Chapter 14

Damian jumped on the rogue taking Aaron away, he gave him a deep cut on his chest.

Aaron and his classmates ran off to a corner. Damian shields them.

Minutes later after the blood slash fights. Damian rescued the kids and guarded them up to the pack house.

Getting to the pack house. Damian rushed Aaron into his room to get him treated.

Aaron was the only one who got injured among the kids.

Damian wrapped up his injured arm meticulously.

"How do you feel now?" Damian asked with his eyes on Aaron's injured arm.

"I guess Aila isn't the only lucky one after all. Thank you for coming to our rescue... You're a hero!" Aaron complimented with a bright smile.

Damian laughed as he ruffled Aaron's hair.

"I'm glad you're all safe now. What happened to you? You're the only one who got injured, did you get into a fight with your friends?" Damian asked calmly.

Aaron stared at his arm like he was feeling no pain whatsoever.

"He gave me a cut on my arm cos I stood in the way. I didn't want him harming the other kids and that's why I stood in his way! It was wrong of me, right? If momma finds out I got an injury, she'll be so sad!" Aaron said with his face down.

Damian caressed his back. He wanted to scold him about it but the little kid was only trying to look out for his friends.

"Wow, Aaron, standing up against a wild rogue is very brave of you! I see a young Alpha in you!" Damian complimented and Aaron smiled widely.

"You're good with words!" He said still smiling.

"Well, it was a brave attempt on your part but next time you come across such a situation, you have to let the older ones protect you. You're still very young and have so much to learn! I'm still very proud of you regardless"

Aaron changed seats and sat down next to Damian. He wrapped his arms around Damian's waist.

"You speak so softly is that why I'm comfortable around you?" Aaron asked.

"Doesn't your hand hurt? You're hugging me so tight right now"

Aaron patted his back.

"It doesn't hurt one bit. Damian, tell me a story about yourself. I would love to know more about you" He requested and Damian chuckled.

"Sure but you'll get bored though," Damian said clearing his throat.

"When I was a boy, I tried so hard to follow my father's footsteps. He was a great father and an amazing mentor. I grew up seeing him as the perfect figure of an Alpha. Growing up made me understand some things my father did when I was still a boy. Father was everyone's enemy, everyone in the pack disliked him cos of his authoritative decisions on everyone. He had enemies everywhere both neighboring packs and far away. Father was a betrayer, he was disloyal and very crafty! No one made friends with him cos they knew he was going to take advantage of them someday. His lifestyle made it hard for me to mingle among werewolves my age, unfortunately, he died on my seventeenth birthday" Damian pursed reminiscing on the past.

Aaron broke the hug staring at Damian's face sadly.

"You must have felt so lonely. What about your mother? You didn't say anything about her" He reminded.

"I have never had the feeling of what having a mum felt like. She died a few weeks after she gave birth to me. So you tell me Aaron, how does it feel having both parents by your side?" Damian asked with a smile.

Aaron looked at him a bit confused by his question.

"Momma has been playing both roles in our lives. She's been our mum and our dad at the same time"

Damian's brows raised in surprise.

"What about your Dad? Doesn't he help your mum out looking after Aila and yourself?" He asked curiously.

"Dad? My dad's late, that's what momma said" Aaron informed.

Damian's heart skipped a beat hearing Aaron utter those words.

Aaron pouted staring at him.

"Come on, Damian you still haven't completed your story about how you became an alpha. You stopped at the most interesting part!" He complained.

Damian laughed getting back his voice.

"So tell me, what part do you want to hear?" He asked.

"How did you become the alpha?" Aaron responded in a sing-song.

"Emm... I became the alpha at age seventeen. It wasn't easy ruling but thanks to my skills and leading spirit, I got accepted by everyone"

Damian and Aaron kept the chitchatting till Aaron fell asleep on Damian's lap.

Damian caressed his hair as he watched Aaron sleep.

I'm just hoping your mum can be a little bit truthful to me. It's clear to me now that you're my son. What do I do to get y'all back to live with me? He questioned in his head staring at space.

IRONWOOD PACK...

At the training field.

Nalda threw heavy punches in the air, she did back flips.

She was sweating profusely as she trained her body and mind on the field.

Sophia appeared from nowhere, picking a fight with Nalda.

She gave Nalda an unexpected punch in the belly.

Nalda turned to her aggressively about to punch her then she saw it was Sophia.

She dropped her hands feeling weak and a smile appeared on her lips.

"Sophia!" Nalda called out almost tearing up.

Sophia tightened her face.

"Tighten your fist and punch me back cos if you don't I will have to," She said seriously.

Nalda tried to hug her but Sophia kicked her hard on the belly.

Nalda fell on the grass, holding her belly as she winced silently.

"You've gotten stronger!" she said grinning on the ground.

Sophia tried kicking her again but she stopped seeing how calm Nalda was.

"How could you do this to me?" Sophia burst into tears.

She joined Nalda on the ground.

Nalda sat up and looked around.

She was getting overwhelmed by the whole situation but this might also be a trap on Damian's path.

"It's just you and I. No one knows I was heading here" Sophia clarified seeing the worried look on Nalda's face.

"Does that even matter right now? I thought we were best friends. How could you have done this to me? You ran off for six years and didn't bother reaching out to me. Do you have any idea how happy I was when Asher told me, you were still alive" She added still crying.

Nalda hugged her tight as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry but it's a long story. You saw what Hazel did to me! She tried to end me, luck was on my side and I survived the fall. Sophia, I'm sorry I didn't reach out to you but I knew reaching out to you was like getting in touch with Damian himself. I was way too torn and scattered by everything" Nalda explained still hugging her.

Sophia broke the hug wiping off the tears on Nalda's face.

"I want to hear the truth from you. What the hell did Damian do to you? What sort of contract did you sign with him? Asher and everyone else acted suspiciously six years ago! I couldn't push myself to talk about it cos I thought we lost you for good but seeing you right before my eyes, I can't help but keep wondering why? I get it that Hazel was after your life but she ran off also when she knew Damian knew the truth already. Nalda, what did Damian make you do?" Sophia asked curiously her eyes glistening with tears.

Tears dropped from Nalda's eyes.

"Momma, do you want some water?" Aila asked from the resting hut at the training field.

Sophia turned around quickly and all she could see was a carbon copy of Nalda standing in her pink dress looking so pretty even from afar.

Sophia cried loudly seeing this. She turned back to Nalda.

"Is she your...?" She stuttered in tears.

Nalda nodded smiling and crying at the same time.

She gave Nalda a heavy hug.

"I'm sorry you went through this all by yourself. I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, I wasn't by your side when you needed me the most" She cried hugging Nalda tight.

"It's okay! It wasn't either of our faults" Nalda cried patting her back.

Aila watched the weird movements her mum was making with a stranger. She knows her mum doesn't have any friends so who's she hugging?

Aila left the hut out of curiosity and she walked to Nalda.

"Momma, are you okay?" She asked in her tiny voice.

Her presence broke up the heartfelt hug between two friends.

Sophia sniffed in her tears as she looked away also wiping off the tears on her cheeks.

Nalda turned to Aila with a smile.

"Mummy, have you been crying? Who made you cry?" Aila asked sadly wiping off the tears on her face.

Nalda laughed.

"Don't worry it's not what you're thinking dear. These are tears of joy... Look, momma just reunited with her best friend again. Say hello to Sophia my childhood friend" Nalda introduced with a smile.

Aila turned to Sophia, who was staring at her with tears in her eyes.

"Hello, Aunt Sophia" Aila uttered waving at her and Sophia burst into tears.

She couldn't take all of this in anymore. It felt like a dream to her. She had no idea Nalda was pregnant with Damian's child and no one told her about it. She felt sad and down that she couldn't protect them enough.

Nalda patted her back.

"Momma, why's she crying? Did I say anything wrong?" Aila whispered to her mum.

"Come on, Sophia! Don't give that crying face to the little girl, you might frighten her" she said.

Sophia sniffed in her tears wiping them off her jaw as she forced a smile on.

"Hey, pretty! Who's this pretty girl we have here?" She asked jovially reaching her hand to Aila's.

Aila grabbed her hand and walked closer to her.

"My name's Aila and momma's favorite girl," She said proudly swinging her hair backwards.

Sophia laughed.

"And what if I told you, I'm your momma's favorite girl?"

Aila pouted.

"There's no way you are. Momma can't live without her favorite girl but I haven't seen you before so that makes me momma's favorite girl" Aila argued.

Sophia stared at Aila with sad looks in her eyes.

"Well, that's in the past. I'm not leaving either you or your momma ever again" She said calmly.

"Yeah... Momma just got her friend back. Aunt Sophie, can I sit next to you?" Aila asked politely and Sophia carried her, placing Aila on her thighs.

She hugged her from behind.

Minutes later...

Aila fell asleep in Sophia's arms.

"She's beautiful just like you" Sophia complimented.

Nalda smiled.

"There's something else I would like to share with you" She didn't finish up her statement when a call came in through her phone.

Nalda took out the phone from Aila's pocket.

She took the call.

"Yes, teacher! You still arrived yet?" She asked calmly.

The teacher told her everything that happened on their way back and how Damian rescued them.

Nalda stood up angrily.

"Sophia can you watch over Aila for me! I have to go fetch my son" she said and Sophia's jaw dropped.

"You have a son for Damian also?" She asked picking up her jaw from the floor.

"Twins actually... Aila and Aaron. That's not important right now. I have to fetch him before Damian brainwashes him"

"Aaron's currently with Damian? " Sophia asked.

" Yeah, and that's why I'm about to lose my mind. Aaron can't be spending the night there. He might just end up spilling to Damian that he's got no father"

Sophia stared at Nalda as she panicked.

"Nalda, you can't head out now. Aaron's probably feeling already and it's unsafe for you to roam around when it's still full moon. Let's head out early hours of tomorrow" She advised and Nalda took in a few deep breaths.

MOON SHADOW PACK HOUSE...

Nalda drove down hastily. She barged into the pack house to get her son but the kids left already for the ironwood pack.

"Nalda!" Damian called out when she was about to head out swiftly.

Nalda ignored him.

Damian walked down to her.

"I need a DNA test!" Damian demanded and Nalda turned around in shock.

"What did you just say?"

He moved so closer to her, breathing warm breath on her face.

"I said I need a DNA test with Aila and Aaron! And I also want to accept you as my mate. I'm done running away from my fate, you also knew we were fated.." Damian stated.

Nalda looked at him in shock.

"What!" She uttered in a low tone almost in a while.

"I've always known you were my true mate," He said calmly and Nalda felt weak in her knees.
