Chapter 6: Lollipop.

"Watch me." Dua smirked and jumped out of the car, causing Shane to halt the car abruptly. He reversed the car instantly and drove back to Dua who was on the run, stopping the car right in front of her, bringing her to a halt. He rushed out of the car and searched her body worriedly, "are you alright?"

"I'm fine," she freed herself from him.

"No, you can't be. After jumping out of a moving car, you can't be fine," he searched her body this time with his eyes.

"She said she's fine, why are you still worked up?" Steven said, coming out of the car.

"And you," he referred to Dua as he leaned on the car, relaxed and crossed his arms. "If you really want to die, you don't have to go through so much trouble. Just tell me, and I'll put a bullet in your heart." And Dua and Shane glared at him.

"The bridge right?" Shane asked Dua and she nodded.

"Get into the car, I'll take you there," he said.

"No," she objected. "I don't want you to get on his bad side because of me."

"Don't worry, I'm more than just his employee," he assured her and she went into the car with him.

Shane drove back to the bridge and she alighted the car quickly, running to the spot she met Steven, but couldn't find the luggage. She ran the whole bridge but couldn't find her luggage. "It's gone, everything's gone," she panicked.

"What's gone?" Shane asked.

"My luggage, everything's gone," she replied, still searching her surroundings.

"Calm down, and don't worry, we'll get them back." Shane tried to calm her down but it was futile.

"No, I have to get them back now," she continued her search.

Steven watching the whole drama quietly, sighed. He was getting fed up of her. "Come with me now," he said to her.

"Not until I find my luggage," she replied.

He walked to her, held her hand and pulled her with him into the car. Shane followed, and Steven drove to the most elite shopping mall in Mexico. "What are we doing here?" Dua asked.

"Getting your things back." Steven replied, pulling her out of the car.

They walked into the mall and a staff approached them. "Welcome sirs, and ma'am. How may I help you?"

"Ladies wears." Steven replied, and the staff took them to the section for ladies wears.

Steven picked out a dress and sized it on Dua. "This should fit her perfectly, right?" He asked.

"It will, but why are you getting me this?" Dua said but he ignored her and gave the dress to the staff. "Pack up all the wears in this section that matches her physique," he said to the staff and both Dua and the staff's mouth dropped open.

"Yes, sir," the staff replied and got to work.

While the staff was at work, Steven pulled Dua into the shoes section where they met another staff who welcomed them warmly. He picked up a pair of shoes and gave them to Dua, "try this out."

Dua still trying to process the whole thing, couldn't respond. So he made her sit on a chair, took off her shoes and wore the shoes on her. "It fits," he nodded, satisfied.

He took the shoes off her and gave them to the staff, "pack up all the ladies footwears with this size."

"Yes, sir." The staff got to work.

"Is this still real or am I dreaming?" Dua thought.

Steven wore Dua's shoes back on her and took her to the bag section where they met a staff again. "Pack up all the bags here," he ordered.

The staff's eyes widened, "everything?"

"Do you have a problem with that?" Steven gave her an icy look, and she scurried away to her job.

"Even if this is a dream, this is too much." Dua thought.

She turned to Steven and, "hey, are you trying to open a mini mall?" She asked.

"No, they are all yours to use," he replied.

"Added with the ones in the wardrobe at home, I won't be able to wear them all in three years. Are you crazy? How can you waste money like this?!" She yelled.

"Waste money?" He scoffed. "The cost of everything I bought here is like lollipop money to me," he smirked.

"Lollipop money? He's that wealthy?" She thought loudly.

Shane looked at her, wondering why everything about Steven seems new to her. "Is she trying to avoid reality, or is she really not Diane?" He thought.

They went to the cashier to ring up everything and Dua almost fainted after hearing the total price of everything they bought. "No, we'll leave some things," she turned Steven away for them to reduce the goods but he freed himself from her hold. "$10 million, right?" He asked.

"Yes, sir," the cashier replied.

"Add the cost of delivery, and the cost of arranging the items to a wardrobe." Steven said.

"That'll be $10.20 million, sir." The cashier said and Steven handed his credit card to him.

Dua was gobsmacked watching him pay the bill. It was at this moment she hated her life. "I haven't spent $5,000 on myself before, and yet someone just spent $10.20 million on not himself, but someone else. And he even called the money lollipop money." She scoffed at herself.

They left the mall and went home. All through the ride back home, Dua was quiet, thinking hard about her life and crying in her heart that she didn't even realize the moment they arrived home. "Aren't you getting out?" Steven asked her.

"Huh?" She looked lost until her eyes scanned the surrounding and she realized she was home.

As she stepped out of the car she staggered a little. Her legs hurt a bit as a result of her jumping out of the moving car. She went straight to the bedroom and laid in bed without saying a word to anyone. Her sudden quiet mood bothered Steven, but he shrugged it away and headed to his study. He settled in his chair and picked up his pack of cigarettes, taking a smoke.

Shane came in and sat in front of him, looking bothered. "What's wrong?" Steven asked.

"Doesn't she bother you?" Shane asked.

"She doesn't, so don't let her bother you." Steven replied.

"I can't help it, Steve. What if...what if she really isn't Diane? What if she's really someone else?" Shane tried to make Steven reason with him, but all he got was a low laugh. "She's Diane and everything she's doing is an act. Trust me, her family is with her on this, and they're up to no good." Steven said.

"If Bob is trying to kill you to get your position, then he's completely wasting his time and efforts because you can't die, you're immortal... But what if this isn't the case, Steve?"

"It is the case, bro, you're worrying yourself for nothing." Steven chuckled lightly and Shane sighed, "let's just hope it is."
