Really enjoyed this book, love the relationship between Kairen & Cassandra, she was never really a concubine to him, she was always more than that. Kind of wish the author had acknowledged that part way through and stopped calling her his Concubine.

Just a little curious, it says Concubine Kareen has “dark red hair” when we first meet her but in the market in chapter 38 it say her “hair is still a deep black without an ounce of grey yet”.... so which is it?

I was really sucked in the story. My son woke me up after a nap and I somehow answer him as if I was in that story myself. It's a really good one! It's good that it ended tho if this was kept going I wouldn't stopped reading. All my attention was at this story and if neglected everything around me.

09/04/2023 08:13I love this book!!!! I think Jenny does such a good job and I’m reading her other books now for points!! I also think it says a lot as a author when she writes for straight people and the LGBT community! Even if it’s not my taste, I have a lot of respect for her doing that!

Cassandra learnt her medicine from her dad who was the chief of her tribe and then a few chapters later, her dad died when she was 2/3? and he was the chief architect in her tribe. it's possible for him to be both but did she learn medicine by 3 years old? That's quite a stretch.
