Chapter 049 See if he wants you or us to leave

"Kill me? Let's see if you can actually pull it off," Monica sneered. Not wanting to argue anymore, she turned and handed the teapot to the salesperson. "Can you pack this up for me, please?"

"Sure, just a moment," the salesperson said, taking the teapot to the counter.

Diana was fuming. She'd been spoiled her whole life, treated like a princess by her family. No one had ever dared to hit or scold her like this. Who did Monica think she was?

Seeing all the customers staring, Diana got up from the floor and pointed at Monica, shouting, "I don't believe a broke loser like you can afford this! Do you even know where you are? Everything here costs at least a million!"

She turned to the crowd and said, "I bet you all don't know who this woman is. This is Monica, once the daughter of the Brown family in Emerald City. She's so ruthless that she pushed my sister down the stairs just to marry Alexander, the president of the Smith Group. My poor sister was supposed to marry Mr. Smith that day but had to go abroad for treatment instead. Even Monica's own parents disowned her, and her husband divorced her. Now she's here to ruin my sister and my future brother-in-law's relationship. Isn't she despicable?"

All eyes in the store turned to Monica, and people started whispering.

Seeing she had the upper hand, Diana continued, "A woman like her doesn't belong in a high-end place like this. We should kick her out right now."

"Yeah, get out!" someone shouted.

"I can't stand homewreckers," a wealthy lady said to the salesperson. "If you don't kick her out, I won't shop here again."

The salesperson was in a tough spot. They couldn't just kick out customers, but most of the people here were VIPs and hard to deal with.

The salesperson hesitated, then walked up to Monica and said awkwardly, "Ms. Brown, I think..."

"What?" Before Monica could respond, Evelyn stepped in, pulling Monica behind her. "Are you going to kick us out? Fine, call Charles, and I'll speak to him."

Charles Green was the owner of the antique store.

The salesperson was shocked. "Miss, do you know our boss?"

Evelyn snorted, not bothering to answer.

The wealthy lady next to her wasn't backing down. "So what if you know Mr. Green? I know him too. I've been a customer for years. Go ahead, call him and see who he wants out!"

Evelyn was about to snap back when Monica pulled her hand and turned to Diana, catching the smug look on her face.

Monica sneered, "Diana, ten years ago you were Stella's sidekick, and ten years later, you're still her sidekick."

Monica continued, "You say I stole Stella's man? As the legit daughter of the Brown family, the marriage between the Smith family and the Brown family was arranged by Mr. Preston Smith and my grandpa. I was just fulfilling my own marriage, so what does that have to do with Stella? Besides, do you really think the president of the Smith Group could be forced into a marriage?"

The crowd started whispering. Everyone knew Alexander wasn't the type to be pushed around.

Diana and Stella's faces turned pale. They didn't expect Monica to be so sharp-tongued all of a sudden.

They were about to speak, but Monica didn't give them a chance. "And by the way, I divorced Alexander six years ago. If Alexander and Stella were truly in love, why hasn't he married her in all this time?"

Stella's face turned beet red.

Seeing the skeptical and disdainful looks from the crowd, she trembled but tried to explain with teary eyes, "Monica, you misunderstood. I told Alexander there was no rush to get married. I always wanted to..."

Monica snorted, not even looking at her. "And about me pushing her down the stairs, how dumb would I have to be to do that at my own wedding? She's the one who set up that whole scene, pretending to fall down the stairs to frame me. But she didn't expect to end up disabled for life. That's karma. Do you have the right to slander me here?"

Monica's sharp gaze landed on Diana, emphasizing her words.

Diana was immediately cowed by her aura and couldn't speak.

Monica took the teapot from the salesperson and held it in front of Diana and Stella. "You say I can't afford it, well, I'll let you have it!"

Diana and Stella looked at each other, neither of them daring to take it.

Monica sneered, "What, can't afford it? If so..."

"We can!" Diana couldn't stand the strange looks from others and snatched the teapot from Monica's hand.

But she knew she really couldn't afford it.

Everything in this store was worth at least a million, and she only had tens of thousands of dollars in pocket money each month, maxing out her credit cards every month. She had no money to buy it.

So she held the teapot and said to Stella, "Stella, aren't you going to visit Mr. Preston Smith? I'm sure he'll love this tea set. You should buy it for him."

"I..." Stella hesitated.

Ten years ago, she could have afforded it, but after Hayden found out she wasn't a blood relative and brought Monica back, he took back her shares. Plus, she had two older brothers, and most of the Brown family's power was in their hands.

In short, Stella was favored, but it was an empty favor with no real money or power.

Monica watched her, clearly aware of her predicament.

Evelyn sneered, "What, the general manager of the Brown Group can't even afford this little thing?"
