Chapter 4

Seeing his groin area, I couldn't stop staring. He eats his Wheaties to have a penis that big. He smirked and definitely checked out my full breasts when he cleared his throat. Despite checking him out first, I was mad he was checking me out without my permission. I was still seated on the log and looking away from Nicolas. My face was red as a beet.

Nicolas lifts me as he stands up. A daring looks on his face, he said, "Come on, Barbie! Race back!" Oh, that's so pompous! I shouted, "Game on!" as I shifted while jumping. Am I competitive? Definitely, with a capital "C".

Running and jumping over him, I thought I'd leave him behind. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Taking the lead, he leapt over me. That's not going to work for me. All in all, it was fun hanging out with someone like me. It was a good time for the wolves too. Besides prancing around, Kiki was competitive, trying to outrun the wolf.

When we shifted back and returned, the field was empty. It was hard to find my friends because they'd left. All members of the team left since neither captain was there.

We found out the game has been moved to tomorrow. As soon as I got into the locker room, I got dressed. It looks like the girls got a ride home again.

In the parking lot, my friends are nowhere to be found. There was still a bus waiting for Nicolas. It looked like the bus driver was irritated by Nicolas' late return.

With a smile on his face, Nicolas walked out of the school. A grin spreads across his face when he walks over to me. He grins back at me when I ask, "Where's your team staying?". He says there's a small hotel in town.

Are you interested in a ride? As I put my hair behind my ear, I sheepishly asked. As he throws his bag into my back seat, he says, "Hold on.". After running over to the bus, he tells them he will catch up with them later.

Seeing the girl's green eyes narrow and flicker, I have a feeling she is glaring at me. "Who does she think she is? She should know better than to stare at me!"

Nicholas jumps into my car, smiling from ear to ear. Then I mention casually to Nicholas, "Nicolas, it looks like you have a jealous girlfriend staring at me." He looks sheepish. "She won't accept that I don't want her as my girlfriend." I shrugged my shoulders like I didn't care.

Though I felt somewhat jealous inside, I did not show it. Nicolas grins at me. Okay, what should we do next? As I take off, he leans back into the seat and puts his hands behind his head. I remind him to fasten his seatbelt.

Having driven downtown, I let my girls know we would eat at Cullies, the local hangout. My girls greet us at the café with big grins on their faces when they see Nicolas and I sitting together.

Throughout the room, I hear whispers of shock that Nicolas had got to sit at the Barbie table. That is one name that I detest. Jeremy appears to be upset when Nicolas sits next to him. When Stacy sees him looking at me, she pouts.

Sheesh Jeremy doesn't take hints from anyone. I'm not interested in him. Nicholas sees me look Jefferies' way and smirks as he whispers in my ear. "Looks like you have someone staring at us, too." I just slap his shoulder softly and laugh. "Yep, same story as yours," I respond. Calling my parents, I inform them of my location. I never want them to be concerned about me.

I had a blast at Cullies, and we teased Nicolas about his team and how we were going to win. We asked him questions about his high school. When will he graduate, how old is he be, and will he go to college?

The girls seem to want to know if he has cute friends. Rather than answering, he smiles and shrugs.

Our car was in the parking lot when we left. Seeing him, I sighed and whispered: "You never answered the girls' questions about cute friends.".

Most of my friends won't date humans because they smell weird to us." We can't tell them who we really are." I drive him to the hotel and drop him off after exchanging cell phone numbers. After I wave goodbye, I start driving away. I guess you can't blame them. I never dated humans because I didn't want my secret to be found out.

  • Nicolas-

As Alexi drives off, my eyes follow her. There's something about her that I like. She must have had a real pack, right? How did she end up here? I don't understand why she's here, who left her? I'm goanna call around and see what's up.

When I turn around, there's Samantha (Samantha) looking angry as can be. Nicholas, what were you doing with her?" she yells. "It's none of your business, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend." I walk past her through the doors and up to my room.

There's nothing better than hanging out with the guys. They're howling and whistling as I walk in. Oh yeah, saw you take off with the Hot Captain of the Falcons. There was one guy who yelled at me.

Shrugging, I didn't answer. Her topic shouldn't be discussed among my friends because she's special to me.

Laying down on my bed, I stared at the ceiling. Maybe I'll send her a text. Then I thought she was probably eating dinner with her parents.

She wanted some information from them. It's just a matter of waiting. Additionally, I don't want to seem desperate and stalky.

Alexi - The wooden steps lead up to my front door, which I open. My mouth is watering as I smell lasagna cooking. I heard my mom yell at me to set the table. As I walk in, I grab the plates from the cabinets and the utensils from the drawers. The dining room table is set. I grabbed some napkins. Feeling nervous because I'm going to ask them about myself tonight.

The food is put out by my mother with my help. Mother carries out the lasagna, and I carry out honey buns and salad.

After today's extraneous activities, my stomach is grumbling. There was a strawberry banana shake at Cullies, but I didn't eat. It's no secret that I'm a wolf. There's no end to our appetites.

My parents have always wondered how I can eat so much and not gain weight. I still eat more than the average person, even though I'm super into sports.

After dinner, we clear the plates and then come back for dessert. We laugh as we talk about our day.

There's something different about this evening because of the topic. It's obvious to my parents that I'm nervous. Mom has green eyes and dad has gray eyes. They both have dark hair. Like my wolf, I have blonde-gold hair and sapphire blue eyes.

Looking down, I tucked my hair behind my ear so I wouldn't see their hurt eyes. My parents seem confused when I ask, "Who am I?"

"What do you mean by who I am?" my dad asked.

"Mom, Dad, I know you're not my biological parents." I speak. You have dark hair and gray eyes, dad. You have dark hair and green eyes, mom.

Both of you have olive skin tones. The color of my skin is ivory, the color of my hair is golden blonde, and the color of my eyes is sapphire. Could you please tell me? "I'm begging you." I hear my mom sigh. I look up and see her conflicting emotions.

We knew this day would come. We just didn't know how to tell you. We looked at you as our own, as if you were biologically ours. We didn't want you to believe anything else. Please accept my apologies for being selfish. We don't even know what your birthday is. Since you were an infant, and it was October, we're assuming you were born in September. Under a month old, I'd guess. A baby was crying on the street curb as I was parking. Your Moses basket was covered in a pretty pink and gold blanket. A note was in the basket saying, take care of our Princess Alexi. Since your mom and I can't have kids, we've been visiting orphanages all the time. It was like a miracle when you came into our lives. We didn't know why or where you came from. The only thing I remember about you was that your name was Alexi, and you were wearing a gold necklace with a princess wolf on it. As I picked up your basket, I saw you cooing and promised the Heavens above we'd take care of you. Unfortunately, we couldn't find your biological parents. Finally, we could legally adopt you."

When I looked at them, I asked if the blanket, basket, and necklace were still there. The items were in her hands when she returned from the attic.

When I asked her if I could keep them, she said yes. Nodding her head, she smiled sadly. I hugged them both and thanked them for telling me the truth. I told them I loved them so much and would always be there for them.

My stomach growls and my parents laugh as my mom brings me Cherry Cheesecake. Whenever I go to learn more about my kind, I'm goanna miss this. I still haven't left, and I'm homesick.

Telling them I might have to leave would be hard, right?
