Chapter 5: You shouldn't be here!
The morning light beamed at Aria from her window. She woke up feeling restless memories from last night still haunted her. “I might just be hallucinating! The villager didn't find anything” she tried to console herself. “But it felt real” running her hand through her hair. She looked through her window, her mind pulling her towards the forest.
Pacing round her room debating whether she should go or not. “ Wolfs don't move during daylight, do they?” a question she asked no one particular. She gives in and decides to go at night.
She grabs her lantern and decides to find answers to prove she's not losing her mind. She opened the door and peeped to check if no one was around to avoid questions. The coast was cleared and she set out treading carefully towards the forest. She hasten her steps as she looks back to make sure she isn't being followed.
As she steps into the forest, the air feels heavier with an eerie silence under the dark cold sky. She puts her lantern forward to light the way. “ Why can't I shake off this feeling?” feeling uneasy as she walks deep into the forest. “That wolf.. those eyes..I know them. But how?.” She hesitates at the treeline, pressing her crescent necklace for comfort, her breath uneven and pulse quickening.
Kael was out patrolling as he heard rogue wolves have been on the loose but also to wrap his head round the lady he saw from the other night and why she feels too familiar. “It can't be! She's not her! Or can it be? She's just a human” He debated walking around. His senses heightened as he smelled someone's presence.
Aria walks deeper into the forest, the further she goes, the stronger the feeling of familiarity becomes. Suddenly she heard a low growl before she could react, Keal jumped down the tree, scaring her as the lantern dropped from her hand shining little light on Kael’s muscular body before it switched off. His silver eyes pierce through the darkness intense and unreadable. His presence is overwhelming. Aria stiffen as he approaches, his movement both graceful and possessive.
“You shouldn't be here little human!” His voice deep, laced with warning
Aria, taken aback, she is stiffed by the nickname. Little human! Who does he think he is? “ And why not?” she shoots back crossing her arms despite the fear creeping up her spine.
Kael clenched his jaws, his eyes flickering with something unreadable. Struggling to suppress the instinctual urge to claim her–to protect her. He takes a step closer, sweat builds up on Aria's forehead as she can't feel her legs. There's something about him that makes her feel drawn to him despite the danger. Kael stirs in her eyes as if searching for answers. “I shouldn't be this close. But she –she feels like.. No it's impossible. He thought
Aria noticed how Kael was watching her as he moved closer, inhaling her scent. He's looking at me like he knows me..But I've never seen him before. Have I? She questioned herself.
She smells the same, feels the same,But.. it can't be.
Aria started feeling uneasy with his behaviour blurted out. “Do we know each other?” She demanded
“No!” he lied his voice almost betraying him as he step back
Aria tilts her head as she moves a little towards him despite her instincts warning against it. His finger twitch by the side, his wolf pushing to get closer,he clenched his fist trying to stop himself from reaching for her.
He inhaled sharply,a twig snap in the distance, sensing another presence in the woods. His expression instantly darkening. “Someone else is here” he said scanning the forest. “Leave now!”
Aria face now hot and red replied with an almost shaky voice. “Not until you tell me what's going on!”. The atmosphere now changing as wind starts blowing and the sky turning darker than usual.
“Fuck!” He cursed under his breath and step forward his voice dropping to a near growl. “RUN!!” She fliches at the command but stood her ground “Tell me why first. Who are you? What's going on?” The breeze getting intense every minute, blowing stuff into the sky.
He grips her wrist, his touch burning through her skin. His silver eyes darken as he exhales and his restraint cracked firva second. “LYANNA!”
Her blood ran cold and her heartbeat hammered in her chest ,her vision blur for a split seconds. I know that name..but how? She questioned herself before she question him, the trees were being pulled from the ground by the heavy wind. Kael release her,his entire body tense. “GO!”
Aria stumbles back, her instinct screaming at her to flee. She wanted to hesitate wanting answers but fear wins. She turns and run the sound of Kael’s voice lingering in her mind. Lyanna! That name I've heard it before but where? why does it feel like it belongs to me. Who is he? And why does it feel like I know him. She thought as she runs.
A shadow is seen in the forest, the orchestra of the wind. “It's all coming according to plan…suffer and enjoy a little Alpha it will be the last of your kind!” She whispered and she smirked and mixed with the dying dust of the wind.
**
“Aarrrghh” he screamed kicking the tree and it broke. “Why can't I control myself? What if she isn't her? I should have let her go without saying anything” He barked
His hands trembled, rage and longing fighting inside him as he closes his eyes forcing control.
Aria reaches the safety of the village with ragged breath, her heart hammering against her ribs. She held her chest as she walks quietly with conflicted thoughts to her house.
She lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling as her finger trace her crescent necklace. I should be afraid of him but am not! I need to know what is going on. If he has anything to do with my what's wrong with me. I need to see him again.
