Chapter 5 The Bastard Ex-Husband is Poisoned

Poisoned?

Sienna furrowed her brows and turned to look at William, who was sleeping soundly on the bed. She took a deep breath. No wonder he touched Alexander's hand earlier; he must have poisoned him.

After some thought, Sienna decided to head to the hospital, leaving Preston to watch over her two kids.

At the hospital, Layla was yelling at the doctor.

"What are you all doing? The Knight family pours so much money into this hospital every year, and you can't even save my son? You're all useless, worthless!"

The medical staff present were visibly angry at Layla's outburst, but given her status as Mrs. Knight, they didn't dare to speak up.

"Mrs. Knight, if you want to throw a tantrum, go back to the Knight Manor. This is a hospital, not your family's company! Doctors aren't miracle workers; they can't cure everything. No one here can cure the poison in your son. So there's no point in blaming them!"

Seeing Sienna, Layla's anger flared up again. She pointed at Sienna and was about to lash out, but Sienna's next words stopped her cold.

"Mrs. Knight, you'd better think before you speak. Right now, I'm the only one who can save your son, and he has only half an hour left. Without the antidote, he will die."

Layla was stunned, pointing at Sienna but unable to say a word for a while.

"How can you be so cruel..."

Sienna, already in her white coat, turned and walked away without hesitation, leaving Layla dumbfounded.

"You... I'm just saying, and you're so heartless!"

Sienna smirked and continued walking out.

"Alright, alright, I was wrong, okay?"

With Layla's concession, Sienna returned to the room. Honestly, she didn't want anything to do with Alexander, but he was the father of her two boys. She couldn't let him die from poison, especially since it was his son who had administered it.

So Sienna administered the antidote to him. Soon, Alexander's darkened complexion began to return to normal, leaving the medical staff in awe.

"Dr. Blake, you're amazing!"

Sienna didn't respond and left the hospital immediately. Back at the Knight Manor, she informed Preston that Alexander was fine, then went to sleep with her two sons.

Alexander woke up two hours after the antidote was administered. Layla was overjoyed to see her son awake.

"Alexander, you're awake! Do you know you were poisoned?"

Poisoned?

Alexander frowned, and a furious little face flashed in his mind. Could it have been that kid?

Thinking of this possibility, Alexander chuckled coldly. "Sienna, you really are impressive!"

Layla caught his words instantly. "Alexander, what do you mean by that? Did that woman Sienna poison you?"

Alexander shook his head. He wouldn't tell Layla the truth.

"It has nothing to do with her. I accidentally touched something I shouldn't have. I'm fine now. You should go home and rest."

Seeing her son was okay, Layla left. Alexander took out his phone and called his assistant.

"Investigate Sienna's background, starting with the Nova Research Institute."

Sienna had a good night's sleep with her two boys. When she woke up, it was already 9:30 AM. She quickly got up, washed up, and dressed the two little ones.

Henry had some scrapes and was limping, so Sienna carried him to the bathroom to wash up, with William obediently following behind.

Before breakfast, Sienna had a serious talk with William.

"Didn't I tell you not to poison anyone, William? You broke the rule!"

William huffed, clearly defiant.

"He bullied you, and he hit Henry, he's a bad guy!"

Sienna rubbed her forehead, feeling exasperated.

"If they hadn't come to find me last night, Alexander would be dead today. William, I'm serious. If you poison anyone again, I'll take away everything you care about, including all your pets!"

William shivered and quickly shook his head.

"I won't do it again, I promise!"

With his assurance, Sienna took them downstairs, where Aria was already waiting on the couch.

"Sienna, are the kids okay?"

Aria's eyes were red as she spoke. William ran over and hugged her leg.

"Aria, Henry is hurt!"

Aria's heart ached as she looked at Henry's injuries, feeling even more guilty.

"Sienna, I'm so sorry. If I hadn't selfishly asked you to come back to treat me, the kids wouldn't have suffered like this!"

Sienna smiled and sat Henry next to Aria. "Aria, it's not your fault. Don't worry about it."

Aria felt better and had a little something to eat with the kids, but she still didn't look well, so she decided to go to the hospital for a full check-up.

At the hospital, Sienna changed into her coat and personally took Aria for the check-up, but Alexander intercepted her.

"Dr. Blake, we need to talk."

Sienna raised an eyebrow. So he survived and now wanted to cause trouble?

"As a family member of your patient, I think some things need to be clarified."

Sienna chuckled in exasperation but didn't argue. She borrowed a doctor's office, and the hospital director, who had been contacted by her mentor, also came.

"Mr. Knight, what do you need?"

"I want to see your degree, medical license, and whether your medications are approved by the FDA. I need to confirm these before you treat my grandmother."

Sienna raised an eyebrow but didn't get angry.

"I don't have my documents on me. If you want to see them, the hospital has copies. Or do you think a place like this would let someone unqualified practice medicine?"

The director looked embarrassed. "Mr. Knight, Dr. Blake is a senior researcher at the Nova Research Institute. She was recommended by Professor Byrne, a world-renowned medical expert. We've verified everything; there wouldn't be any mistakes."

Alexander sneered. He knew Sienna wasn't as simple as she seemed, and the fact that he almost died from poisoning yesterday was unacceptable to him.

"Everyone, please leave. I need to speak with Dr. Blake alone."

Sienna knew they would have to face the events of five years ago sooner or later, so she didn't object. The director and others left.

"Sienna, do you think you can just forget about humiliating me back then?"

Sienna looked at Alexander and asked, "What else? Do you want to humiliate me back? How long have we known each other? From meeting to marriage, it had been five years. And after five years, we meet again. Alexander, you are still as terrible as ever! I've long forgotten what happened five years ago. Besides, with your poor performance in bed, how could I remember any of it?"
