Don’t want to be a stripper

Whoever said money doesn’t buy happiness is clearly fucking insane.

Because the men seated with their girls drinking thousand dollar wines right now looked nothing but happy to me.

Surprisingly they were all seated waiting for me. Yes, they were waiting for me but I didn’t want to go there. But guess what, I had nothing to do. And I had to do it because this was my last night to be here.

“Alice? Are you even listening to me right now?”

“What?” I quickly snapped back to reality greeted by Lilian who was shaking my shoulders.

“Sorry what did you say?” I asked. Lily’s my best friend, I’ve known her nearly my whole life. She was there for me when my father died and even through my mother’s sickness, she is still around.

“It’s your turn to go on the stage”, She spoke and I nodded my head sadly. “I know and am ready to go”, I retorted with a fake smile on my face.

As usual, I had my leather mini dress that barely covered anything with a sheriff clip, lace legging that was up on my long nicely shaped legs and high heeled shoes. The dressing code is unprofessional, I also know it and every time I go on that stage I always lose a piece of my dignity, but I had nothing to do.

“I have to do it for my mother”,

I shook off the sick feeling before heading to the stage. Every man in this place had his eyes on me and yet most of them had their girlfriends seated next to them.

My hands started to sweat like crazy, and I kept wiping them against my dress as I waited for the Spokesperson to introduce me.

“Introducing Alice Smith to the stage.” The spokesperson finally screamed through the mic. “The queen in this club.”

I exhaled and inhaled deeply, trying to soothe my anxiety. A song started to play, the slow sexual song pulled me on the stage. I got in position, standing next to the pole. The lights suddenly turned on, I was on full display. Everyone was cheering, growling, whistling like I was some type of dog.

I grabbed onto the pole, pulling my leg to wrap around it, swinging my whole body around, my hair fell softly against my skin. The lights flicking red to dark blue, dark blue to red.

Money started to get thrown on me, I should be happy that I’m receiving money to pay all my mother’s medical bills but it just makes me feel dirty.

The oil on my body made my hands more slippery, making it harder to hold on to the pole. I flipped my hair as I dragged my finger down my lips to my stomach. I crawled on the floor, enchanting the gullible men in front of me.

When I stood up I made eye contact with a different type of man, he wasn’t ugly nor old. He sat in the way back, in the darkness, I couldn’t see his face well but I could see his movements. This stranger held his glass of alcohol in one hand and in the other was a big cigar, I started to feel seduced by him because I could see it that he had his eyes on me.

“Give it up for Alice Smith.” The speakers started to shout, letting me know I’m done.

I pulled my glaze off of the stranger and walked off the stage, swaying my hips. I was breathing heavily and desperately in need of water, I made my way over to the bar to order something to drink. I made sure to give a little show as I leaned over the bar to reach my water bottle, my boss would be upset if I just drank water without giving the guest a show.

“Alice Smith.” Lillian whispered into my ear, calling my attention.

“What?” I chuckled as her breathe tickled my ear, she looked amazing in her school girl uniform but I could tell that none of us were happy to be here.

“A really, really, super duper rich guy wants you in room 84.” Lillian said excitedly.

I rolled my eyes, probably an old greasy man looking for a good time.

“I don’t do private rooms.” I replied.

“Get this okay, he doesn’t want sex but instead wants to talk to you” She said.

“No thanks, that’s what they all say.”

“He’s paying you one million just to go in the room, Smith we need the money.” Lily begged with her hands. She was right, we do need the money. I badly need the hospital bills and rent but not tonight.

“Lily I can’t do it. Remember I have to go at the new work place tomorrow ” I explained to her before grabbing the two most expensive wines.

“Okay but.....”,

“Let me go and take a nap. I really need it”, I cut her off in mid sentence then turned to walk out of the bar.

My intention was to get out of this place quickly but as usual it was crowded as hell. People were drinking, dancing, making out freely.

I continuously apologized and squeezed through people, being careful not to hit anyone or trip.

I was very careful in my heels not until when I stepped down the first stair of the club. Its when I felt an elbow hit my back. Though it was most likely on accident, pain shot through my entire body and it caused me to lose balance. I hit my head against someone and immediately hoped they weren’t in a bad mood.

A pair of strong arms helped me up and it was probably because I was drunk already that my vision got fuzzy. I decided to blame the goosebumps and sudden arousal on the alcohol as well.

The fragrance of this man filled my senses and it didn’t help my situation at all. I didn’t know how to describe the smell. It smelled like a perfect paradise made only for me, with a hint of masculinity to it.

He wore a black shirt that was tucked into his pants. The first button was undone and I could clearly see a hickey on his chest, lingering there. His sleeves were rolled to his elbows and the tender skin of his forearms made me gasp.

“Why were men luckier when it came to having nicer skin?”, I inwardly wondered not until when I looked up.

I immediately wished I never looked up.

I knew the face.

I knew him.

My eyes went wide in shock and fear as reality hit me hard. I couldn’t believe that I was that unlucky and that it had to happen here,

Out of all places.

The man I was looking at right now, was the owner of the company I was going to start working from tomorrow.

He just didn’t know me but I knew him. I did research about the company.

When the reality struck me, I managed to utter out an apology, “I’m terribly sorry, sir. I hope you’re okay.”

I bolted straight after then ran away.

Shit! My fucking new boss?!
