Chapter 12 Drawing Lots

"Sorry, I don't really want to stay in the east wing either. I'd prefer a room on the south side."

At this moment, Ava also spoke up.

She was a singer and needed to practice her voice every day. She had just noticed that there was a small hill and an open space if you walked a bit from the south side of the courtyard, which would be perfect and wouldn't disturb anyone.

"I also think the arrangement is a bit unreasonable. No one owes anyone anything here, and I don't want to take advantage of this."

Joseph chimed in.

People like Finn, who seem to have a strong sense of responsibility, often end up feeling self-righteous. If something happens in the next few days, she would have to tolerate it even if she didn't want to.

Concessions should always be voluntary, not forced. If it becomes forced, it's not a virtue but a flaw.

Bianca's face turned very unpleasant. Aurora's words were irrefutable, and she didn't expect everyone to agree.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it through."

She spoke with a face full of grievance, looking like she was about to cry, and her tone was even more pitiful: "I just hope you don't target Finn. He didn't mean any harm; he just misspoke while thinking of others."

"Forget it, Bianca. It's normal for you to be simple-minded and not think of these things. It's hard to explain to them. People see others as they see themselves. Let's just ignore them."

Seeing this, Finn immediately patted Bianca's shoulder with a heartbroken expression. Aurora was getting more and more excessive. It wasn't enough to target Bianca usually; now she was targeting him too. He really didn't understand why they brought her back in the first place.

"Don't act all pitiful, as if someone is deliberately bullying you. I'm just expressing my opinion. How you take it is your business."

Aurora looked at the two idiots with a face full of exasperation and rolled her eyes.

Bianca was a master at pretending to be innocent and pitiful. She used to endure it silently for the sake of the Johnson family, not wanting to argue with her.

But now that she had decided to cut ties with them, why should she endure it?

In the live stream, Bianca's fans started to defend her again.

"Aurora must be out of her mind, right? She's clearly targeting Bianca."

"Exactly, don't argue with idiots. Bianca, don't let Aurora's words get to you. She's just jealous that Finn dotes on you."

"When did Aurora become so righteous, daring to say anything? So brave."

"But I think Aurora has a point. Finn was a bit arbitrary this time."

"Where did this idiot come from, speaking up for Aurora? She's clearly overreacting. Finn was just making a suggestion, and she escalated it to a moral issue. When she was using Finn to increase her exposure and seducing him, why didn't she act all righteous? Hypocrite."

"Aurora, please leave. Stop bullying Bianca at every opportunity."

"Bianca, stay strong. Don't let Aurora affect your mood."

"I'm not an Aurora fan, and I don't know who's the idiot here."

"Aren't you the idiot? Talking nonsense with your eyes open. Bianca said she was willing to stay in the worst room. How does that affect Aurora?"

"If that's the case, then just move to the worst room. Anyone can talk."

"Why should Bianca stay in the worst room?"

"Finn, protect your Bianca and shut Aurora up."

"Aurora might be bullying Bianca on purpose to get Finn's attention and make him talk to her more."

"Aurora's sharp and mean demeanor is a bit like Leonard's, equally harsh, haha."

"I really want to see Leonard's reluctant and annoyed face when he has to choose a room."

"Exactly, I think Aurora is absolutely right. Leonard may be a guy, but everyone is equal. Why should he have to choose from the worst rooms?"

"I've liked Leonard for so long because he hates pretentious people. It's obvious that Bianca is that kind of woman."

"Finn really isn't as good as Leonard. I don't know if it's because Bianca is his sister or what, but he really thinks Bianca is an innocent little girl."

"Maybe being blind is a hereditary disease. Finn is blind, and Bianca is shameless."

The live stream was filled with all kinds of comments, clearly divided into two camps: those supporting Aurora and those criticizing her.

Besides Aurora's own fans, most of her supporters were Leonard's fans.

A large portion of his fans came from the esports community, and many others from the entertainment industry liked him because he was clear-headed, making them more rational themselves.

At this moment, the live stream comments were fiercely divided. Although the guests couldn't see them, the atmosphere in the small courtyard was still a bit heavy.

Aurora's bluntness made everyone, though silent, somewhat resentful of Finn and Bianca.

After all, no one wanted to stay in the worst room. They were all here to participate in the show, and no one wanted to live worse than others.

Finn glared at Aurora with a dark expression. It was one thing for her to target Bianca privately, but now she was being so arrogant in front of the public during a live broadcast. It was truly unreasonable.

Aurora couldn't be bothered with Bianca and Finn anymore. Before Finn could speak, she directly addressed the show's staff:

"Do you have paper and pen? I think drawing lots would be the fairest way to allocate rooms, with the order of selection based on the numbers drawn."

"What do you all think?"

After saying this, she glanced at the other guests.

Hearing this, everyone except Finn and Bianca nodded in agreement. Drawing lots was indeed the fairest.

"Of course, we have some. Just a moment."

The staff quickly brought over paper and pen and handed them to Aurora. She immediately divided an A4 sheet into six pieces and wrote the numbers 1-6 on them.

"Aren't there eight of us? Why only six pieces of paper?"

Andrew couldn't help but ask, seeing Aurora's actions.

"Aurora, you're doing this on purpose to target Bianca and me."

Finn also spoke up.

"Aurora, I know you don't like me, but you can't target Finn because of that. I don't mind staying in a worse room, but you can't be so obviously biased."

Bianca also looked at Aurora with a face full of grievance.

"Didn't you just say you were willing to stay in the worst room? Finn is also being generous. Since you both volunteered, why not let you?"

Aurora glanced indifferently at Finn and Bianca. Without waiting for their rebuttal, she rolled the six pieces of paper into balls and handed them to the others for drawing lots.

The others looked at Finn and Bianca, then at Aurora, feeling a bit hesitant and unsure whether to draw lots first.

Seeing their hesitation, Bianca felt relieved and was about to say something when Leonard stepped forward and grabbed a paper ball.

Seeing Leonard's action, Mia quickly grabbed one too, not wanting to fall behind.

Finn wanted to object, but the remaining guests also quickly grabbed a paper ball.

Aurora gave Finn a mocking look before opening her paper ball, which had the number 3 written on it.

Everyone opened their paper balls: Andrew had 1, Leonard had 2, Aurora had 3, Mia had 4, Ava had 5, and Joseph had 6.

After glancing at each other's paper balls, Aurora arranged them in order and then looked at Andrew, saying calmly:

"Dr. Anderson, you choose first."
