CHAPTER 4: Wedding Day

Kylie

Logan was sitting on his bed with a woman, who I am certain is Hanna, on top of him as they kissed passionately.

"N-no… No!" my whimpers turned into anger, yelling at both of them.

Hanna was startled by my sudden outburst, but before she could say a thing, I leaped towards her, grabbing her hair as I pulled her out of Logan's lap.

She shrieked in pain and tried to fight back, making us both fall down. My back hit the floor, causing me pain, but I was too preoccupied with anger to even bother my pain.

"Let me go! Damn it!"

If it weren't for Logan, I could have removed every strand of her hair from her scalp. Logan held her wrist, lifting her while I was left on the ground, hurt alongside my weeping wolf.

Going to see him hopeful that he'd ease all of my worries only to catch him red-handed with the woman he promised me not to worry about.

"Who the hell is this bitch, Logan?!"

I forced myself to stand up and was ready to hit her again when Logan pulled her, hiding her behind him.

"Is this also part of your plan, huh?" I scoffed.

"What plan are you talking about?! Are you crazy?! Cause you better go out! You have no idea who you're messing with!" Hanna angrily yelled, but I ignored her, keeping my eyes focused on Logan.

I quickly wiped a set of tears that just escaped my eyes, shaking my head in disappointment.

"Since I've already fucked this up why don't you tell her your plans, Logan? Tell her!" I was shaking in rage and betrayal.

Logan was staring at me so calmly that I didn't know if he was taking any of this seriously. Or if he even takes me seriously at all. His calmness is driving me insane.

"What plan is she talking about?"

Hanna turned to face Logan, but keeping his keen eyes on me, Logan coolly responded, "Nothing, Hanna."

I wanted to burst out laughing painfully, but I was taken aback by everything that took place in the blink of an eye.

"Then who the hell is this crazy bitch?! She just hurt me!"

"I don't know her," he spat, looking straight into my eyes.

Heavily shutting my eyes upon hearing his answers, more tears fell. So, out of the blue, he happened not to know me anymore. If he was thinking I would wail, crying on my knees at him to take his words back, then he was wrong.

I gulped the lump that was stuck in my throat before inhaling a deep breath. "I couldn't ever accept this, Logan. You broke your promise so I will too." I fixed myself before turning around to walk away.

Pure agony filled me. I can't remember how quickly I got back home. All that I could remember was crying to sleep to convince myself I would forget everything the next morning I woke up.

But I was wrong.

The exact pain was still imprinted on me like a fresh wound. Laying like a lifeless body on my mattress, the door was pushed open.

"Kylie, why aren't you getting ready?" Mom's worried voice was the first thing I heard, but I kept my eyes fixed on the white ceiling of my room.

"Is everything okay?" I felt the other edge of the mattress sink as she sat beside me.

"I won't be attending the wedding, Mom."

"What?" she sounds extremely surprised. "But why?"

Before hot tears dripped out of my eyes, I rolled up on the bed, burying my face on the pillow.

"What's happening, Kylie? You can tell me."

"N-n-nothing, Mom. I-I… I just don't feel like it," I lied, biting my lower lip as I forced my voice not to break.

"Well, you're now the Pack's Beta. You have your responsibilities now, my dear. You can't be like this."

Her words hit me like a brick.

Am I letting my emotions take over me?

Well, that's not something a Beta would do. So, putting my stupid emotions aside, I got up and got ready for the wedding.

For the entire time on our way to where the civil wedding would take place, I felt nothing but numbness.

We arrived at the place and I ended up sitting beside Victor, the Gamma. Everyone was gathered, but Logan and Lucas were still nowhere to be found.

The little hope building inside me, wishing that they wouldn't show up, crashed into pieces when the door slammed open, pouring out Logan first and followed by Lucas.

"I'm sorry that we're late, Helena. Logan's not participating at all," I overheard Lucas murmuring to Hanna's twin, who didn't seem to care by any chance.

Averting my gaze to Logan, another crashing feeling down my stomach once again appeared.

"Is our mate really letting this happen?" my wolf questioned.

The ceremony started and keeping my eyes away from him was the only thing prohibiting my tears from falling.

Until the priest asked, "Logan Davis, do you take Hanna Jones to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

I heavily shut my eyes, placing my palm over my ears when no response came out from Logan. Lifting my head, I found him closely staring at me. Our eyes met, but his face was blank.

The priest cleared his throat and repeated the same statement, but Logan said nothing with his eyes still on me.

I don't know what's got into me that I stood up from my seat, getting everyone's attention.

"Of course not! He doesn't love her because I am his mate." Saying those words out loud felt like an achievement to me.

Lucas let out a deep sigh while Logan remained still.

"This is all just part of their plan to save the Pack!" I added, making my way in front.

"And here you are again, bitch," Hanna shrieked, standing up from her seat.

"Can't you see who's the bitch here? Logan's just using you for money, wealth, or whatever it is our Pack needs."

A smirk formed on my lips seeing how her face darkened, but before she burst out, her mother went and held her.

"Stop this nonsense, Kylie!" Logan stepped up, gripping my wrist tightly to the point of pain.

"You are ruining our wedding," he continued, clenching his teeth in anger.

I tried to break free from his grip, but he instead held me tighter.

"You promised me, didn't you?" His bloodshot eyes confirmed how much wrath he was holding.

Promise?

How absurd it is for him to bring up my promise when he just broke his last night.

"Logan, is what your Beta is saying true? You are using my daughters!" Hanna's father exclaimed, making Logan appear panicked, which he never usually is.

"No. No, Alpha. This woman is making up stories… because— because she confessed her love for me and I rejected her."

After saying that, Logan let go of my wrist and pushed me away before he attended to Hanna. I stumbled and reached the ground with tears pooling down my cheeks.

How could he do this to me?

The sound of people's murmuring filled the room, and upon seeing their disgusted look at me, I felt more embarrassed.

My father, on the corner, shook his head, looking at me with pure anger as well. While my mother didn't hesitate and rushed to my place.

I thought she was going to help me up, but my jaw dropped when she knelt in front of Logan with her head reaching the ground as she bent down.

"Please, my Alpha, forgive my daughter. She didn't mean to do any of this. Please spare her—"

"Don't drag yourself into this mess, Mila. She's not even your daughter."

I saw how my mother hastily shook her head as her sobs grew louder, "Please, Alpha. Don't do this."

Logan was about to open his mouth to say another thing when Lucas' voice thundered, "That's enough, Logan!" He squatted and helped my mother to get up.

Lucas' eyes landed on me and I saw nothing, but pure pity before he immediately looked away.

What just happened? Does it really need to turn out like this? Like I am the villain of my own story.

I felt rough hands clutching my wrist as Logan's men forced me to stand up.

"Get that fucking bitch out here!" Hanna screamed.

I was too tired to react, moreover to even resist. So I just let them drag me out. My remaining faith in our bond was torn as I watched Logan's eyes stare at me lifelessly while his men carelessly pushed me out.

The last thing I saw was my mother's crying face as she shook her head as if telling me none of what Logan had said was true. Because what does he mean by saying I am not my mother's daughter?
