Chapter 4 Father-Son Battle
Settling their score? No way.
Sienna forced herself to stay calm. Her two sons were right there; if she really started arguing, she'd lose all dignity.
"Mr. Knight, I don't think I owe you anything, nor do I have any scores to settle. Or do you feel that I got the short end of the stick in the divorce and wants to give me half of your assets?"
Alexander glared at Sienna. How shameless could she be, thinking she could get a share of his wealth? Dream on.
Ignoring the two kids, he grabbed Sienna and tried to drag her away. William and Henry were furious and chased after them. Henry clung to Alexander's leg and bit down hard.
Alexander frowned and instinctively shook Henry off. Sienna nearly lost it when she saw what happened.
"Henry!"
Henry fell to the ground, his little hand scraping against a rock and starting to bleed.
Seeing this, William grabbed Alexander's hand tightly and kicked him in the shin.
"Bad man!"
Then he burst into tears. Sienna's heart ached as she saw Henry's bleeding hand. She suddenly stood up, rushed to Alexander, and slapped him hard across the face.
"Alexander, you beast! What right do you have to settle scores with me? What gives you the right to criticize me? Let me tell you, I owe you nothing. Stop acting all high and mighty; I'm not buying it!"
With that, Sienna picked up Henry and walked away, with William quickly following behind. Alexander felt a pang of regret seeing Henry fall, and even more so when he saw the blood. He wanted to chase after them, but everything went black, and he collapsed to the ground.
William, trailing behind, glanced back at Alexander lying on the ground. He didn't feel the least bit guilty and hurried to catch up with his mom.
Back in the living room, the entire Knight family was in an uproar when they saw Henry covered in blood. Aria was shocked.
"Oh my goodness, what happened?"
Sienna didn't say a word. She placed Henry on the couch and rushed upstairs to get the first aid kit. Aria quickly hugged William.
"William, tell me, what happened?"
William was genuinely crying, tears streaming down his face, almost to the point of hyperventilating. Even the maids felt heartbroken seeing him like this.
"That jerk! He bullied Mom and hit Henry, just like this!"
The little guy kicked with his chubby leg, making Aria's blood pressure rise.
"That scoundrel! Henry is just a child, and he kick him? This is infuriating!"
Aria was on the verge of tears. Daniel frowned and gave the butler a look, who quickly went outside to find Alexander.
Sienna hurried back down with the first aid kit and expertly disinfected and bandaged Henry's wounds. Henry, trying to be brave, didn't cry. Sienna checked his body and found several more scrapes, including a skinned knee.
After dealing with the injuries, Sienna picked up Henry and headed upstairs, glancing at William in Aria's arms.
"William, come to your room!"
William nodded, still sniffling, and followed Sienna upstairs. Aria was so angry she almost had a fit.
Just then, the butler Preston rushed in, sweating profusely.
"Mr. Daniel Knight, Mrs. Aria Knight, Mr. Alexander Knight fainted in the garden. He doesn't look good!"
Daniel hurried outside and saw Alexander lying on the garden path, his expression darkening.
Layla, having heard the news, ran over and was frantic seeing her son on the ground.
"What are you standing around for? Call an ambulance!"
Preston quickly replied, "It's already on its way!"
Layla was still fuming, convinced that Sienna had something to do with Alexander's condition.
"I knew it! Sienna is bad luck. You all insisted on bringing her here. I think we should kick them all out. How could we let her stay at the Knight Manor with those brats? What a disgrace!"
"Enough!"
Daniel was genuinely angry and looked at Preston.
"Take him to the hospital. And you, Layla, go back to your own house. Don't come over unless necessary!"
Aria had been in a good mood, but now, thanks to her troublesome grandson, things had escalated. No matter what, hitting a three-year-old was wrong, and Alexander was out of line.
Soon, Alexander was taken to the hospital. Daniel returned home, and Aria wasn't doing well either. Just as they were about to call the family doctor, Sienna walked into the bedroom.
"Let me take a look."
Sienna, carrying a stethoscope and a medical kit, skillfully examined Aria and then took out some pills.
"Aria needs a thorough check-up at the hospital. Once I'm done with my work in the next couple of days, we'll get her admitted. She might need surgery, but for now, I'll use some special medication to alleviate her symptoms."
Sienna's medication had just passed clinical trials and was very expensive. It wasn't yet mass-produced, and many sought it, but supplies were limited. Sienna had high standards, using rare and costly ingredients, some of which she cultivated herself.
After taking the pill, Aria's complexion improved significantly, which pleased Daniel.
"Sienna, what happened with Henry was Alexander's fault. I apologize on his behalf. Rest assured, I'll make sure he apologizes to you in person."
Sienna took a deep breath, thinking about her two sons. She suddenly wanted to leave the Knight Manor, feeling that staying there was a mistake.
"I'll look for a place to stay in the next couple of days. I think it's safer for the kids if we live elsewhere."
Hearing that, Daniel quickly waved his hand.
"No, that's not an option. The kids are so young, and you have to work. How can you manage everything? Don't worry, I'll make sure he apologizes. If he doesn't, I'll kick him out!"
Sienna didn't feel much better despite Daniel's assurance. No one knew Alexander better than she did. He was vindictive and wouldn't let go of what happened five years ago. But Sienna didn't want to see Alexander anymore.
"I'll think about it, Daniel."
Daniel nodded. Sienna took the medical kit and went upstairs. On the bed, the two little ones were already asleep. Henry's brow was furrowed, and his forehead was sweaty. Sienna quickly picked him up.
"Henry, don't be afraid. Mommy's here."
Henry seemed mature for his age, but he was just a child. Sienna held him tenderly, comforting him until he fell into a deep sleep. She then put him down. William, on the other hand, was sprawled out, sleeping soundly, making Sienna smile despite herself.
Just as she was about to rest, there was a knock on the bedroom door. Sienna opened it to find Preston standing outside.
"Mrs. Knight, there's an emergency with Mr. Knight. We might need your help."
Preston looked awkward, but the situation was urgent, and he didn't dare make decisions on his own.
"What's wrong with him?"
Sienna's tone was impatient. Preston could only say, "Mr. Knight has been poisoned. The hospital doesn't have the antidote. The doctor said if we don't find the antidote within two hours, Mr. Knight will die!"
