Chapter 064 Why Is Alexander Blind?
'That bitch!' Stella hissed, her fists clenched tight, wishing she could rip Monica apart right then and there.
Layla was pissed too, but she kept her cool. She gently nudged Alexander, "Alexander, you're not some impulsive twenty-something anymore. It's all about finding the right match now. If something's bugging you, just spill it."
Alexander just ignored her.
Thinking she was on the right track, Layla pressed on, "Is it about Daniel and Amelia? I know you love them to bits and don't want them to get hurt. But seriously, you don't need to worry. No one's gonna mess with them. Plus, Stella really likes them and will treat them like her own. You can chill about that."
In the next room, William and Sophia were sitting across from each other.
William sipped his milk calmly, but his face was ice-cold.
Sophia, on the other hand, had her arms crossed and looked ready to explode.
The private room Heath and Bertha had booked wasn't soundproof, so the kids could hear everything next door.
When Layla mentioned Stella treating them as her own, they couldn't help but laugh.
William managed to keep it together, but Sophia was already fuming. If it weren't for Stella, Amelia wouldn't have been kidnapped and ended up with autism.
If Stella married into the Smith family, she definitely wouldn't treat Daniel and Amelia well.
Daniel might be fine, as Stella may not be able to handle him, but Amelia would definitely be bullied.
Sophia couldn't let that happen again.
Timothy sat between the two kids, not really interested in the drama next door. It was Alexander's business, after all.
Right now, he was more curious about Sophia's reaction.
He leaned in closer to her with a grin, "Amelia, are you mad?"
Sophia bit her lip, staying silent.
William shot Timothy a warning look, telling him to shut up.
Timothy patted his mouth but then said, "Don't worry. They're so loud next door that they won't hear us if we talk softly."
He turned to Sophia again.
William cut in, "Timothy, you don't seem to care much about my dad. Do you actually like Stella and want my dad to marry her?"
William's tone had a dangerous edge.
Timothy quickly realized that if he didn't oppose the marriage, these two kids would see him as an enemy.
But he really didn't like Stella, who was both fake and pretentious.
He quickly assured them, "No way! I'm not blind! Stella's little tricks are obvious to a psychologist like me."
"But why is my dad blind?" William wondered. Alexander seemed smart, so why couldn't he see through Stella's act?
Timothy was sipping his coffee, and when he heard William's question, he couldn't help but spit it out.
He laughed uncontrollably, wondering what Alexander would think if he knew his son saw him that way.
Meanwhile, at CLOUD.
Monica had just wrapped up her work and was about to head home when her phone rang.
It was Michael.
She hesitated, unsure of what he wanted, but answered, "Hello, Mr. Johnson."
"Ms. Brown, care to join me for dinner?" Michael asked.
"Now?"
"Yes, now."
"Is there something you need?" Monica inquired.
Since their collaboration, Michael had rarely contacted her outside of work.
"I just think Helen's initial design draft needs a few tweaks."
"Okay, sure. Send me the location."
Monica wasn't a fan of socializing, but she never hesitated when it came to work.
Michael sent her the address: [Azure Palace Hotel, Room 9.]
Monica frowned slightly. Azure Palace Hotel again.
Since returning to the country, her first meal was at Azure Palace Hotel, where she unfortunately bumped into Alexander.
If she remembered right, Azure Palace Hotel was owned by the Smith Group.
But the location was set, and she couldn't change it. Besides, she couldn't be unlucky every time.
She grabbed her keys and drove there.
When she arrived, Michael was already waiting in the room.
"Sorry, I'm late," Monica said with a polite smile.
"You're right on time," Michael replied with a smile.
Monica nodded, took her seat, and got straight to business. "Mr. Johnson, what are your requirements? Just let me know."
