Chapter 4
POV Kaleo
I shouldn’t look again, but I’m practically clawing at my face with my nails, which can’t stay still because of how nervous I am. I just need one more peek at Melissa and her list of preferences, just a little glance to make sure I’m prepared.
My pantry is already full of something called "orange soda" that comes in cans and "instant noodles" that come in cups, which makes no sense at all. But I know I’ll still have to get more things to keep a human in my home long-term.
These small, pale, and fragile little things are very demanding.
The good news, however, is that based on my research, the human diet and the azuri diet aren’t too different at their core, so she’ll be able to eat almost everything I eat without being poisoned. I’m just not sure if she’ll adapt to the taste.
“Damn it, Kaleo...” I growl to myself, lying on my bed, and of course, I can’t resist looking at the list that this Unob guy gave me days ago.
It’s not very long, just a few foods and notes, but nothing I haven’t already seen online. The most important thing is that Melissa needs warmth, a lot of warmth, and according to the research I accessed, Selvaria would kill this female in seconds. My planet reaches -40C on its best days, according to researchers, because in the coldest season it goes far below that.
I’ve never used numbers to measure how cold it is, always the way of my people, but since I bought this human, I’ve understood that I would have to accept new concepts in my head, including her name, which I know is "Melissa," but I don’t think I can pronounce it perfectly. I even had to give in to faleus technology, and now my house has heaters in every room.
Of course, it’s not ideal for me, but the azuri body adapts much better than the human one, so I think I can endure up to about 15°C without melting.
Just to be safe, I make the hand gestures in the air that those damned planet invaders taught me, and soon the warmth begins seeping through my walls.
“At least those bastards were good for something...” I grumble, partly angry thinking about the faleus, and partly a bit relieved that my little wife won’t freeze to death.
I’m like a nola cub, so anxious and restless about the arrival of this female who shouldn’t mean much.
This shouldn’t be anything for a male like me. Kaleo Ni should not long for anyone.
I’ve already won immense battles, decapitated many lilari males, and even so… I spent the whole night staring at the portable hologram I bought from a vendor on my last trip.
The hologram consists of two little rods that I have no idea what’s inside. I just hold one in each hand, and they display a floating square image in the air. If my mother saw this, she’d think it was bad magic, and I would’ve agreed with her a few seasons ago. But last season, I decided to stop rejecting everything that comes from outside and began looking for my female.
I ended up finding a text saying that humans are compatible for procreation with a small list of species, including faleus, lilari, and most importantly, azuri, which is my race. After that, I started looking more carefully and found my beautiful Melissa.
I try very hard not to break the hologram by holding it the wrong way. I carefully press a button on one of the rods, and soon my future wife appears, making my two hearts race instantly.
By Novai, she’s so breathtaking...
So enchanting that she almost seems like a fever dream I had during the mating season.
I can almost feel my blood pumping faster, and I’m so agitated that it’s hard to stay in my bed, where this female will soon be. I’ll bring many animal pelts for her to warm herself on my mattress.
“You better disguise your anxiety when she arrives, Kaleo…” I keep talking to myself.
It feels like this tiny female with full, extremely seductive lips is already my wife, and it infuriates me that she’s out there, not here, by my side, where I can follow her every move like a good husband should.
Once she arrives, I won’t take my eyes off this female. I won’t be a foolish male who lets his woman be stolen, as I’ve seen happen. She’s too beautiful, too curvy, and will cause too much envy in the hearts of Selvaria’s lonely males, and I need to be ready to prevent her escape.
Melissa will be by my side at all times.
The moment I laid eyes on her profile, something inside me tightened, and a massive chill spread through me, almost as if I could go into heat just from her image, without even knowing her scent. I felt... something strange.
My whole body filled with the same energy I used to feel before battles, a desperate frenzy just from staring at her face, which is essentially the opposite of mine, and of course, that worries me too.
My two irises are an extremely vivid red, while hers are delicate light brown, with dark, long lashes. She doesn’t have horns, not even small ones.
Her lips are full, her nose is a small, round thing in the middle of her face, and she has the perfect body to carry litters. Melissa is everything any warrior would want in his cabin after returning home: a soft, rounded belly, plump cheeks, and a beautiful smile.
"I shouldn't look again, but I'm practically clawing at my face, my hands too restless to stay still with all this nervous energy. I just need one more glance at Melissa and her list of preferences, just a small peek, to make sure I'm prepared.

The upside, however, is that according to my research, the human and azuri diets aren’t that different at their core. So, she can eat almost everything I eat without being poisoned—I just don’t know if she’ll like the taste.
"Dammit, Kaleo..." I growl to myself, lying on my bed. Of course, I can’t resist and glance again at the list that the merchant Unob gave me days ago.
It’s not very long, just a few food items and instructions, nothing I haven’t already seen online. The most important thing is that Melissa needs heat—a lot of heat. From what I’ve read, Selvaria could kill her in seconds. My planet reaches -40°C on its best days, according to researchers, and drops far below that during its coldest season.

Just to be sure, I move my fingers in the air as the cursed planet invaders taught me, and soon warmth starts seeping through my walls.
“At least those bastards are good for something…” I mutter, part angry at the faleus and part relieved that my little wife won’t freeze to death.
I’m like a restless nola pup, so anxious and unsettled about the arrival of this female who shouldn’t mean anything to me.
This shouldn’t be anything to a male like me. Kaleo Ni should not yearn for anyone.
I’ve conquered immense battles, decapitated many lilari males, and yet… I’ve spent the entire night staring at the portable hologram I bought from a merchant on my last trip.
The hologram consists of two small sticks. I have no idea what’s inside them. I simply hold one in each hand, and they project a floating square image in the air. If my mother saw this, she’d think it was bad magic. I would’ve agreed with her a few seasons ago, but last season, I decided to stop rejecting everything foreign and began searching for my mate.
That’s when I found a text claiming humans are compatible for reproduction with a small list of species, including faleus, lilari, and most importantly, azuri—my species. After that, I did more research and found my beautiful Melissa.
I try hard not to crush the hologram in my hands, gripping it carefully. I press a button on one of the sticks, and soon, my future wife appears, making both my hearts race instantly.
By Novai, she’s breathtaking...
So enchanting, she feels almost like a fever dream I had during rut.
I can almost feel my blood pumping faster through my body, making it hard to stay on my bed—where this female will soon be. I’ll bring many animal pelts for her to keep warm on my mattress.
“You better hide your excitement when she arrives, Kaleo…” I continue muttering to myself.
I feel as if this tiny female, with her full lips and incredibly seductive appearance, is already my wife. It angers me that she’s out there somewhere, not here by my side, where I can follow her every step like a good husband should.
Once she’s here, I won’t take my eyes off her. I won’t be one of those foolish males who let their women get stolen, as I’ve seen before. She’s far too beautiful, far too curvy. She’ll stir envy in the hearts of the lonely males of Selvaria, and I need to be ready to keep her from escaping.
Melissa will be by my side at all times.
The moment I laid eyes on her profile, something inside me grew tense, and a deep cold spread through me—almost as if I could go into rut just from her image, without even knowing her scent. I felt… something strange.
My entire body filled with the same energy I get before a battle—a desperate frenzy just from looking at her face, which is essentially the opposite of mine. And that, of course, worries me as well.
My two irises are a striking red, while she has soft, light brown eyes framed by long, dark lashes. She has no horns, not even small ones.
Her lips are full, her nose is a small, round thing in the middle of her face, and her body is perfect for carrying litters. Melissa is everything a warrior would want to have in his cabin after returning home: a soft, rounded belly, plump cheeks, and a beautiful smile.
And she seems so serene, so sweet, while I... I look like an azuri warrior. There’s no sweetness or serenity here.
Even so, Melissa and I are similar in some ways. I know there are many strange species out there, but humans and azuri share some things in common. I hope that earns me some points. If it doesn’t, it’s fine—I’m willing to eliminate all her other options until she has only me.
We both have two legs, two arms, five toes and fingers, two eyes, a mouth, and a nose. The difference is that Melissa is all one color, while I’m a mix of light brown and shades of blue, with scales and protrusions that surely don’t exist on her body.
There’s also her size, which worries me a lot. According to my calculations, this human female is much smaller than any other female in my village, and she’s also accustomed to far more technology.
But her seller, a male named Unob, assured me that Melissa is aware Selvaria is nothing like Earth, her home planet, and that azuri males are nothing like human males. So maybe my human truly has a calmer temperament and knows how to submit.
There’s just one small problem… or rather, three big problems, which might scare her during the Moon Ceremony—a strange thought, really.
I’ve always been proud of the size of my two cocks and my nyclo, which is very rare and prized among my species, but hers has nothing remotely like that.
Maybe I should’ve thought twice before buying a human last season…
But now it’s done, and according to my research, the way things are done in Selvaria is somewhat reminiscent of something humans used to have on their planet called the 'Middle Ages.'
So, even though there are many chances for this to go wrong, maybe my instincts are right. They’ve always saved me in battle, and this time may be no different."
