Japan

Mateo

I was an alpha, more precisely a future alpha, and I had to fight a lot with my father, the great alpha Krig, to be able to attend high school in the neighboring city, with the humans. This was because I loved sports and, among them, my greatest passion was ice hockey. My cousins, in Canada, were champions and I thought they were the best.

So, when my cousins told me that there would be an international amateur championship in Japan during the summer holidays in August, we organized to go there and our coach, Will. He had already lived and worked in Tokyo and organized everything. Liam, my younger cousin, always went there with his team too, so we arranged to meet up to enjoy the country and the different culture.

In addition to hockey, I was interested in meeting my mate. For us werewolves, having the chance to find our soulmate was very important and, for an alpha, even more so.

John, my best friend and beta, was also on my team, not that he loved hockey like I did, but he played out of friendship and loyalty to me. We divided our lives like that, he paid attention to the girls and I focused on the sport.

But I had a lot of pressure to find someone who would make me stronger, who would be good for the pack and preferably have alpha blood, as my parents always said.

My mother and father were the ones who dreamed of the perfect luna for me and my Black Wolves pack. Our lineage was all giant black wolves and my father was very proud of it. He took great pleasure in trying to guess what the moon goddess had destined me to be. In his mind, it had to be the daughter of an alpha and the more powerful and traditional the pack, the better. He even considered that I should choose a mate, without having to wait for the predestined one, but my mother intervened. She knew that the goddess would not like that. She insisted that my mate be the predestined one, and only as a last resort, a chosen mate.

There was no point in telling them that the world was changing, many packs no longer participated in dances and annual meetings with other packs, as they preferred to keep their groups strong and united, but since I was an alpha, everything was different. Having a predestined luna would bring the perfect balance to me and make me stronger. That way, the conditions for the entire pack to grow would be much more certain.

Yes, I liked girls, I went out with a few, I kissed a few, but none of them interested me for more than a couple of days. I didn't want to commit to anyone. And even though I was 18, I was still a virgin, but I didn't mind waiting for my partner.

I didn't want anyone to suffer for me or have hope, unless I fell in love with someone, which hadn't happened yet. And my beta loved to console all broken hearts.

I had never been to a nightclub. So I accepted my cousin's invitation to meet him and his friends at a club, more to make contact with him than to have fun. I never dreamed that I would experience a fatal attraction to a girl there who would end up being the forbidden passion of my youth.
