Chapter 2: On the Road Together

The appearance of the sacred seal has greatly increased the number of people in the Church, bringing the struggle between humans and monsters back into a relatively balanced state.

Elara Moore tried hard to search her mind for this thing called Inner Demon, but she could not remember any connection to herself. In her memory, she woke up naked in the wilderness outside the town, her mind completely blank.

She walked to the town in a daze and was almost beaten to death by the villagers who were armed and furious after she stole a piece of clothing.

The Priest already knew what happened next.

"The God of Light will bless all His people. No matter what sins you have committed in the past, once you join the Church, no one can hold you accountable. For you, forgetting the past and starting anew might also be a good thing." Noyce Walker arranged a more comfortable corner in the carriage and helped Elara lie down.

The girl was not wearing any clothes, and the wounds on her body had already begun to scab over, causing pain and itching. Her thin body showed that she had not had an easy life before.

Elara's eyes were covered with gauze soaked in medicine, and she could not see anything. Her severely injured body was still unresponsive, and she could only lie there like a doll, allowing the Priest to move her around. The thought of being completely exposed in front of a strange man made her body stiff and her breathing rapid.

The Priest, however, seemed to be used to it and was unperturbed. After settling Elara's bed, he took out a bottle of medicine and began to apply it carefully all over the girl's body.

She had used this medicine once before, but at that time, she was in the middle of a disaster and in great pain, so she didn't have the mind to think about it. Now that she was conscious, the process of applying the medicine suddenly felt as if it were a torture, the medicine seeping into her body, cool and gentle, taking away all the pain and maximizing the presence of the Priest's fingers.

Elara could clearly feel Noyce's fingers roaming over every inch of her skin, her neck, chest, abdomen, and even between her legs. The strange pleasure brought by the medicine made her instinctively want to resist, but her body was completely immobile, and she could only shiver and accept Noyce's gentle caress, biting her lips tightly to prevent herself from moaning.

She didn't know how much time had passed when the Priest finally finished applying the medicine to the last piece of skin and gently covered Elara with a blanket. Elara let out a long sigh of relief, but before she could catch her breath, she felt something approaching her face, the soft breath sprinkling on her face, and then a warm kiss was imprinted on her lips.

"Ugh..." The girl's scream was blocked by the sweet liquid that flowed in. The liquid flowed in continuously, forcing her to swallow it. By the time her lips were finally released, she was already having some difficulty breathing. As the liquid was swallowed, her body, which had not eaten for several days, instantly regained some strength, and the feeling of hunger also dissipated somewhat.

"You can't eat now, this can help you replenish your energy," the Priest's voice came again, and then his lips covered hers once more.

This time, Elara completely gave up struggling and obediently let the Priest feed her the special medicine made by their Church, drop by drop. The breath was filled with the man's scent, clean and fresh, with a hint of the fragrance of soap nuts.

She couldn't see what Noyce looked like, but she felt that he must be a clean person. His long hair occasionally brushed against her face, making her feel a little itchy.

His movements were gentle and restrained, and apart from feeding the medicine, there was no further intrusion. Elara couldn't help but stick out her tongue and tentatively probe into Noyce's mouth, sliding over the slightly open teeth, entwining with the warm tongue.

This time, it was the Priest's turn to be slightly stunned by the little action, and he lightly bit the naughty little thing under him as a warning. Elara immediately pulled her tongue back and dared not make any more unnecessary movements. After she swallowed all the medicine, the Priest released her lips, covered her with the blanket, and told her to rest well.

The carriage took the two of them towards the city of Xis, and the injured girl was mostly lying there, dozing off. She could feel the white-clad Priest sitting quietly by her side, and the sound of pages turning could be heard from time to time.

Due to her limited mobility, Elara needed the Priest to help her with medicine, feeding, and even excretion. The embarrassment of having to deal with physiological problems in front of a man made Elara feel extremely ashamed, and she buried herself in the quilt, not wanting to see anyone.

"The duty of the Church is to represent the God of Light to protect His people. Taking care of the wounded is a required course for every clergyman," Noyce explained to the girl in a matter-of-fact tone, pulling down the quilt to prevent her from suffocating herself.

Elara imagined the entire Church feeding people by mouth and thought the scene was too beautiful to bear, "Your Church is really... considerate..." Thinking about the fact that she would also be helping the weak with them in the future seemed like a good thing.

Noyce usually didn't talk much, but he was a conscientious teacher who answered every question. After Elara's physical strength recovered a bit, she began to ask all kinds of questions, about the Church of Light, about Inner Demons, and about her future. When the air outside the carriage became humid, she was finally able to eat by herself.

The scabs on her body began to fall off, revealing the tender new skin underneath. The new skin was soft and sensitive, making the process of applying medicine even more ambiguous. When the wet finger brushed over the nipple, an electric feeling made Elara finally let out a moan of unbearable pain, and a warm flow surged between her legs. Elara's face turned red with embarrassment, and she grabbed Noyce's hand in a fluster, "Let me do it myself..."

The Priest didn't say anything, put the medicine bottle into Elara's hand, and got off the carriage.

Outside the carriage, the sound of noisy people could be heard vaguely. They had already entered the territory of the city of Xis and were heading towards the Church of Light. When the Priest came back, he had an extra set of women's clothes in his hand.

Although she had already had a preliminary understanding of the Church's status during the journey, Elara still marveled at the Church's wealth. The clothes that the Priest bought casually were of high-quality material. Although she had no past memories, the completely unfamiliar touch made her feel that she had probably never worn such clothes in her life.

With her eyes still covered with gauze, Elara was at a loss, fumbling with the complicated ribbons. The Priest finally couldn't bear to watch and took over, dressing the girl in the clothes and skillfully tying the ribbons. Elara restrained herself from asking Noyce if the Church also trained people to dress women.

The carriage jolted slightly and came to a stop.

"We're here."
