Chapter 5 She Calls Him Seven

Listening to Kathie's reassurance, Jonathan still felt uneasy.

Aside from his family's private doctor, he found it hard to believe that someone so young could be highly skilled in medicine.

Seeing Jonathan's expression, Kathie raised an eyebrow. "You don't believe me? Fine, have your family take you to the hospital sooner rather than later, so you don't end up clinging to me."

Jonathan pursed his lips. It wasn't the right time to have someone come get him.

"When will my arm and leg heal?" he asked.

"Not sure." Kathie replied.

Jonathan was annoyed. "Didn't you say you could treat me? How come you can't give me a definite answer?"

Kathie withdrew her hand from examining him. "Watch your attitude. My kindness isn't unlimited. Give me your phone, and I'll call your family to pick you up."

She had known he would be difficult to deal with, and sure enough, he was. She should get rid of him quickly.

Jonathan awkwardly said, "I don't know."

Kathie raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms and staring at him.

Eileen pushed the door open and came in, excitedly saying, "Mommy! Did you bring back the dogs?"

Kathie didn't answer, instead asking, "What's your name, and where are you from? The news said the CEO of the Berkeley Group, Jonathan, went missing after a car accident. Is that you?"

Jonathan calmly replied, "No."

"Really?" Kathie didn't believe it.

"Mommy, he has amnesia," Eileen interjected.

"Seriously?" Kathie stared at Jonathan's face. "Playing the amnesia card?"

Jonathan freed a hand and suddenly realized he was naked, frowning. "Where are my clothes?"

"Your clothes were all torn. Wear this." Kathie tossed him two bags.

Jonathan's frown deepened. "You took off my clothes?"

"Who else?" Kathie pulled out some loungewear to put on him.

Jonathan felt a bit uncomfortable but had no choice. This woman had a fiery temper and quick actions.

Meanwhile, Shirley hurried home to wait for Randy. She was soothing her son while a few cleaning staff were tidying up.

One of the cleaners, Nola, grumbled, "You wouldn't believe it. Today, I went to a house where only three kids were home. They wouldn't let me in and made me wait forever."

"That's so annoying. If they hire someone, they should have someone at home. What's their last name? We should avoid taking jobs from them in the future."

Nola thought for a moment. "I think their last name was Cavendish too."

Shirley overheard and immediately asked, "What did you say?"

The cleaners exchanged glances, thinking, 'Oops, we forgot this family is also named Cavendish.'

Unaware of the gossip, Kathie was busy.

After two days of tidying up and taking care of the man with a broken leg, she had no personal time left.

"Seven, take your medicine." Kathie placed the medicine bowl on the table. Since he was awake, he shouldn't expect her to feed him.

Jonathan frowned as he drank the medicine, then took a big gulp of water. "Why do you call me Seven?"

Kathie popped a candy into Jonathan's mouth. "You won't tell me your name or address, so what else should I call you?"

Jonathan widened his eyes, helplessly watching Kathie leave. This woman changed her attitude so quickly.

After a while, Kathie brought some food and placed it on the table before leaving again.

Jonathan looked at the porridge and unknown dishes, frowning even more.

That day, Kathie bought an automatic wheelchair and had Jonathan sit in it. Seeing the nice weather, she pushed him outside to get some sun.

A few days ago, Jonathan had an allergic reaction to pickled vegetables, breaking out in a rash that had just started to heal.

Kathie found it strange. Kyle was allergic to pickled vegetables, and now Jonathan was too.

So, Kathie secretly took Jonathan's blood and compared it with Kyle's DNA. The result showed Jonathan wasn't the biological father of the children.

This put her mind at ease.

"Kathie, you shameless woman! You have a lover and still won't divorce!" Shirley shouted.

Her voice rang out, and Kathie raised an eyebrow.

They found her so quickly?

Jonathan looked up. "Who?"

Kathie smiled, ignoring his question, and asked, "Do you want to stay here or go inside?"

"Stay here," he replied.

Jonathan had finally gotten outside and didn't want to go back in so soon.

The plants hid his upper body, so people outside couldn't see his face.

The three kids heard the commotion and ran out. "Mommy, who's here?"

"Salespeople. Go back inside and don't come out." Kathie stopped them and then walked out to the gate.

She saw Shirley's angry face and Randy behind her.

They had found out where Kathie lived, but Randy had been on a business trip, or they would have come sooner.

Randy only saw a man's silhouette and then noticed how beautiful Kathie had become, feeling a bit jealous.

"Kathie, who is that man?" he asked.

"None of your business," Kathie retorted.

Shirley sneered, "Kathie, you slut! You have another man, so why don't you divorce Randy and let us be together?"

Kathie coldly replied, "As long as I don't divorce, you'll always be Randy's mistress, a disgraceful nobody!"

"Kathie!" Shirley pounded on the gate. "You shameless slut! You slept with another man and had illegitimate children, and now you want to cling to Randy?"

Kathie's eyes turned icy. "Who are you calling illegitimate?"

Shirley felt a chill under Kathie's gaze but mustered the courage to say, "I'm talking about your three illegitimate kids!"

Kathie narrowed her eyes dangerously and opened the gate.

Shirley raised her head, ready to enter.

But Kathie put her fingers to her mouth and whistled. Three dogs came running at lightning speed.

Shirley screamed, "Ah! Dogs!"

Randy's face changed too. One dog bit his pant leg, making him yelp in pain as he tried to shake it off.

"Three! Bite! Bite the bad guys!" Eileen clapped and cheered.

"Four, chase! Five, run faster!" Zachary also cheered.

Hearing these names, Jonathan's eyebrow twitched.

So, that was how he got his name.

Randy, who was being chased by the dogs, had recently been recognized by the family and technically had to call Jonathan his cousin.

When Randy got married, Jonathan had attended the wedding.

Jonathan had arrived late and hadn't seen the bride, but he heard she ran away two months later, and Randy got involved with her stepsister, having a son.

Jonathan's face darkened, thinking, 'Could it be that Kathie is Randy's runaway bride?'

Randy finally got into the car and saw the three kids at the gate, stunned by how much they resembled him.

"Kathie, these kids..." Randy called out.

Kathie snorted, cutting him off. "Don't worry. With your lowly genes, you couldn't have such adorable and outstanding kids. Now get lost!"

"Get away, damn dog!" Shirley screamed in fear. "Kathie, you bitch, get these damn dogs away!"

Randy opened the car door. "Shirley, get in the car!"

"Kathie, you'll pay for this! I won't let you off! Ah! It's biting me! Randy, help me!" Shirley cursed as she ran to the car.
