Chapter 110
Scarlett’s POV
His mocking words sent chills down my spine.
After everything that had happened, could I still marry Richard?
I certainly didn't want to... but Richard clearly wasn't going to let me go.
When Camila escorted me away from the Gray family estate, Tom had given me more than just this knife—he had given me a warning.
If I didn't handle this properly, the entire Smith family would perish alongside me.
I didn't care about the Smith family's fate, but I did care whether I would live long enough to see Yvette again.
"Mr. Gray... are you still angry about what happened today?" I raised my eyes but didn't dare to meet Alexander's gaze.
"What do you think?" He picked up the bowl, scooped a spoonful, and brought it to his lips, blowing gently to cool it. "Do you know what happens to people who betray me?"
I remained silent.
"Do you know what's popular in Colombia?" His smile was gentle as he brought the porridge to my lips.
But a cold sweat broke out across my back.
"My little Aunt is exquisite, like a fairy. If you went there, you could earn quite a sum in one night." As he spoke, he gestured for me to open my mouth.
My lips parted slightly. The warm porridge entered, filling my mouth with its rich, savory flavor.
Yet it tasted increasingly bitter as I swallowed.
I managed to eat only half a bowl before feeling full.
Alexander raised his hand and gently wiped my lips with his fingertip. "The next time you dare to pull a knife on me, there are plenty of people who could end you."
With that, he stood and left.
A drop of cold sweat fell heavily from my forehead, and my vision blurred.
Before I could compose myself, Alexander's cold, distant voice reached my ears again. "Rest well these few days. Prepare to board the ship next week."
Startled, I asked, "Board a ship? Where to?"
"Camila didn't tell you?"
For the next few days, Alexander didn't appear. Violet, however, came to see me frequently.
Our shared status as Alexander's "women" meant we could never truly be friends.
Especially given her particular relationship with Alexander.
Violet smiled and said, "Don't look at me like that, as if I might devour you."
Her words made me blush with embarrassment, and I awkwardly turned away.
"Now I understand why Alex treats you differently—you look like her." Violet smiled as she studied me.
I suddenly raised my head. "Her? Who's 'her'?"
The first person who came to mind was Alexander's fiancée, Lillian, but I quickly dismissed that thought.
I had seen Alexander's attitude toward Lillian clearly—he didn't like her, and even lacked basic respect for her.
Every time her name was mentioned, a flash of annoyance would cross his eyes.
"You don't know?" Violet's eyes widened in surprise. "Even Luke knows you look like—"
"Violet, are you tired of having that little mouth of yours?" Alexander's icy voice suddenly interrupted her.
Only then did I notice him pushing open the door and entering. Smoke escaped from his slightly parted lips, hanging in the air.
I couldn't make out his expression, only sensing the dangerous aura emanating from those blue eyes.
Violet immediately stood up, smoothing her dress. "Mr. Gray, I just remembered I have something to take care of. I'll be going now."
Her voice trembled slightly.
As she passed by Alexander, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.
He pulled her close and blew a cloud of smoke directly into her face, causing her to cough uncontrollably.
"How long have you been with me?" he asked coldly, his voice deep and menacing.
Violet immediately fell to her knees. "It was my mistake, I shouldn't have mentioned—"
"Slap yourself," Alexander commanded impatiently, releasing her wrist as he walked to my side, sitting down casually and draping his arm around my waist.
I could smell the tobacco on him. This was our first meeting in five days, and his actions were as nonchalant as ever, yet carried an undeniable danger.
"Alex..." Violet looked at him imploringly, her voice pleading.
"Don't leave until you draw blood," he said flatly.
The sharp sound of a slap suddenly reached my ears, making my heart jump.
"Alex..."
"Want to beg for her?" Alexander tilted his neck slightly, extinguishing his cigarette before carelessly unbuttoning his collar.
His neck and collarbone gradually came into view, followed by his well-trained chest muscles.
Alexander had an excellent physique, with perfectly proportioned muscles—just the right balance of strength and elegance.
"I..." I opened my mouth but couldn't form the words to plead for her.
I understood that Violet had just touched on his taboo subject. Intervening rashly might lead to even more severe consequences.
"Do you want to be slapped too?"
He whispered in my ear, his tone mocking.
I tensed, quickly considering my options.
This might be an opportunity to get Violet to leave.
Fighting through my embarrassment, I gritted my teeth and said, "Alex, make her get out! She's irritating me!"
My voice was sharper than usual, and I deliberately avoided looking at Violet.
"Fine, as you wish."
Alexander bit my earlobe, glancing at Violet, who immediately fled.
Only after hearing the heavy sound of the door closing behind her did my suspended heart slightly relax.
But Alexander's hand quickly pulled me back to reality, his fingers impatiently tracing my spine.
"Distracted even now?" His voice was deep and dangerous.
Five days without seeing him, and he was still the same reckless man—domineering and unreasonable.
"Did you miss me?" His eyes curved into a smile, brimming with affection, looking like an entirely different person from the fierce man of moments ago.
Not daring to overthink, I nodded honestly.
"How much?" The pitch of his voice rose slightly, revealing both languor and displeasure.
He waved the fingers that had been teasing me in front of my face, his intentions obvious.
My face instantly burned.
His directness left me flustered, but the impatience in his eyes was unmistakable.
Taking a deep breath, I reluctantly bit his finger, my tongue gently swirling around it.
Finally, a satisfied smile appeared on Alexander's face.
"Alex~" I called softly, deliberately infusing my voice with sweetness.
