Chapter 4
Luka woke up early, as was his daily routine, and headed to work.. They had both slept in separate rooms.
He walked to Thersia's room with a straight face and knocked on her door. What if she was still asleep and he was disturbing her?
After three tries, the door swung open to reveal a sleepy looking Thersia. She had a little drool by the corner of her mouth and she looked dishevelled , but stunning. He would give her that credit, she looked absolutely stunning.
"I'll be on my way to my office and everything you need is already at home. You can also send one of the men to go get you whatever you need" he said.
He chuckled drily at her confused face and wondered if what he was saying sounded like Spanish to her ears.
"Here's my card, Incase you want to go shopping or get anything random. It's an unlimited card, so you can splurge" he continued, shoving the card in her hand and leaving abruptly.
Thersia took the card, feeling sleepy and lightheaded, she closed her door and flung herself on her bed and slept some more.
It was already late in the morning when she yawned and stood up. Looking at her hands, she recalled the morning discussion with Luka. She looked at the card, feeling a mix of excitement and boredom.
She had nothing to do all day, no work, no school, no family or friends to visit. Well, she had to keep herself busy and occupied. She took her bath and dressed up quickly in a simple but refreshing attire and headed downstairs.
Since he gave her the card and told her to splurge, of course he was going to be a good little wife and obey her dear rich husband.
Thersia had different thoughts running through her mind as she sat in front of her journal. She was trying to jot down the fun things she could do.
Her heart leaped with joy, her eyes curved into a crescent shape with joy and she had a bright smile on her face as she realised what she could do to spend money and keep herself busy.
She would redecorate the house. Afterall, the house was far from homely and if she was going to be Luka's wife, she needed to have a comfortable and homely looking prison as well.
She squealed with excitement like a child, clapping like a child who was about to get cotton candy, as the maid stared at their madam, wondering if everything was okay.
She signalled to the driver that she was ready and they set off to the house decor shop. She set off to make her choices of her redecoration journey.
Meanwhile, Luka was busy making deals and crushing his competitors, not bothering to even think twice about Thersia. He just assumed she would be comfortable and content with her luxurious prison.
Thersia got to the mall and asked the bodyguards to wait outside. She didn't want to enter a mall with scary looking men scrutinising her every move and following her around.
Her excitement was short-lived as she came face to face with the person who made her life miserable than anyone on earth. Her step sister, Lydia.
She couldn't possibly go back and just had to continue her journey. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed Lydia walking towards her with a sinister smile.
"Hello dearest sister, what are you doing in the mall all alone?" Lydia asked, her voice like a candy cotton dripping with venom, her tone was a slow, sweet poison that seeped into Thersia's skin. It made her skin crawl.
Thersia debated if she should even bother replying to her sister or if she should just walk past. She decided to reply to her, to avoid creating a scene that will lead to her being a bad wife.
"Oh, I didn't recognise you, dear sister", Thersia replied, matching her own voice with the same venom as Lydia's.
"I came to purchase some things for the house. I'm about to redecorate my home" Thersia added drily.
" Ohhh, you mean Luka's house?" Lydia asked
Thersia was already stressed out from this little conversation they've had already, and she wanted nothing more.
"No, Lydia, not Luka's house. It's I and Luka's home.. If you'd excuse me, I'll be on my way" Thersia replied drily.
Thersia's response was like a sharp slap to Lydia's face. Her words crackling with defiance and disdain.
Thersia walked past her sister and headed straight into the mall. She shrugged off the negative energy, put on a bright smile and walked into the mall. She looked around and tried to envision every item she saw in her home , but they weren't up to her taste or even Luka's taste.
She was about to call on a sales personnel to help me with the shopping before she almost hit someone.
"Ouch.. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." Thersia stopped.
Standing before her was Lydia again, but this time she was with her minions. The same minions who had fun with her step sister in making her life miserable.
She looked at them cooly, like she was looking at a decayed pile of shit.
"Sorry I hit you. Was a mistake" Thersia said and turned around to walk out.
"I doubt that you're sorry. You seem out of place, this should be the first time you're stepping your foot here, right?" Minion number 1, Mitchelle asked
She wondered if she should even bother replying to someone as irrelevant as minion Mitchelle or if she should actually give her a piece of her mind.
But nah... She wasn't worth her talking strength. She ignored them and moved away to call the sales person for assistance.
One of the sales girls walked up to her instead and greeted her. The sales girl's greeting was a curt nod and hello, her tone devoid of enthusiasm or genuine interest.
Thersia noticed it and decided to ignore the tone and get what she came to buy.
"I would love to redecorate and refurnish my house.. Some parts will be vintage, while some will not" she explained to the girl.
"Okay, follow me and come to this area. You might be able to finally see what you want and save everyone the time" the sales girl replied nonchalantly.
Thersia could sense her hostility and her rudeness, but that was just another fly that she should easily ignore.
She wasn't done selecting before Lydia found her and came to cause problems.
Lydia looked at her hands and some of the product she was holding, with a mocking smile she snatched it off Thersia's hand.
"Hey.. that's mine, give it back Lydia." Thersia said with fire burning in her eyes.
"I've ignored you enough Lydia, don't push me to the wall. You'd regret it. Give it back"
"Why? You probably came here without Luka's knowledge to squander his money and buy things for some chepa bloke waiting for you around the corner" Lydia said, she was taunting her. Her stupid voice was pissing Thersia off and she wanted nothing more than to pull off her tongue.
"Give it back, Lydia" Thersia said, her voice almost like a menacing growl
"No, I will not,you cheap skank" Lydia replied with joy in her voice.
She loved taunting and belittling her. She was better than her in all ramifications, so she couldn't do anything.
"How dare you call my wife a skank?!!" a voice boomed in the mall and they all turned to look at whom the voice came from..
Standing there, in all his male glory. Looking extremely dashing with his suit draped over his shoulder was The Ice King, Luka Thompson and he had the scariest look in his eyes.
