Chapter five

Raven's Pov

"Ma'am would you like me to escort you to your room?"

A sudden feminine voice broke my revere. Immediately I tilted my head towards her in confusion as to what she had just said

"It's getting late, I should escort you to your chamber, the Alpha seems to be occupied with work" the young lady who seems to be a maid says softly with a short bow.

The longer I stare at her the more I felt something strange about her but I just couldn't pinpoint what it was.

" You don't need to worry, I can get there myself" I lied, I was still not used to the big pack house and I've gotten lost few times but for some reason I didn't want her with me.

" I dare not leave you alone especially at this late hour. His highness had strictly ordered me to get you to his chambers immediately" she insists her head still to the ground making it hard for me to see what she looks like

After a short while of hesitation I finally give in and began moving but she quickly rushes to my front to direct the way.

The further we trek into the pack house, the stronger the feeling of a dark force I felt. I could feel the hair on neck rising and my heart beat picking up but my feet still kept on moving, following the strange girl who seems to have grown a bit taller, her head still to the ground with her long black falling to the ground.

My eyes move around, trying to recognize where she was taking me but it was a bit difficult as the light becomes dimmer the further we go

"Wh-where are you taking me ?" I question loudly

"I'm taking you to where you should be" she says, her voice soft but raspy.

"Are you sure we are going the right way, I mean we've been walking for a while now and I haven't seen any room in sight or anyone"

At this point I already knew something was wrong, she was most certainly not leading me to Kael's chamber but somewhere else and I fear it would cost my life but for some reason I seem to not be able to stop moving or run for my dear life, I seem to want to know where we are going, my curiosity is peak at this point.

"It seems you've finally decided not to escape from the truth, it seems you are smarter than I expected"

She suddenly says stopping in her tracks with her head still bowed.

My breath hitches, heart dropping to the pit of my stomach, the feeling of dread consuming me whole.

"You have no idea how much power you wield and how deep you are in the darkness. You are darkness itself" she cackles then disappears into thin air

Finally my legs moves, stumbling backward into a soft embrace.

A loud shriek erupts from my throat, I jump far away to see I had fallen into her. With my heart in my throat, mind reeli g, I adjust my eyes to take a better look at this dark figure.

"Oh my goodness!!" I gasp, moving backwards in fear.

She wasn't human, she had no eyes, nose nor mouth. Her features were rough with black substance dripping from different pores, an abomination.

"You don't deserve such great power, you are nothing but a pest!! I should take it all from you and end you!!" she spits bitterly taking few threatening steps closer to me while I take two scared steps back

"Sta-stay away!! I-I have no idea what you are talking about..." I stutter with shaky breath.

Could this be my last day? Was this how I was going to die? without stopping Darian from destroying our pack and also finding out what the secret was?

"You will get to know everything first, before I happily end you, I need you to chanel out that power, you will have to "

"What makes you think I'll do as you say, you monster!!!" I snap, courage from nowhere sipping inside me.

In a blink of an eye I was raised up against a wall by the throat by an invincible hand while she stood before me now taller than she initially was. She was definitely a demon, something that isn't meant to be in this world.

"You think you can speak back at me?!! you are at my mercy here so I suggest you watch the way you speak to me!!" she seethes, her hold around my neck tightening.

I struggled fruitlessly, my legs kicking, hands clawing at nothing, all I could concentrate on was not loosing consciousness from her choking

"You listen to me. You will do just as I say or I will take everyone and everything you love, destroy it all right before you and let you suffer for the rest of your miserable life!!!" she spits angrily, her hold tightening once again, this time pushing me to the edge of unconsciousness.

"You will get that power out and I will take it from you without any objections!!! I don't care how you have to do it just get it out!!" she yells then releases her hold from my neck, dropping me to the ground like a sack of nothing.

The harsh pain of the fall was taken over by the harsh coughing and immediate swallow of air into my burning lungs.

"I'll see you soon princess" she says with an evil laugh then vanish into thin air.

Quickly I scramble to a corner while still trying to regulate my breathing, my side aching from the harsh fall.

After a short while of catching my breath, I couldn't help but burst out in tears. Frustration creeping unto me like ants, fear clawing at my mind and soul. It all felt so unreal, one minute I was living peacefully with my family, the next I'm thrown into a marriage that has only bought me pain and fear while being at the central of such evil.

I have no idea how long I sat at the corner crying my eyes out but when I finally stop something immediately caught my eyes.

"No Raven, stop! look at where your curiosity has taken you to" I scold myself looking away from the sudden door that appeared from no where.

I sat still my mind still reeling from what had happened but my eyes couldn't stop looking at the slightly opened door with light pouring out from the room.

With a sigh I get up from the ground. There was no way I could ignore it, plus I still have no idea where I am, maybe someone Inside can direct me back.

Slowly and cautiously I move towards the room, my heart beating hard against my chest in fear and alert. I could be walking into another danger, maybe even worse than the first.

As I take a tiny peak Inside the room, my eyes go wide in surprise. Mindlessly I walk in, immediately drawn by the artifacts. Somehow I had discovered the pack house library and it was incredibly beautiful and huge with bright light at each corner, the smell of books invading my nostril giving me a bit of peace and comfort.

But what was strange was the packed up dust and webs. It seems noone has been down here for a long time nor thought to clean it up.

Slowly I move around the room, looking at each books, each unique from the rest.

The image of the woman flashing before my eyes, causing a sharp pain in my stomach and a bitter taste on my tongue. My hands mindlessly caress my neck

Maybe she was right, I do need to uncover the truth, noone seems to want to tell me anything and they seem to enjoy keeping me in the dark. I might as well find out everything myself and look out for myself, I'm done running, I'm done running to someone for protection. I will chanel out whatever power they think I posses and make it mine. I won't seat around and watch them take me and play me like a doll!!

Just then, my eyes stomach upon the pack name, boldly written on a book. Quickly I pull it out and walk towards a table and place the large book on it.

I blew off the dust and webs covering it and could clearly see the pack name written on it, "Obsidian Spire".

My brows furrow in confusion at such books. Slowly I open it up and the first text immediately gave me an idea on what this book was all about.

It was an history book of Obsidian Spire, written history on the past and present , written secrets and truths that shouldn't be told

My heart rate picked up at this. With this book I could know more about the pack and be sure if I can trust kael or be wary of him. I know there are somethings he is hiding from me, things I deserve to know. . Now I can get a bit of idea on what is going on.

Not wasting another second I drop to the chair not caring about the dust or dirt. I immediately dive into the book, each information shocking as the next but not what I was looking for, all was just about battles they had won.

"Where is it!! I know I can find something here!!" I say in frustration, turning each page aggressively without reading.

Finally I stop, dropping my head on the book to take a quick breather with a slight cough. I rose my head, ready to continue my digging.

Just before I could turn the next page, an image caught my eyes causing my eyes to widen in shock and a loud gasp from my mouth.
