My heart practically jumped into my throat. What was that supposed to mean? I couldn't tell if it was a compliment or something...else. That strange, heated thrill kept running through me. 



"I...guess so," College changes you." 




"Does it?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. There was a hint of mischief in his smile, and my heart raced at the thought of what he might be thinking. 



"Yeah, you know," I tried sounding causal. "More responsibilities, more-" 



"More maturity?" There was teasing lilt in his voice as he interrupted. The way he said it made my heart flutter. 



I laughed, a little nervous. "Yeah, something like that." I mumbled, not really sure how to respond.
