Chapter 005 The Hypocritical Woman

Alexander didn't shy away from them. He picked up the phone right there in the private room and answered with a cool, "What's up?"

Stella's voice came through, cautious, "Alexander, have you found Daniel and Amelia?"

He didn't bother answering her question. "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now."

"Alexander, are you mad at me?" Stella's voice wavered, tears evident. "I didn't mean to. Your mom said we should've been married by now after all these years. I didn't know Daniel would overhear. It's my fault. If I knew he'd run off with Amelia, I wouldn't have gone to the Smith Villa."

Her voice echoed in the quiet room.

Sophia listened, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. She turned to William, "Is this what adults call being two-faced?"

William nodded seriously.

Even he could see through such a lame trick. He couldn't understand why Alexander was falling for it.

Joseph, standing nearby, couldn't help but laugh.

Alexander shot him a look, and he quickly shut up.

Stella, hearing the voices on the other end, asked hurriedly, "Alexander, was that Daniel and Amelia just now?"

Ignoring her question, Alexander said, "Since you know you shouldn't have gone to the Smith Villa, don't go there again. I don't want a repeat of today."

With that, he hung up, not giving Stella a chance to respond.

At the same time, William put down his bowl and stood up, his stern little face showing no emotion. But Sophia knew he was angry.

She stood up too.

Alexander rubbed his forehead, took his daughter's hand, and said gently, "Sweetie, no matter what kind of person she is, Daddy doesn't care. Just sit down and eat."

His tone was gentle but firm.

However, the siblings weren't buying it.

William said coldly, "Mr. Smith, don't think you can fool us just because we're kids. If you really didn't care about her, you wouldn't be with her knowing we don't like her."

"So what do you want?" Alexander asked.

"Cut off all contact with that woman," William demanded, not budging an inch.

"Daniel, that's enough!" Alexander's tone turned serious.

But William wasn't backing down.

He couldn't let such a troublemaker stay and hurt his siblings.

The tension in the room was thick.

Joseph quickly chimed in, "Mr. Daniel Smith, our Smith Group and the Brown Group have business dealings. Ms. Brown is the general manager of the Brown Group. It's impossible not to have any contact. Please don't make a fuss."

William still didn't back down and looked at Alexander. "What, the Smith Group can't survive without the Brown Group's cooperation? That's just an excuse! If you really can't let her go, then go ahead, we'll go find Mommy!"

With that, William held Sophia's hand and was about to leave.

While walking towards the door, she turned to Alexander and shot him a look. "Jerk!"

"Enough!" Alexander slammed his hand on the table, making the dishes clatter.

Sophia, closest to him, flinched.

Realizing he had scared his daughter, Alexander quickly softened, "Sweetie, don't be afraid. Daddy wasn't talking to you."

He turned to William, his tone sharp. "Daniel, have you had enough? I've told you, your mom is dead. Where are you going to find her? Come back here!"

Suppressing his anger, Alexander added, "I promise I'll end the project with the Brown Group ASAP and cut off all contact with Stella. Is that okay?"

William was silent for a moment. He pulled Sophia to his side, then looked at Alexander coldly, "We'll talk after you end it."

He even lied to him that Monica was dead. William was really angry and pulled Sophia to leave.

As soon as they opened the door, two bodyguards blocked their way and said in unison, "Mr. Smith, Miss Smith!"

"Get out of the way!" William said, expressionless.

The bodyguards fell silent, standing still and blocking their way.

William turned back and looked at Alexander. "Mr. Smith, what does this mean? We can't even go to the restroom?"

Alexander, too angry to speak, waved his hand. The bodyguards stepped aside.

William pulled Sophia and ran.

Joseph said, "Mr. Alexander Smith, don't you think Mr. Daniel Smith and Miss Amelia Smith are acting strange today?"

Alexander thought to himself, 'Strange? Daniel has never been normal for a day.'

He really didn't understand why his son was so rebellious, not like him at all. However, seeing his daughter gradually getting better was a good thing.

Joseph asked again, "Mr. Daniel Smith and Miss Amelia Smith went out. Do I need to send someone to follow them?"

"No need. Daniel doesn't like being followed. Just arrange for people to guard all the exits of the hotel, and don't let them slip away."

Meanwhile, Daniel and Amelia were much happier being with Monica.

Monica and Evelyn were eating and occasionally chatting about work, sometimes mentioning Alexander's name. Although Monica didn't want to bring up Alexander and always changed the subject, Daniel listened and understood something.

Daniel knew that Monica and Alexander must know each other, and judging by her expression, she must have some unspeakable matters with him. And the fact that there were two siblings who looked exactly like them as well as Amelia's inexplicable dependence on her.

All the signs made him almost certain that Monica was his mother. This feeling was so wonderful and beautiful.

So after he was full, he clung to Monica, rubbing his little head against her and calling her mommy, grinning foolishly.

Monica felt that her son was a bit silly today but didn't say anything. She asked Evelyn, "We've almost finished eating. Shall we go back? We've been on a plane all day and are indeed a bit tired."

"Alright." Evelyn then called the waiter to settle the bill.

At this moment, Amelia tugged at Daniel's sleeve without saying anything. But Daniel knew what Amelia was thinking and said to Monica, "Mommy, Evelyn, Sophia wants to go to the restroom. I'll take her."

Now he already knew the name of the girl who looked like Amelia, so he wouldn't slip up.

Monica replied, "Go ahead, be careful, and come back soon so we can go home."

"Okay!" Daniel responded.

He held Amelia's hand and walked to the restroom.

At this time, another pair of siblings had just come out of the restroom. Without notice, the two pairs of siblings bumped into each other.

Daniel and William both fell to the ground. Sophia and Amelia also bumped into each other, but Sophia, being agile, saw Amelia about to fall and quickly reached out to catch her. Only then did she notice the girl standing opposite her looked exactly like her.

"Are you Amelia?" Sophia asked.

Amelia didn't respond; she just stood there dumbfounded, curiously looking at Sophia.

On the other side, the two boys who had fallen to the ground, despite being mentally prepared, were still a bit stunned when they faced each other. It felt quite magical.

Finally, Daniel spoke first, "Are you William?"
