The offer

I stood there in the subway station patiently waiting for the Uber to arrive, which wasn't that big of a deal since my mind was pretty preoccupied with something else.

When I woke up this morning and I came here , I expected to be fired not to be told what Ethan Williams told me.

I had no idea this was what life had planned for me all this time. Or was it because life was tired of hearing me bitching that it figured it would throw me such a big curveball that I would be too busy with that to stop bitching for awhile, to stop stripping in the club.

What the fuck was I supposed to do with what I had just left in that office?

The money was still on my mind.

Fifty million dollars?!

Damn I worked as a stripper for some good months but I had never earned it. Never in my life have I ever earned it.

This was nuts, or maybe it was a dream and I was going to wake up pretty soon. I was sure of it. I was certain. Any time now...

Throughout the whole ride at home, I was completely lost in my thoughts not until when I reached in my apartment and sensed Lily’s presence.

She was already back from her work and I could that from the organised room and the smell of food. "Lily?" I called out before closing the door of the tiny apartment behind me, my brain already focused entirely on the food.

"I'm in the kitchen, sweetie." She yelled over the very loud itallian music playing from the stereo.

"Okay", I smiled, turning the corner to find her bent over the stove. She always played music when she was cooking alone. "That way I'm in the mood and I never get bored." She answered one day when I asked her about it.

"It smells amazing in here." I moved to the boiling pot on the stove to see what was cooking.

I was welcomed with the sight of various colored bell peppers and other vegetables marinating together which made my stomach growl; It smelled fantastic.

"I thought, since you had a crappy night yesterday, that I'd make you something to cheer you up." She told me. And if I ever had any doubt, now I knew she was the greatest of best friends.

"Thank you," I kissed her cheek as I've always done. When you knew someone for as long as I'd known lily and you were as close to them as I was she and I were, there were certain things you would do and not even think about. "But I have something madly insane to tell you."

She put the lid to the pot down, her brows furrowed in a questioning look? "Hold on, let me kill the radio real quick." I rushed into the tiny living room and turned off the music. Then I was back.

"Okay, so what is it?"

I waited for a few seconds to heighten her curiosity, watching her.

"Oh, my God, Alice. If you don't tell me. What happened at your new work place." She groaned. Seemingly frustrated. I giggled.

"Fifty. Million. Dollars."

She stared at me, looking not one bit unfazed. I cleared my throat and straightened my back. I tried again.

"I don't know how to explain everything to you",

"Go on darling don't hesitate. Did the CEO accept you to be his secretary?", She asked restlessly.

"Well no but he offered me five million dollars to carry his kid." I squealed then continued before she had time to ask any further questions. "Fifty fucking million dollars. A lot more than anything I could ever need in my life time. I would be set. I would never need of anything. I would leave this country and never come back, if I wanted to, its enough for my mother's hospital bills." And it was at that moment, while I was telling my best friend what this much money could mean, that it really truly dawned on me. I looked up just in time to see the moment she realized it as well.

"Holy shit, baby. Holy shit! It is everything. You can pay the hospital bills. You could leave. You could fucking leave this fucked up place and never have to come back. You could because you deserved it. Life gave you shit but now, now this is your big break. This is what you were waiting for. You took so much crap in life from people who never deserved you, now you deserve to be happy." Her smile was so bright that it could burn half a world. smiled. The brightest smile I had seen on her in awhile. I was crying, I knew I was because I could feel the wetness on my cheeks.

"Fuck, Lily. You right." I let out a big breath. The thought was very enticing.

"Obviously, I think there is a lot more to talk about and a lot at risk here. This is big, this is a huge decision. So you'd have to talk thoroughly about it with him and make sure you're covered." She took a deep breath and smiled softly. "But Yes, I think you should do it, treat your mom. Then leave this place. Go somewhere They would never find you." She came and sat down at the table with me, taking my hand in hers.

Lily had always been my rock and helped me in a lot of ways, but what we were talking about right now was life changing.

"Then what's going to happen for the child? Because I'm guessing if he's offering that much money, he'd want to use my eggs which makes the child mine too."

"You'd have to talk to him about all of this because I have no clue, but I'm sure all details would be revealed to you once you make your decision." She answered which actually made a lot of sense. And even though I still didn't know if I was actually going to accept this deal and go through with it, I was still excited at the prospect of having all this money which would help me significantly. I deliberately avoided thinking about the other side of the coin, the child.

Holy God. I never would have thought something like this would happen in my life.

How can I really give birth to a baby and then leave it.
