Chapter 0010:A Real And Fake Relationship.

“What do you mean by that?!” Kelvin asked, he was angry at the information he was getting from president Cheng, concerning his relationship with Anne.

Apparently, the bitch has gone to his office and had some talk with him, that's what Jake told him before Cheng called, and now he has to fake a relationship with her for five good months. He's going on about it being good for his story, that the publicity he's going to get will be dope.

But he was angry at Cheng, because he didn't consider the part of telling him all about this, before going ahead to openly declare that he's in a relationship with Anne. He has woken up to see his schedules for the day, one that included taking Anne on a date, a fake date to back up the said rumor going on about them.

“Relax, Xavier. I did everything for your own good.” Cheng said, but Xavier scoffed at his words. He's lucky that they were just speaking on the phone, because he would have had serious issues with him.

He's not his father, he's just a manager and the last thing he will condone is him taking control of his personal life, just like he did the previous years for his own selfish interest.

“No, you did it for your own good, because all you care about is more money that i bring to the company. Pairing me with Anne is stepping out of line, Cheng.” Xavier called him by his name, just for him to know that he's really pissed off about what he did.

“Well, the damage is already done. If you care for your image, so much. You shouldn't have allowed her to give the paparazzi that idea back at the airport, you know Anne. Her popularity will help…”

“cut it off, Cheng. You should call Anne and tell her that whatever date you fixed for us tonight won't hold.” Xavier said lastly, before ending the call without waiting to hear anything else from Cheng, because it was worthless trying to give him a chance to speak.

He has far more important things to do right now, which includes going over the information on J&C company, and he still has to go visit his foster parents. So, waking up to see the stupid post about him and Anne has already ruined his day.

Jake walked into his sitting room, carrying his breakfast while Xavier was too busy and lost in thought to notice that he was here.

But when he raised his head up to notice him, the door to the sitting room was pushed open and in walked Anne carrying lunch boxes.

“Hey babe.” She said excitedly, knowing fully well that by now president Cheng will have told him about the new development between them.

Jake has to excuse himself, while Xavier dropped the document he was holding in his hands when she straddled his lap, to kiss him. “How was your night?” She asked, looking up at a very pissed Xavier.

After their argument that night, he woke up to realize that she left in the middle of the night and regretted saying those words to her. Anne was a great friend, but ever since she started having delusions about them being a real couple, that's when things changed between them.

But it's his fault that he underestimated her, she's a cunny fox who knows what she wants and goes after it. He didn't see the part of her meeting up with Cheng, and complicating their friendship, but what's done has been done.

Xavier grinned at her, which made Anne happy seeing as he wasn't angry at her anymore, like he was the night of the day he came back to the city, only for him to wrap his hand around her neck in a smooth way that gave her the wrong impression, about what he was about to do until she was pushed down to the couch, with him hovering over her.

“Xavier…” She tried talking only to be cut short by him shutting her up by yelling her name.

“Do you want to stop seeing me around you?” Xavier asked her, he left her neck since he didn't want her to take things out of control, and sue him for assault because it's now clear to him that he didn’t know the real Anne.

“I was just trying to put a label on our relationship, Xavier.” She was already shedding petty tears, that's her way of manipulating the others but her tears didn't move him any more.

He didn't say anything but went for her bag and took out her phone, before handing it over to her. “You are going to call your agency and have them get rid of those rumors…”

“I can't.” She was adamant, while being scared of him raising his voice at her. Was she not seeing the red flags that it isn't going to work out between them?

He's not the kind of man she wants to be with.

“Anne, listen to me..” Xavier has to lower his tone, to have a heart to heart with her but she cut his words short as usual, only to say some words that made him see reasons with her.

“Why is it such a bad thing to be with you?” Anne cried, “ i won't cheat on you if that's what you are worried about, I won't intrude in your privacy. I won't make you angry, Xavier. All i want is to be with you, please?”

If anyone was here to see Anne right now, they wouldn't believe that someone as influential like her was begging to be loved, when there are tons of other good men out there that will gladly hop on the proposal, but then it's hard to find true love in this wicked world.

“Anne..” Xavier held her hand, but she hugged him.

“Please, Xavier. Just give me a chance, I promise you wouldn't regret it. I love you so much.” She said, pulling away to look into his unwavering blue eyes that still had doubt.

Anne didn't know who hurt him, but she's not here to repeat the same circle. She loves Xavier, that's all that matters but what she didn't get to ask or understand is what exactly does Xavier want.

Because in as much as Xavier might consider her, because she's being real with him. He doesn't love, and Anne doesn't want to save herself from the heartbreak that will come later on.

“Fine, I will give it a try.” He finally gave into her demand, which made her smile. She has a pretty smile but that's what it's all going to amount to, that their relationship is going to be real and fake at the same time.
