Chapter3:~My mysterious friend~

Initially I didn’t want to give this kid my hand. It was obvious he wanted to make me a friend and that was cool. I needed a friend but I needed one with a cool personality and this dude was too mysterious for my liking. He had a lot of things to explain to me about his ways.

The only thing that irritated me about this whipping boy standing before me was that he was fond of coming to me each time those pig ass bullied me. it was as though he had some mystical mirrors through which he saw everything about me. This got me upset and raging.

And the next thing he would say was, “I knew they were going to bully you.”

He always knew what they were about to do and all they did. To an extent I wondered if he was part of them or just a busy-body. The fact still remained that he always knew of their plans to bully me and he never told me ahead of time. That was my fury.

“Sorry about that,” he said and helped me to wipe the sand and dust all over my body. He hummed and added, “I knew they were going to bully you…”

I interrupted, “There you go again. You always knew and yet you keep it to yourself. If you had told me I would have hidden my ass until school dismissed. Now what do you want from a weakling like me?” I nagged, and shot my frowned face at him.

He folded his arms, “I am sorry. Hence forth I will reveal to you their skims and plans so you can escape their bully. You must not get hurt again. I promise you that.”

My frown deepened, “Who the hell are you? Are you a joint of them? Or do you possess some supernatural power?” I queried bitterly, my eyes gleamed and jaw dropped so radically that I wondered if this shit was going to happen again even after his promise.

He grinned briefly, “I am Julius. I just want to be your friend. Perk up. You don’t have to bother. Soon you will know my true identity.”

“Identity?” I asked and lost in my thought.

I was yet to speak when a baby-face, soft-speaking pretty damsel ran to me, calling my name.

“Greg! Greg!

I let my frown cool off and stretched the hem of my shirt to adjust from the looks of a bullied ass.

She was Sasha, a New Yorker and the puller of all the boys at George High. These days she was fond of subscribing to my werewolf sketches. She had told me the other day she loved werewolf and she wished every human being could morph into their favorite wolf.

“I have been on the lookout for you,” she said and turned to Julius, “Hi” she greeted.

Julius winked and rolled his eyes impatiently.

“What happened to you?” she pointed my attention to the dark dust that stained my sleeves shirt when I was being bullied on the ground.

“Oops! Perhaps I didn’t notice it before wearing it,” I lied.

Julius rolled his eyes again to confirm I did.

“Ok,” she stretched out a plain paper to me, “This time I want a wolf with a white fur and scarier dentition than the former.”

“White fur?” I questioned, “I have exhausted my white color palette and I am not interested in replacing it.”

Quickly she fondled out a hundred dollars note and gave to me, “Replace it. I love that werewolf. The previous one you sketched, my little brother destroyed it,” she elucidated and added when I frowned hugely, “Please Greg.”

I fondled the dollar note back into her soft palm. “Keep your money. I will fix it.”

Like I expected she hugged me in appreciation, rubbed my cheeks and backed off to the class.

Julius winked mockingly.

“What?” I snapped, choked back my smile. I thought he wanted to comment about the hug.

“I want to confirm to you this minute that Sasha is your mate,” he said coldly and smiled as though he said nothing.

“Mate?” I asked, looking all surprised and shocked, “What the hell are you talking about?”

At the time Julius held a huge frown and stared into my face with the intention of one seeing something mysterious.

Not satisfied, I asked yet further, “Are we werewolves? For goodness sake we are humans. The fact that I draw werewolves doesn’t make me one.”

He interrupted me with a gentle smile, “Soon I mean soon you are going to find yourself shape-shifting into a radical menacing werewolf, same with Sasha,” he said confidently.

My eyes blinked furiously at him, “What the hell are you talking about? You must be high on cheap drugs to say the impossible. Do you know the impossibility of your words?”

The bell for classes tinged.

“Let’s go for English class. Soon you will understand my revelation,” he said and kept staring in the space, with dark, scary eyes that I would definitely dream of tonight.

Soon we were in the class. Julius sat by me and without hesitation his gaze came upon the band of bullies who sat together at the other edge of the wall.

With his face peered to my ears, he whispered, “You must leave now, Greg.”

“Why?” I asked nervously.

His gaze still on the bullies and his face peering at me again, he whispered, “They have planned to murder you after school. They are not happy seeing you with Sasha. They have planned to stab you severally in the chest and that would be your end. You must leave now, Greg!”

“How? Why? What do you mean?” I asked as fear hung over me. My hands trembled on the desk.

“You must leave now, Greg. Don’t leave with your school bag, else they would know. Walk out freely. They would think you are out to use the toilet or something, then run home. I repeat run home. I will get you your school bag…”
