I blinked, confusion cutting through the fear. “I—I excuse me?” 

“The Shadow Realm pack has what we need. A healing scroll. You’re going to infiltrate their pack and bring it to me.”  

My blood ran cold. “How?”  

Alpha Liam smirked, a cruel twist of his lips. “Simple. Lucas, the Lycan King’s father, is looking for a young mate. You’ll be that mate.”  

The words hit me like a blow.

“I—”  

“Don’t bother protesting. You don’t have a choice. Either you do this, or Blake dies. And if he dies…” His eyes darkened, his voice dropping to a dangerous low. “So do you.”  

I stared at him, my mind racing. There was no way out of this. No escape.  

Liam’s smirk widened as he stepped closer. “You’ll do well to remember one thing, little wolf. Your life belongs to me now. Don’t forget it.”
