Chapter 8

Charlotte has never imagined her first day of married life would give her such an unimaginable scandal. Most importantly, She is having a hard time with the glance of her in-laws who are thinking that she is the ex-girlfriend of her brother-in-law who abandoned her kid.

From time to time, while waiting for her brother-in-law, she is stealing a glance at her husband who is hard to read. He is calm and quiet.

But her heart sinks in deep agony when her husband didn't even look at her once. She grips her dress and inhales deeply to hold herself from crying. Now All she can do is wait for her brother-in-law who can help her out of this situation.

After two hours of hell-like waiting. A servant opens the door for the man who Enters with a poker face. But with his breathing style, he might have hurriedly come back as soon as possible.

" Brother! Why did you want to meet me so suddenly?"

Charlotte's eyes go on the man, She knows him, the famous actor who has received multiple international movie awards for his excellent acting, Andrew R. Come to think about it, R stands for Rodriguez. She never imagined it.

Edward who has been silently watching his wife, while controlling Suzy, looks at Andrew with a cold expression.

" Meet your sister-in-law, Charlotte Milestones!"

Everyone looks at Edward. They didn't expect him to say that. Shayne looks disappointed, she wanted to see how Edward questions them.

" Sister-in-law! When did you get married? And.. Wow. Hello, Sister-in-law!"

Andrew greets respectfully like he respects his brother. Mrs. Rodriguez and Shayne look at each other confused.

"He. Hello. " Charlotte wants to escape from this. So she wants her husband to ask him where he did get her photo and finish everything at once.

" So. Is this your first time meeting her, Andrew?"

Andrew frowns when his brother asked. He looks at her profoundly but excitedly steps towards Charlotte.

" No. We met before. Didn't we? Sister-in-law?"

What?! Charlotte steps back, feeling like she is losing her peace inside. She wants to run away and cry before they create some sinful scandal against her.

"So you two met. No wonder Suzy was telling us again and again that she is her mom-" Shayne got interrupted.

" Senior Charlotte. It's me. Dew. DJ Dew in faculty of Arts.."

Everyone along with Charlotte looks confused. But Andrew is explaining everything with full of excitement.

" Dew? " Charlotte tries to remember. Because of her family, She had to cut off all her relationship with her classmates. So She doesn't remember most of them.

" You forgot. Dew AKA Andrew from the Arts and Drama faculty. I used to help my friends to take photos because I was an expert at taking photos. Wait. I have some photos with me!"

Andrew is naturally friendly and agile. So, without giving any attention to him, He walks inside his bedroom and brings an old photo book.

" Here is. Look. It's me. Dew. Whenever we have a party, I always sang and danced around!"

Charlotte looks at the photo album. It's true. Not only her but also her classmates who graduated in fashion design. Everyone is here.

" Wait. Where is the photo of the reunion? That one is the best!" Andrew starts searching but stops when Edward pulls his wife towards him seeing there has no space between her and his brother.

" Is it you are searching?"

Andrew gives a cheeky smile upon seeing the photo. " It is. Isn't she beautiful in this photo? Brother you can take it since it's your wife's now!"

He winks at Edward but Edward remains calm.

" Then tell me how Suzy found my wife's photo and called her Mama?"

" Suzy?"

Andrew's eyes turn cold when he looks at her. He walks towards her" Did you again go inside my bedroom!?"

Suzy flinches and hugs her Uncle immediately. Andrew is clearly showing how much he hates her.

" Don't dare to look at her like this. Andrew! And I think it's your last chance to say who her real mother is since my wife almost was blamed for you!"

Andrew grits his teeth, walking away.

" I can't tell who she is but one thing is sure, I hate her. Only I had a chance to meet her, I would have slapped her on her pretty face just for acting like an innocent bïtch!" He says coldly but turns to Charlotte.

" Please if this girl gave you a hard time, I am sorry for this. And Take this photo album. Your friend, Aurora came to my company a few months ago. She wanted to know about your whereabouts because you didn't contact them after graduation. Maybe those photos would give you the best memories when you miss them."

Saying that He hands the photo album to her. When he decides to walk into his bedroom, Charlotte stops him.

" Can I ask you a favor?"

Andrew turns, He nods with a smile.

" I want to be Suzy's Mother and My husband as her father "

Edward looks up at Charlotte who looks determined.

" What are you talking about? You will have your kid with my son. Why are you?"

Mrs Rodriguez asked panicking. Even though everything is clear They didn't expect Charlotte to accept Suzy as her daughter.

" Even though It was a misunderstanding. But Suzy reminds me of myself a lot. Being neglected by my own family is the worst pain I have been getting from. I don't want Suzy to grow up as someone who is neglected by her father. I am sorry I may sound harsh but I am disappointed in Andrew!"

" I know but I am sorry. I don't want her. Please do whatever you want!"

Saying that Andrew leaves the hall room. Charlotte presses her lips against each other approaching her husband.

" You okay?"

Charlotte's eyes become glossy when Edward gently squeezes her hand. She thought maybe her husband would abandon her but he was by her side all the time silently.

" Come here!" Extending his left arm towards her, Edward calls her. She immediately hugs him sobbing. No matter what it was really hard for her.

" Mama? Hurt?" Suzy pats her hair. Asking with concern.

" Your Mama is tired. "

" I don't mind being her Mama, Mr. Rodriguez if you are her father!"

Sobbing on his chest, she speaks. Edward smiles slightly kissing her head.

" I am ready to be her legal father If you want!"

Everyone in the hall room smiles warmly except Shayne. Mrs. Rodriguez walks towards them with a guilty expression.

" I apologize for what we did. Charlotte. To be honest, we are disappointed in his ex-girlfriend. That's why we reacted like that. We should have waited for clear proof. I am ashamed of myself!"

Charlotte looks at her shaking her head. " it's okay. "

" Shall we have breakfast then? Madam! It's been a while since Second Young Master come back. "

The head of servants suggests. Mrs Rodriguez nods walking towards the kitchen. Shayne leaves angrily seeing Edward being sweet toward his wife.

" Sorry! I made your Pajamas dirty. Let me clean it for you!"

Charlotte notices her wet shoulder of Edward and starts panicking. Seeing her panicked, He flicks her forehead playfully.

" Can you stop doing this? Let's go to have breakfast..".

" Mama and Uncle are funny!"

" Call Uncle Dadda. Suzy!" Charlotte touches the tip of her nose.

" Dadda!" She giggles when Charlotte pinches her nose.

" Good girl. !"
