were here earlier, so why didn't you buy it earlier?"
"You..."
"I think you just don't have the money to buy it, right?" Diana sneered.
"What did you..."
Evelyn was about to say something, but Monica grabbed her hand, looked at Diana, and raised the teapot with a sneer. "This teapot's in my hand now. Do you really think yelling like a lunatic will make it yours?"
Diana didn't expect Monica to be so sharp-tongued and instantly got furious. She screamed, "Are you calling me a lunatic?"
"Aren't you?" Monica laughed.
"Mind your words," Stella chimed in.
"You're Stella, right?" Evelyn turned to her, smiling but with clear disdain. "We didn't want to bother with you, but you insisted on getting close. I have a cleanliness obsession and can't stand it. I heard you, the Brown family's daughter, farted in public at the Johnson Group's party. It was so smelly that everyone wondered, how could Ms. Brown be so stinky? Do you eat crap regularly?"
Monica couldn't help but laugh.
Some other customers in the store laughed too.
After all, Stella's incident was too embarrassing and had spread throughout Emerald City.
Stella couldn't explain it, and Evelyn's words were too blunt. Stella turned red with anger.
After Evelyn finished, she fanned herself with her hand, looking disgusted. "Just the thought of it makes me feel nauseous."
"I'll kill you, you bitch!" Diana lunged at her.
But before she could touch Evelyn, Monica grabbed her wrist and coldly said, "You dare to hit my friend?"
"Monica, who do you think you are? Let go..."
Before Diana could finish her curse, Monica twisted her wrist, and Diana cried out in pain, "Monica, let go of me, or you'll regret it!"
Monica couldn't help but laugh. "You're in my hands, and you still dare to threaten me?"
She twisted Diana's wrist outward.
Diana immediately screamed, "It hurts, Monica, let go, it hurts!"
"You feel pain?" Monica snorted, "I thought you were tough as nails."
"Stella, help me," Diana couldn't bear the pain and urgently called for Stella.
Stella took a step forward, about to speak, but Evelyn blocked her way. But she spoke coldly to Diana, "If Stella can't even defend herself, how is she going to protect you?"
Stella was speechless, only able to glare venomously at Evelyn and Monica. These two bitches, one with words and one with actions, were too powerful. She and Diana were no match for them.
Monica released Diana's wrist, but as soon as she let go, she slapped Diana's face and coldly said, "Diana, people should have some self-awareness. If it weren't for the Brown family, how would the Scott family have its current status? And you dare to act arrogant in front of me? Consider this a lesson. In the future, if you see me on the street, stay far away from me, got it? Disgusting!"
If they hadn't insisted on approaching her, Monica wouldn't have bothered with them.
Evelyn handed her a tissue. "Monica, wipe your hand, don't let these two dirty it."
Monica took it, and they smiled at each other.
Diana, already beaten, didn't dare to approach again, but she kept shouting, "Monica, you bitch, how dare you hit me? I'll kill you!"
