Chapter 3

"Compensation? The compensation you mentioned is to be like them, to be sensible, and to always give in to Bianca? Would you want this kind of compensation?"

Aurora's retort left Finn speechless, and he could only lower his head silently, a trace of anger flashing in his eyes.

He was just a child back then, and it was normal to be playful. If Aurora hadn't insisted on going out to play with him, such a thing wouldn't have happened.

Moreover, he had already apologized multiple times, but she kept bringing it up, clearly being petty.

"I know you feel wronged about this, but stop making a fuss and don't keep challenging our bottom line."

Seeing Finn's ashamed look, Michael softened his tone and continued, "Since Bianca said she doesn't want your variety show, then she doesn't want it. I'll find you some good resources as compensation. Just apologize to Mom, Dad, and Bianca, and let's put this matter to rest."

"You all are really shameless, saying such shameless things so righteously."

Aurora couldn't help but clap her hands. If she stayed any longer, she would really start cursing.

"Don't try to persuade her. If she insists on severing ties with us, then let her. If she dares to leave today, she shouldn't think about coming back. I want to see how long she can keep up this act."

Her other brother, Hayden Johnson, also said harshly. Aurora had been trying to please them in every way since she came back over a year ago. He didn't believe she really wanted to sever ties; she just wanted to get their attention. He didn't believe she would really leave.

"Can you stop thinking so highly of yourselves? Do you think everyone cares about the Johnson family's little fortune?"

Aurora said and left without looking back. The loud sound of the door closing echoed in the living room, making everyone pause for a moment.

They didn't expect her to really leave. Their expressions became somewhat strange.

"I think she's just undisciplined outside, with no manners at all. How did I give birth to such a thing?"

Sophia came to her senses and stomped her foot in anger. She even suspected if she had made a mistake with the paternity test. Bianca, who wasn't her biological child, was well-mannered, but Aurora couldn't even be half as obedient.

"Mom, let's just wait. I don't believe she really dares to leave. Let her stay outside for a few days. In the entertainment industry, where all kinds of people exist, she'll come back obediently after being bullied with no one to protect her."

Michael said through gritted teeth. If Aurora left like this and word got out, people might think he treated Aurora badly.

"Exactly. No one dares to use someone who offends the Johnson family. Let her hit a few walls and she'll realize her mistake."

Aiden agreed. He was the happiest to see Aurora leave. Without this troublemaker, the house could finally be peaceful for a few days, and Bianca wouldn't be bullied.

"Michael, Aiden, don't say that. This is my fault. If I had the ability to go on that variety show myself, Aurora wouldn't have argued with you."

Bianca said at the right moment, making everyone feel sorry for her again.

She suppressed the joy in her heart, still looking pitiful. "Let Aurora cool down. I'll apologize tomorrow. Even if I have to beg, I'll bring Aurora back. After all, she is the Johnson family's daughter."

"Apologize for what? You did nothing wrong. It's Aurora who's being petty. You don't need to apologize to her."

Sophia immediately ordered as soon as Bianca finished speaking.

"Exactly. Aurora is just taking advantage of our soft hearts. If we coax her, she'll get what she wants."

Chase said irritably, and Finn nodded in agreement. "She's just being unreasonable. Being humble to her will only make her worse. I've experienced this deeply over the past year."

Eli also nodded and patted Bianca's shoulder. "This has nothing to do with you. Just stay at the Johnson Villa. When Aurora figures it out, she'll come back. You don't need to feel guilty."

"But..."

Bianca hesitated and looked at Sophia, who also patted her hand and gently coaxed, "Listen to your dad."

Hearing this, the stone in Bianca's heart finally fell, and she nodded with a helpless look, but she was secretly delighted.

Since Aurora had left this house, she wouldn't have a chance to come back.

On the other side.

Aurora left the Johnson family's villa without any hesitation and took a taxi to Amber District.

Before being brought back to the Johnson Villa, she lived in Amber District. Fortunately, when she rented the house, she signed a three-year contract. The lease hadn't expired, and she didn't feel right breaking the contract with the landlord, so she kept the place.

She didn't take much to the Johnson Villa, and whenever she was upset, she would come over and clean the house. After working up a sweat, she would feel much better.

Back home, Aurora quickly opened the windows for ventilation, then brought a basin of water and started wiping the dust off the furniture.

The house wasn't very dirty. Just as she was about to put down the mop, her phone suddenly rang in her pocket, sounding a bit abrupt.

She took out her phone and saw the caller ID, her eyes instantly turning cold. It was Andrew Anderson.

She didn't expect that in her previous life, Andrew would also betray her.

Back then, when Finn left her at the amusement park entrance, she encountered a human trafficker and was almost abducted. Fortunately, she cleverly sought help from a passerby.

The passerby was a Taoist who saw her pitiful appearance and took her back to the Taoist temple to adopt her. Andrew's grandfather was a good friend of a Taoist, so Andrew would occasionally go to Taoist temples with his family, and they became familiar with each other.

As a child, Aurora was introverted, didn't like making friends, was self-conscious and sensitive, and often had tantrums. Andrew, a few years older, always tolerated and accommodated her.

It was through his care that she gradually walked out of her inner shadows and became more cheerful.

They grew up together until Andrew's grandfather passed away, and Andrew had to return to Emerald City with his parents, separating them.

Aurora, unwilling to part, threw herself into her studies and eventually got into a university in Emerald City through her efforts.

After graduation, she learned that Andrew had entered the entertainment industry, so she followed suit. After struggling for a while and gaining some fame, she couldn't help but confess her feelings to him.

His response was ambiguous, neither rejecting nor showing much joy.

At the time, Aurora thought he was just shy and inexperienced in love. Now she understood that if someone truly loves you, it shows in their eyes. She had been deceiving herself.

Thinking of this, Aurora suppressed her disgust and spoke unceremoniously, "What do you want?"

"Are you going to participate in a variety show in a few days?"

Andrew didn't beat around the bush and asked directly, his tone somewhat displeased, which Aurora could hear.

"Where did you hear that?"

Aurora neither confirmed nor denied it, but she didn't need to think much to know. In her previous life, Andrew also liked Bianca. Whenever it came to matters related to Bianca, he was always well-informed.
