Chapter 7
Alpha Murphy rushed out of the coffee shop. He immediately got into his car and drove off.
"That was our mate. Go get her." His wolf, Jack said.
"Anybody, but her. We can't be together." Alpha Murphy said.
"I want our mate." Jack protested, but Alpha Murphy ignored it and drove away.
"Mate!" Sassy heard Sage's voice say, excitedly.
"What?" She said aloud and everyone stared at her.
She smiled awkwardly and walked out of the coffee shop.
"He's our mate. We finally found him." Sage said.
"Found who? What are you talking about? Murphy? No way." She said.
"You both already have the mate bond and he needs to mark you," Sage said.
"Mark who? That's not gonna happen. It can't be him." Sassy said.
"Is there no any other way I could.."
"Sassy, are you okay? You've been acting strange since the Alpha came." Delight said, behind her.
Sassy turned to face Delight, with a distressed look on her face.
"He is my mate." She said and Delight covered her mouth with her hands.
"No way....you're going to be the Luna. I'm so happy for you." She said excitedly.
"No. I don't want him."'
"What do you mean you don't want him? You've been waiting for your mate all this time." Delight said, confusion written all over her.
"I have known Murphy since childhood. He was a mean bully back then in high school. We hate ourselves. We can't be together, it is impossible." Sassy said.
"But the moon Goddess wants you both together, she can't make mistakes. You guys should be able to fix things." Delight advised.
"You don't understand. We can't fix anything. We're enemies. Look at the mess he created, he was here today to cause trouble. He didn't even pay for the coffee and now I have to pay for it and also for the glass he broke." Sassy said. It was obvious she hated Alpha Murphy so much.
"So, what do you plan on doing? Are you going to reject him?" Delight asked.
"Of course I will."
"And then you'd live without a mate. Remember all the plans you've made. If you don't have a mate, how are you going to make them all come to pass? Please have a rethink. Everyone wants to be the Luna and you have it on a platter of gold. Do not throw it away." Delight said and walked back to the coffee shop.
Sassy stood outside for a while, wondering why her life was a complete mess.
Alpha Murphy sat on his bed, looking troubled. His wolf wasn't getting any tired as it kept forcing him to go get their mate.
He needed something to get his mind off the fact that the stupid blonde girl was his mate. How would she even guide the pack?
He picked up his phone and called Megan, his girlfriend.
Megan didn't waste any time in coming over. She was in love with Alpha Murphy and wanted to be his Luna. He promised to make her his Luna.
Megan walked in to see Alpha Murphy lying down distraught on the bed.
She climbed on him and placed kisses on his bare chest.
"You sent for me, Alpha. Here I am. Is there something I could help you with?" She asked and continued kissing his chest.
Alpha Murphy groaned and pulled her up.
"I found my mate." He announced.
Megan immediately stopped in her tracks.
"Who is she?" She asked.
"Sassy, the Blondie." He said and Megan laughed.
"That weird thing. You rejected her, right?" Megan asked.
"No." Alpha Murphy said and Megan's smile changed to a frown.
"Why?"
"It was so sudden. I couldn't even think, but of course, I'm going to reject her. I'd be ashamed to even have her by my side." Alpha Murphy said and Megan smiled again.
Alpha Murphy kissed her and she pulled him in for a more passionate kiss, and soon their clothes were flying off...
Sassy was in her room in the orphanage, she was trying to calculate all her earnings. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach.
And soon, she felt another...and another.
It felt as if someone was dealing heavy blows to her. She raised her shirt, and her stomach looked bluish-purple as if she had been beaten up.
The pain reduced for a while and then it came back again, even more intense than the first.
"Sage... W.. what is happening?" She asked as she began to cough out blood.
There was no reply from Sage. It was as if she wasn't even there.
"Sage?" Sassy called again, she could only feel her presence faintly.
"Our mate is causing us a lot of pain," Sage said. Sassy could barely even hear her.
"How do you mean?" She asked and Sage was quiet again.
"Ahhh!" Sassy screamed and managed to stifle her scream.
She was sweating profusely and she sat down by the side of the bed, holding her tummy and wishing for the pain to go away.
"Sage! What is Murphy doing to me?" She asked.
"Our mate is mating with another werewolf," Sage said.
"How's that my business what he's doing? Why am I the one feeling this wrenching pain?" Sassy cried.
"The same thing would happen to our mate If you mate with someone else," Sage said.
"But, why am I just feeling this pain? I never felt it before." Sassy said, beginning to feel weak.
"You both just recognized your mate bond today. From now onwards, whenever your mate is mating with another she-wolf, we will pass through this pain." Sage said.
Sassy still sat crumpled on the floor. That was the only position, she felt she could stay in. Sometimes, the pain stops and sometimes it becomes more intense, she puts a cloth in her mouth to stop herself from screaming.
After about two hours of torture, the pain finally stopped. But as soon as she got up, she felt a painful feeling in her stomach. Even if she didn't feel those pounding pains anymore, she still felt a lot of pain.
She got up and tried to go to the bathroom for a shower, but as soon as she got to the bathroom door, she felt the ground give way and she fell to the floor and passed out
The pain was just too much and unbearable.
