Chapter 9
Beta Hogan drove Alpha Murphy to Joy's Delight Coffee shop.
The car was parked a few meters away from the shop.
Alpha Murphy was trying to satisfy his wolf's demand to see their mate.
His wolf was finally calm as he saw her.
"Okay...so are you going to speak to her?" Beta Hogan asked.
"I just want to see if she's doing good, and it's obvious she is." Alpha Murphy said.
"Well, a greeting won't hurt. Let her know you care."
"That's the point, I don't care. Why the hell am I even here?" He said and rolled his eyes.
"Well, she's your mate, not mine." Beta Hogan said and started the car.
"I never said we could go." Alpha Murphy said and Beta Hogan turned off the car.
Sassy felt her wolf getting excited again. There was a lot she needed to know about her wolf because she didn't understand her excitement.
"What is it this time, Sage?" She asked.
"Mate!" Sage said.
Sassy became quiet and she felt a kind of warmth around her. Her mate was nearby.
She washed her hands and walked to one of the windows to check, as he wasn't in the coffee shop.
She searched with her eyes for a while, before she finally spotted the car parked at the other end of the road.
"Bastard." She cursed under her breath.
She walked back to the counter, where Delight was waiting for her.
"So, what is it?" Delight asked.
"Murphy's car is parked outside," Sassy replied.
"Why isn't he coming in? I think he wants to see you. Is he shy? Awwn, you both are so sweet." Delight said, blushing.
"You're crazy," Sassy said though she wondered why he didn't come in.
Was he really there to see her?
She looked through the window again and the car was still there.
"If he doesn't want to meet you, why don't you go meet him?" Delight suggested.
"Are you kidding me? Of course, I won't. Someone needs to tell that cock to leave our lawn. I don't care if he's the Alpha or not." Sassy said and scoffed.
"I'll go talk to him for you." Delight said. She winked at Sassy and walked out of the shop to meet Alpha Murphy.
"Why is she coming here?"Beta Hogan asked on seeing Delight walking towards the car.
"I have absolutely no idea." Alpha Murphy replied.
"Do you think Sassy sent her to you?" Beta Hogan asked.
"I doubt it. But, I think she's quite pretty." Alpha Murphy said with a lustful look in his eyes and Beta Hogan only shook his head in amusement.
"Hello, Alpha. Hello, Beta." Delight said, on getting to the car.
Beta Hogan only gave her a quick smile. But, Alpha Murphy looked excited to talk to her.
"Why, hello dear." He said, flashing his Mr Cute smile.
"Welcome to Joy's Delight. Delight said.
"Thanks." Alpha Murphy replied.
Delight's cheek flushed as she leaned in and whispered.
"Are you here to see your mate, Sassy?" She asked and Alpha Murphy chuckled.
"Does she want to see me?" He asked.
"No, she doesn't. She's mad at you." Delight said and Alpha Murphy chuckled again.
"Has she seen me yet? Does she know I'm here?"
"Yes, she does. She is your mate, so she naturally feels your presence whenever you're near." Delight said.
"Oh...I see." Alpha Murphy said, nodding.
"Are you sure you won't come in for a glass or two? We've upgraded our menu, you could come to see it." Delight said.
"Well, how about I eat you for dessert?" Alpha Murphy flirted and Delight blushed.
"You know that's not gonna happen." She said, laughing awkwardly.
"I'm the Alpha of the pack. I make the rules." Alpha Murphy said.
Beta Hogan could only stare without saying anything.
Delight was in a really awkward position now, so she looked for an excuse to leave.
"I..um...I have to go. Sassy would need my help."
"That's quite sad, I was enjoying the conversation." Alpha Murphy said.
Delight gave him a fake smile and walked away, wondering what had just happened.
Beta Hogan turned to Alpha Murphy.
"What was that for?"
"Stay out of my business, Beta." Alpha Murphy replied and Beta Hogan shook his head again.
"Your mate is right there, and you're flirting with the next she-wolf you see."
"Who cares about my mate? I never wanted her. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with what I did." Alpha Murphy said.
"Okay, whatever you say." Beta Hogan said and shrugged.
"Keep an eye on her." Alpha Murphy said.
"On who? Sassy?" Beta Hogan asked, wanting to be sure he wasn't talking about Delight.
"Of course, Sassy, my mate. I know no one would want her, but just to be safe, make sure no one comes close to her. Okay?"
"Okay." Beta Hogan said.
"Now, drive." Alpha Murphy said.
Beta Hogan heaved a sigh of relief as he started the car.
Sassy was still at the counter where Delight had left her initially. Delight walked in, with her face completely flushed. Sassy immediately guessed what happened.
"He flirted with you, right?" She asked, laughing.
"I'm sorry, I hope you're not jealous or something. I left as soon as he started it." Delight said.
"Of course, I'm not jealous. I really don't care about whatever he does. Even if it's with you."
"But he's your mate. How can you not be jealous?" Delight asked and Sassy rolled her eyes.
"Delight, I have said this a million times. I don't wanna be with him." Sassy said.
"So, why didn't you walk up to him and just reject him straight up? You don't need to keep delaying things." Delight said.
"I have got better things to do other than thinking of doing that. As long as I don't let him mark me, I think I'm good. I'll definitely reject him." Sassy said though the words sounded stupid.
Delight shrugged and went to attend to a customer who had just walked in.
