Chapter 2 Meeting Again

Daniel glanced at his daughter-in-law Layla with a hint of disapproval and then put his arm around Aria's shoulders.

"She can stay for a few days. We've got plenty of rooms. She lived with us for years; we shouldn't be so harsh. Call Alexander and have him come back. Even if they're divorced, they can be friends. Don't go overboard."

Layla had no choice but to make the call. When Alexander heard that Sienna was coming back and staying at The Knight Manor, he dropped everything at work and rushed home.

Even after five years, the memory of that night still made Alexander get furious. The proud and ruthless Alexander had never been so humiliated.

She dared to come back. Alexander smirked coldly, ready to make her pay.

At the airport, Sienna pushed her luggage out of the terminal and hailed a cab to The Knight Manor. Beside her were two lively little boys, their bright eyes full of curiosity.

Sienna had returned to the country at Aria's invitation. Aria had been seeking medical treatment for years, and Sienna had come across her name in the research institute's records. Learning that Sienna was a doctor there, Aria insisted she come to treat her, offering triple the usual fee, which Sienna couldn't refuse.

After all, Sienna had two little ones to support, and it hadn't been easy.

The boys, on their first trip back, were fascinated by the cityscape outside the car window.

"Mommy, is this where you grew up?" William Blake asked, his eyes wide with wonder.

Sienna nodded, gently ruffling his hair. "Do you like it here?"

William nodded enthusiastically. "There are so many people! It must be fun!"

Henry Blake, on the other hand, remained stoic, his small brow furrowed as he looked out the window.

The two boys were opposites in every way. Henry was calm and quiet, while William was mischievous and energetic. But both were incredibly smart, with IQs surpassing most adults at just four years old.

Before they left, William had almost blown up James Smith's lab, much to James's fury. Sienna had been scolded by this upperclassman relentlessly, her phone nearly exploding with messages.

"William, behave yourself and don't run around. Mommy is here to work, not to play!"

William huffed in reluctant agreement. Sienna turned to Henry, who nodded reassuringly. "Don't worry, Mommy. I'll keep an eye on him."

With Henry's promise, Sienna felt a bit more at ease. She still couldn't understand how two such different boys could come from the same womb.

Henry was a computer genius, handling complex tasks by the age of three. He even managed to make profitable investments, much to Sienna's astonishment. Meanwhile, William was a natural in the lab, identifying complex compounds with a single sniff, though his experiments often ended in explosions.

Sienna's salary barely covered the lab damages, but despite his bad behaviors, William's accidental inventions had also earned a few patents. Unfortunately, his interests lay more in creating poisons than cures, leading to Sienna's first real outburst when he used his concoctions on someone he disliked.

Reflecting on her parenting journey, Sienna felt exhausted but grateful for Henry's reliability.

As they arrived at The Knight Manor, Aria was already at the door, eagerly waiting.

"Sienna, my dear Sienna, you're finally back!"

Sienna got out of the car and rushed to Aria. "Aria, how are you?"

Aria held Sienna's hand tightly. "Better now that you're here!"

Sienna greeted Daniel and Layla. "Hello, Daniel. Hello, Layla."

Layla huffed, clearly displeased, while Daniel nodded, his eyes on the car where two little heads peeked out.

Alexander's gaze was fixed on Sienna the moment she stepped out. Despite the five years apart, seeing Alexander still made Sienna's heart race and her hands tremble.

Alexander hadn't changed much, still exuding the same cold, authoritative presence. Time had only made him more handsome, though his sharp eyes were intimidating.

As Alexander scrutinized Sienna, he noticed her transformation. She was more confident, her khaki trench coat and wavy hair adding to her mature charm. She was a far cry from the timid girl he once knew.

Unbeknownst to him, two little boys were also sizing him up.

"Henry, is that man Mommy's ex-husband?" William whispered.

Henry's eyes, so similar to Alexander's, were filled with curiosity. It was hard to deny the resemblance.

Sienna opened the car door and helped the boys out.

"Sienna, these are your sons? They're adorable!" Aria exclaimed, hugging them.

Henry resisted the affection, while William happily returned the kisses. "Hi, ma'am! I'm William, and this is my brother, Henry!"

Aria beamed. "Sienna, they're precious! Come, I'll get you something to eat!"

Just then, Alexander blocked their path. "Sienna, are these your children? How old are they?"

A seed of doubt planted itself in Alexander's mind. Sienna clenched her fists and replied coldly, "They're three. William, Henry, say hello to your Uncle Alexander."

Henry stared at Alexander in silence, but William waved cheerfully. "Hi, you jerk!"
