Chapter 4 I Can Cure You

During her years abroad, Kathie worked tirelessly to support her children. Initially, her roommate helped take care of them, but after the roommate returned home, the kids gradually learned to manage on their own.

This made things much easier for Kathie.

Kathie went to the nearest mall to buy household and children's supplies. She also picked out some clothes for the kids and then headed to the men's section.

The man's clothes were all torn. Out of kindness, she decided to buy him a couple of outfits.

He couldn't stay naked forever.

As she was browsing, the TV above her played the latest news, "Recently, Jonathan, the new president of the Berkeley Group, was involved in a car accident. It is reported that the car lost control due to excessive speed, fell off a cliff, and exploded. However, Jonathan was not found at the scene. If there are any witnesses, please contact his family. A reward is offered."

Kathie looked up, but the image flashed by too quickly for her to see clearly.

She had wanted to see what Jonathan looked like but missed it.

She waited through a few more news segments, but there was no further mention of Jonathan.

Seeing that it was getting late, Kathie decided to head home.

On the other side of the store, Shirley was also browsing the men's section. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a familiar figure and paused. She looked closely.

It was a stunning woman with a perfect figure, elegantly picking out men's clothes.

Shirley found the woman somewhat familiar.

Her brows furrowed as she reluctantly guessed that the beautiful woman was her half-sister!

Kathie!

She had reappeared?

Seeing Kathie about to leave, Shirley hurried to follow, but the crowd blocked her way, and Kathie quickly disappeared.

Why was that bitch walking so fast!

Cursing, Shirley made a call, "Randy, I just saw Kathie. I wouldn't get it wrong. Find out where she's living. This time, we can't let her get away!"

Back then, Kathie had run off without even finalizing her divorce, leaving Shirley in an ambiguous position with Randy. Even though she and Randy had a son, she was still the subject of gossip among the wealthy wives.

After four years, she had to make Kathie and Randy finalize their divorce!

The three kids were behaving well, avoiding anything dangerous. Zachary was playing chess with Eileen, while Kyle was reading a book and occasionally helping Eileen with her moves.

Before long, Eileen got restless and handed the chess pieces to Kyle. "I'm going to check if the handsome man is awake!"

Before Kyle and Zachary could react, Eileen had already dashed off, leaving the other two to quickly follow.

"Is the handsome man still asleep? Could he be dead?" Eileen cupped her chubby cheeks, her innocent eyes fixed on Jonathan in bed.

Zachary said, "No way. Mommy's medical skills are top-notch. She'll definitely save him."

Kyle checked the man's breathing and said calmly, "He's still alive."

Eileen sighed in relief. "That's good. He's tall and strong. He can help Mommy with a lot of work, like drying herbs."

Jonathan remained silent.

What were they talking about?

Why was it so noisy around him?

It sounded like a flock of sparrows chirping non-stop.

Jonathan furrowed his brows and slowly opened his eyes.

"He's awake!" Eileen called out.

The first thing Jonathan saw was a delicate little girl who looked like a beautiful doll. He was momentarily stunned.

Zachary quickly said, "Kyle, he's awake!"

Kyle leaned in, staring at Jonathan, and said in a mature tone, "You're awake. Mommy said if you woke up, you'd be fine."

Like little mushrooms, three identical children popped up one by one. Jonathan's voice was hoarse as he asked, "Where am I?"

Kyle replied, "This is the outskirts of Eldoria, at our great-grandmother's house."

Jonathan asked, "Did your family save me?"

Eileen giggled. "It was my mommy who saved you. How did you fall from such a high place?"

Jonathan's eyes instantly turned cold.

At that time, someone had tampered with his car. While driving on the mountain highway, it lost control and plunged off the cliff.

Fortunately, he had managed to jump out of the car before it crashed, rolling down the slope and being stopped by a tree, which slowed his fall. After that, he remembered nothing.

Was it their mommy who saved him?

Jonathan asked again, "Where is your mommy?"

"She went shopping."

"And your grandmother?"

"In heaven. It's just the three of us and Mommy here."

Jonathan casually asked, "Where's your dad?"

The three kids fell silent.

Zachary pouted. "Sir, you ask too many questions."

Jonathan was speechless.

For the first time in his life, he was rebuffed by a child.

"Sir, have some water," Eileen said, handing him a cup. "What's your name? Where are you from?"

Jonathan looked at the adorable little girl and couldn't help but soften. He took the cup and drank a few sips.

When he didn't answer, Zachary frowned. "Is he suffering from amnesia?"

Eileen was stunned. "Amnesia?"

Zachary nodded. "Haven't you seen it on TV? Most people who have car accidents lose their memory. He probably did too. Otherwise, why isn't he answering?"

Jonathan was both amused and exasperated by these clever little kids.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Eileen's eyes lit up. "Mommy must be back!"

The three kids ran off in unison. "Mommy!"

Eileen was about to open the door when Kyle stopped her.

The three kids paused and peeked through the door crack, seeing a stranger outside.

"Who are you?" they asked in unison.

"Hello, little ones. Where are your parents? I'm the cleaner your family hired..." Nola Rivera, the cleaner, was delighted to see the identical triplets.

"Oh, we don't know. Come back later!" With that, the kids ran back inside.

Nola was puzzled.

What was going on?

Eileen turned back to Kyle. "Shouldn't we let her in?"

Kyle said, "Unless it's Mommy, we don't open the door for anyone."

Kathie hurried home, having been called several times by Nola. By the time she arrived, Nola had already left in a huff.

Kathie would have to find someone else.

As soon as Kathie walked in, Eileen ran up to her. "Mommy, the handsome man is awake!"

"Really? When did he wake up? Did he say anything?" Kathie asked.

She then put down her things and walked into the guest room.

Kyle and Zachary were there, while Eileen was reporting the situation and rummaging through a snack bag. Kyle and Zachary were also drawn to the snacks.

Kathie approached the bed, gently placing her hand on Jonathan's forehead to check his temperature.

Her sudden closeness made Jonathan inhale sharply.

He hadn't expected his savior to be such a young and beautiful woman.

"Did you save me?" Jonathan asked.

"Yes. You still have a slight fever. I'll make some medicine for you to take." Kathie continued to examine Jonathan. Seeing him try to move, she said firmly, "Don't move. Your right leg and left arm are broken. You can't get up yet."

"What?" Jonathan was shocked. He hadn't realized his arm and leg were numb. He had narrowly escaped death, only to end up crippled?

Kathie looked at Jonathan's cold face and softened her voice. "Don't worry. I can heal you."
