Chapter 6

Dylan arrived at his company, a mobile production firm in the city, where he was well-known and had foreign partners as well. He parked his Honda Jeep in the company parking lot and made his way into the five-story building, heading up to the third floor, where his office was located.

Once settled in his office chair, he resumed his work for the day, meeting with top partners and clients interested in his brand and the new models of his products. After finishing his tasks, Dylan relaxed in his executive black seat just as he received a phone call from Rosie Andrew. She was excited to know if Jessica had finally signed the divorce papers.

"Hello, babe. Good morning!" Rosie exclaimed on the phone.

Dylan glanced at his phone screen and replied, "Good morning, sweetheart. How was your night?"

"Not great without you here with me," Rosie shamelessly replied in a seductive voice. Dylan swallowed hard and slowly loosened his necktie to ease the tension around his neck.

He apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, but you know I can't continue to sleep outside my home, as it could ruin my reputation if my customers and fans find out."

Rosie fell silent on the line, frowning, but eventually replied, "Don’t you love me enough, Dylan? Why do you care more about your fans than me?"

"No, babe, don’t misunderstand. If I don’t resolve my marriage issue with Jessica amicably and make it clear that I’m no longer married, some fans might get angry and want to ruin my business. I can’t let that happen, especially knowing how vital Jessica has been to my business and its success," Dylan explained.

Rosie's frown deepened as she realized she didn’t truly love Dylan anymore; she simply wanted his money. She couldn’t believe Dylan had become wealthy again, bouncing back to being a billionaire after experiencing poverty.

Rosie remembered that Dylan's parents had once been rich, but his father got scammed by a foreign woman who took all their wealth, leading Dylan and his two siblings into poverty.

Rosie was young then, just 19 when Dylan's parents lost their fortune overnight, which caused Dylan's education to suffer as well.

Rosie couldn’t cope with the fact that her boyfriend of three years had suddenly become poor and could no longer afford to buy her expensive gifts. So when the opportunity arose for her to travel abroad to further her education, she didn’t hesitate to leave, failing to inform Dylan of her decision, nor did she tell him to his face that their relationship was over.

For years, Rosie pretended to love Dylan, while she moved on, sleeping with other men. She only spoke to Dylan over the phone and refused to return to the city until now.

It had been nine years since Rosie left the country—and Dylan—and their relationship. Now that Rosie was back at her parents' house, she found that her own parents were no longer wealthy either, as her father’s company had been bought by Mr. Luke Albert.

Rosie researched the billionaire who had purchased her father's company to help clear her father’s debts. She discovered that Mr. Luke Albert had two sons and one daughter. In her quest to find Mr. Luke’s sons online, Rosie stumbled upon Dylan's profile page and was shocked to see that he was married to Mr. Luke’s daughter. Dylan had become Mr. Luke's first son-in-law, while Mr. Luke's sons remained single and avoided the social crowd, steering clear of scandals and women in general.

Rosie was stunned to find out through Dylan’s profile that he was now married. She saw their wedding photo, and not only that—Dylan was now a billionaire with a multimillion-dollar company and two children.

"How is this possible?" Rosie wondered in shock, realizing that Dylan had not ended up the poor man she had thought he would become.

Without wasting any time, she copied Dylan’s company address, convinced it was best to see him in person after confirming that he was the same man she had dated ten years ago.

Rosie decided to visit Dylan at DY Group, faking her tears and crying when she entered his executive office. She accused him of cheating on her and not waiting for her return before marrying another woman, forgetting all the love they had shared.

Rosie hadn’t expected Dylan to accept her back so easily; she thought he would still love Mr. Luke Albert’s daughter more than her or their past relationship. But Dylan welcomed her with open arms, saying, "It’s not as you see it, Rosie. I still love you, but I met my wife, and she helped me become the man I am today."

"And what about me, Dylan? What about us? Our promise, the love we shared, my virginity that you took? How could you do this to me? I was hoping once I got back to the city, we would get married. How could you move on so easily, Dylan? Have you just forgotten about me?" Rosie threw a barrage of questions at him, trying to make him feel guilty for their failed relationship while she was the one who had refused to take his calls. Back then, Dylan had even asked her for some money to help him establish himself, promising to pay her back once he made a profit, but Rosie had refused, thinking, "Why should I be the one to support my man? Doesn’t he see that his peers take care of their women? Stupid man."

Rosie cried the day she visited Dylan’s office, and Dylan finally accepted her back. She gave him her new address, explaining she was no longer living at her parents' house and that she was still single.

Although Rosie had a boyfriend named Frederick Joseph, he wasn’t rich. Now that Rosie saw Dylan still loved her, she planned to take advantage of his wealth to establish Frederick instead. Rosie resented Dylan for becoming wealthy and not marrying her before Jessica.

Rosie made sure to help Dylan prepare the divorce papers, wanting to have him all to herself so it would be easy to scam him later, and no one would suspect her when she broke up with him again.

"What about the divorce papers I gave you last night, Dylan? Have you given them to Jessica to sign?" Rosie asked.

"I have given her the divorce papers, but Jessica isn't feeling well this morning. She will need some time to go through them before she can sign. By the way, why didn't you include that she should also receive 50% of my company's revenue and take care of our kids? Didn't you know I have two kids?" Dylan inquired, and Rosie pretended not to know.

"I don't know, Dy, but isn’t her family already billionaires? What does she need your money for?"

Dylan was silent for a moment before replying, "No, Rosie. Jessica can’t go empty-handed like that; she helped me build this company. Her parents won’t take it lightly if I just divorce her without fairly sharing everything we’ve built."

"So what do you want to do now?" Rosie asked, trying not to sound too desperate or annoyed during the call.

"I will prepare a new divorce agreement later and contact my lawyer to get it ready so Jessica can sign it. She doesn’t want to divorce me either," Dylan answered.

"She has to, Dylan! I'm supposed to be your wife, not her! So let her go back to her parents' house!" Rosie spat.

"Hmm," Dylan hummed. "It's okay; you don't need to worry."

Rosie finally pretended to be calm and said, "Dylan, you know I love you very much. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all those years. Life hasn't been easy for me living abroad. When you called me and asked for my help, things only worsened for me because my dad's company collapsed and was sold off. I struggled too."

"It's alright, Rosie. I know; I saw it in the news. Don’t worry, I will come over to your house today after work, so be expecting me," Dylan said, and Rosie giggled.

"Okay, sweetheart, I will be expecting you. And what do you want me to prepare for you?" Rosie asked.

"You can cook now?" Dylan replied in surprise.

"Yeah, I learned how to cook abroad after things got tough because ready-made meals were expensive, and they didn’t fill me up," Rosie explained.

"Okay, prepare whatever you feel like, or if you don’t want to tire yourself out, I’ll just order dinner so you don’t get exhausted. I don’t want you to turn lazy in bed; I want you to satisfy me however I desire tonight," Dylan said, a sweet smile curving his lips as he thought about how passionately he’d make love to Rosie when he finally arrived at her home after work.

"Okay, babe, the bill is on you. I’ll be expecting you. Bye, kisses!" Rosie blew kisses through the phone.

Dylan returned the gesture, blowing kisses back before the call ended.
