Chapter 3
Violet's POV
Aaron tucked a loose strand behind my ear and replied. "Fine. You will be my Luna.”
My heart fluttered in my chest and I almost did a little happy dance.
Mission Become A Luna was a success.
But…
I blinked, totally confused at what I was looking at.
“Excuse me?”
Aaron put the wooden sword in my hand. “Take this. We're here to train.”
“B - but why do I need training?” I said, staring at him as though I were meeting him for the first time.
“You're my Luna, aren't you?” He asked, swinging the sword from side to side.
“So?” Instinct told me to take a step back.
“All my Luna's train with me.” He moved.
I panicked. “Oh shit!”
If someone had told me a month ago that I would be standing in the middle of a training ring, bruised and covered in sweat, as Luna of the White Moon pack, I would have laughed in their face and called them a loser. Yet, here I was, dodging a punch from Aaron, Alpha of White Moon pack and my ever loving husband.
Being this kind of Luna wasn't what I had expected!
“Trh to make my force without yielding!” Aaron swung his sword and I practically ran for my life.
Several hours of training later and he hadn't broken a sweat while I looked like I had just walked out of a swimming pool.
“You're less pathetic than I thought.” Aaron said, unfazed.
At that time, I considered poisoning his food. “You're way too enthusiastic about making me eat dirt.”
At that moment, he attacked. I barely reacted in time before his fist nearly connected with my jaw.
“Too slow, Luna.” He said with a smirk.
I nearly shoved my sword in his face. “What do you mean! I am moving!”
“If that's what you call moving then you're not moving at all.” He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
I scoffed. “Easy for you to say for someone with muscles that big.”
“Are you admiring me in the middle of battle, Luna?” He smiled.
“Who wouldn't?” I puffed my cheeks.
His dark brown hair was tousled from training, his sharp blue eyes staring intensely at me.
“You're getting cocky, Violet.” He smirked and lunged again.
I yelped, dropping lod just in time. He barely missed me.
“Not cocky.” I corrected, feeling proud that I had just escaped death.
But my joy was short-lived. Aaron moved, the hilt of his sword a few inches from my face. I lost my footing and fell to the grass with a loud thud.
“Feeling less cocky now?” he asked with a smirk.
“No…” I breathed out. “I feel terrible.”
He laughed and extended his hand to me, eating nothing else. “At least you know where you stand.”
At least I know where I stand?
Now, I really feel like poisoning his tea.
That night, I decided to play the stubborn card and take a break and I deserved it.
Training was exhausting and honestly, I was tired of proving myself.
So I snuck off to a nearby bar in neutral territory to unwind with a drink.
And that was a big mistake.
Everything went straight to hell before I could do anything.
The bar was packed so the air was alcohol-soaked, loud with music and the smell of fur mixed with sweat filled my nostrils.
I shouldered through the crowd and found a quiet corner. I was lucky to have found one.
I had just ordered my drink when I felt it.
I sipped my glass, ignoring the predatory gaze that nearly burnt a hole through my skin.
My skin prickled with fear and the hair at the back of my neck stood. That was it. Who was stalking me!
I looked and I wish I hadn't.
Three pairs of eyes, unmistakable glowing red eyes locked on mine and I stiffened.
What was happening?
Why were they here?
Before I could process what was happening, a high pitched ringing echoed in my head.
It was a sound I was familiar with – a call at the moon.
The owner of those eyes had howled.
All three of them at the same damn time!
The howl vibrated in my chest and the worst part was I felt the tug in my chest.
Mate?
Oh hell no.
My three step brothers that hated everything about me, stood by the bar barely reacting to my shock. Their red eyes had only one emotion – absolute possession.
The first one was the most deceptive — soft-looking, pretty even. He had ash-blonde hair and stormy gray eyes. But there was something off about him. He looked like he could hit someone with a smile on his face and still sleep well.
The second one was dark-haired with piercing red eyes and soft wolfish features. His muscles flexed underneath his black leather jacket as if he was ready to pounce. He is the leader of the group. I knew this because power clung to him like a second skin.
The last one was a shade lighter and probably the youngest. He had blonde hair and a dangerous smirk that made my heart skip a beat. He was leaner than the rest but still deadly. He looked like the kind of man who enjoyed playing with his prey before going for the kill.
And the three of them stared at me.
I did what any reasonable person would do.
I ran.
I barely slept that night when I returned to the packhouse.
What the hell was that?
Three mates? I had heard of twin mates but triplets?
That was impossible.
Something wasn't right here.
I turned to the window and caught a glimpse of the red eyes. I shut my eyes immediately, almost quivering in my bed.
I had to tell Aaron.
I pushed back the bedcovers and leapt out of bed.
But as I clutched the doorknob, my heart sank.
Why can't my feet move?
What's stopping me?
My fingers slipped from the door knob and I took a step back. Aaron couldn't know. That night, I ended up not sleeping at all.
I threw myself into training, hoping to forget that night, hoping to get Aaron’s attention and I did. Successfully.
Two weeks passed and I told myself nothing would go wrong.
Not until one day, the door of the council hall opened and he walked in.
