Chapter 7

Emeralds POV

I was wandering around in my dream world in a candy store. One of the few places my dad would take me to when I got a special treat as a kid. The store was a replica of the one I had been to as a kid. It’s a rainbow of different colors, very kid friendly. The outside looked like a gingerbread house, decorated with fake pieces of candy and icing. Then the inside had rows upon rows of candy. There was everything from every type of chocolate, caramel, jelly beans, rock candy, suckers, you name it. There were other store goers in my dream but they never spoke to me or anything like that.

I was just putting some rock candy in my shopping basket when I heard Jeremy’s yell, “Baby Girl!”

I grinned as I turned around to see him wearing all black from head to toe. He looked so out of place. I giggled as he came up next to me and slung an arm over my shoulders.

He tilted my head with his fingers gently under my chin to kiss me.

It felt so good. That kiss does wonders after a stressful day.

“Hello to you too.” I laughed after it ended.

“You’re in a good mood.” He said.

“Yeah, now that you’re here.” I said as he kept his arm over my shoulder as I went down another aisle.

“Hard day?” He asked.

“Yeah, you could say that.” I said waving it off.

“What happened?” Jeremy asked always knowing when I was lying or when something was bothering me.

“I didn’t get our new investor.” I said with a half shrug.

“Okay, but you have other investors though, right?” He asked me with an arch of his brow that had the piercing.

“Yes, of course so I’m not too worried about not getting this one.” I said as I went back to picking out candy.

“Why do I feel like there’s more to the story that you’re not telling me?” He asked as he took arm from around me to stand there, staring as if he could see right through me.

“Jeremy—“ I started.

“There is, isn’t there?” He asked frustrated that I wasn’t saying anything right away.

“It was no big deal. I handled it and it’s fine.” I said.

“I trust you. I do. I just want you to trust me as well.” He said with his arms crossed.

“I do. You know I do. But I also know your temper and how protective of me you are.” I said as I put some blow pops in my basket.

“I promise I won’t get upset since you already said that you handled it.” He promised as he gave me his pinky.

I giggled. Having him give me his pinky started back when we first met when I didn’t like how quick tempered he was when he became protective over me. So I started to make him give me his pinky as a promise he couldn’t get mad at me, anyone or anything that made me mad.

I took his pinky in mine.

“Let’s get some ice cream and we can sit and talk about it.” I replied as I went up to the ice cream parlor and got a cup of chocolate cake ice cream with some marshmallow topping.

I waited until he got his vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, whip cream and a cherry. We went to get a table by a window and sat down. The chairs were all swings hung from the ceiling.

After we sat down, he put his elbows on the table and leaned forward, piercing me with those green eyes, “So?”

I looked at him. His black t-shirt was pulled tight against his chest and arms. I slowly brought my eyes back up to his which were sparkling in amusement. “What?”

“You’re not getting out of that easily. I know I’m sexy but my eyes are up here.” He grinned at me.

“Oh please.” I shook my head with a wave of my hand.

“Now, quit stalling.” He said.

“Alright, the investor that came to meet with me today was creepy.” I said.

“Creepy? In what way?” Asked Jeremy on high alert.

“He was just weird. He took some of my comments as sexual innuendos. It was very odd. Even when I shook his hand he held it longer than what I liked. Then when I told him he could go, he suggested I go and have dinner with him tonight. I told him no and I wasn’t interested.” I told him.

The look on his face said it all as I ate my ice cream. If looks could kill that was his face right now. His eyes were bright with anger.

“Like I said I handled it. We’re good.” I said.

He leaned back with his arms crossed as he used one hand to run a hand through his hair. “I know, it’s just nuts. I mean, I get it you know. You’re sexy and any man that doesn’t notice is blind. But still, I don’t like it.”

“It’s okay. I appreciate you being protective but it’s okay.” I said, “I am fine no damage done.”

“You’re right.” He said running a hand through his hair.

“So can we enjoy our ice cream?” I asked.

“Yes of course.” He said.

“Oh I did find out that clubs name by the way.” I replied.

“What is it?” He asked.

“Club Matrix apparently. I have never heard of it before. Apparently Cherise said that it’s got plenty of 5 star reviews and people really like it.” I explained.

“That’s good. Thank you, I know it seems weird that I’m asking but I appreciate it.” He said finally eating his ice cream.

“I like that you know. Now if this will just keep Cherise out of my hair for awhile. Hopefully for a few weeks at least.” I said.

“This should keep her out of your hair for good.” Jeremy toasted to me with his spoon with a smile.

I laughed hitting his spoon with mine, “I wish.”

“Do you know a time that you’re going?” He asked.

“Not yet but knowing Cherise it won’t be until at least 9:30, 10 o’cock at the latest.” I said.

“Hopefully she won’t be too crazy this Friday.” He said.

“God I hope not. But she already texted me pictures of outfits that are made for clubbing that she would like to see me wearing.” I said with a roll of my eyes, “as if I can’t dress myself or something.”

He laughed, “Should I be scared?”

“You? I am scared.” I laughed.

We were quiet for a minute eating our ice cream then pulled out my phone.

“I mean like look at these.” I said showing him my phone with the pictures she sent me.

“Those are not club clothes. They look like stripper outfits.” He said.

“They are.” I groaned, “She got them from a sight called stripper.com”

“Oh my god that’s a site?” He asked astonished.

“Hey you’re as surprised as I am. I can’t believe she would actually think I would wear something like that out in public.” I rolled my eyes annoyed.

“Well I am sure you can pick something out yourself that you will like. I trust you to pick out your own clothes. I don’t think you need help.” He replied gesturing to my outfit I was wearing now. I had on flip flops, baby blue shorts and a matching tank top.

“Thank you.” I did a fake now above the table at him. “I was going to go shopping early Friday afternoon before we go.”

“Sounds like a good idea.” He said.

“Anyway how was your day?” I asked.

“Good. My dad and mom visited along with my brother.” Jeremy sighed.

“You don’t like them?” I asked in confusion. He hardly talks about his family in front of me.

“No I do. I love my family, don’t get me wrong. They’re just a bunch of busy bodies.” He said.

“Every family is.” I said, “That is including mine.”

“I guess that is true.” He said, “One day hopefully when you meet mine you will see what I am talking about.”

“One day soon? I like the sound of that.” I replied. Though I knew being a dream this would never happen.

“I am glad that didn’t scare you off.” He said as we finished up our ice cream.

“Nope, nothing scares me.” I said confused at his comment.

“Good.” He said as I finished up my ice cream.

“What’s next after this?” He asked after we paid for my stuff and threw out our ice cream containers.

“Nothing that I know of. What did you have planned?” I asked curiously.

He picked me up with ease, where I could wrap my legs around his waist and arms around his neck, all while he held my bag of goodies.

He said so only I could hear in that rough growl of his, “I was thinking with the rock candy we can try out a couple ideas I have. The rock candy is already sweet but I know what will make it even sweeter.”

I practically moaned at his words feeling my body grow wet, “Let’s try it out. Let’s do it. I’m down for it.”

“Damn where have you been all my life?” He asked as I switched it to some bed scenery real fast. I was turned on like no other. I barely had the bed there before he dropped me on it and was whisking away my clothes.

I moaned as he made a reach for the bag of goodies, “Don’t make me wait any longer.”
