Oh my gosh! I loved this chapter! I mean, it's absolutely heartbreaking what he went through, but the dynamic between Cessi and Ashen.... the love and devotion between not just their younger selves, but now as well 🥰🥰🥰 And actually not just between Cessi and Ashen, but also between her family and Ashen. It seems like Kairen sending Ashen back to the Eastern Kingdom was because of more than just Cessi and Ashen getting caught together by her brother like we thought before. I think Kairen felt Ashen was ready to go back and take out his father and clean up his kingdom. I'm sure he also wanted Ashen to go before things got too serious between him and Cessi to help keep Cessi safe while Ashen was cleaning up the kingdom, but I think he also had faith in and believed in Ashen that he was ready and could do it, even if Ashen didn't believe in himself.

hold on , no girls had dragons in TWGF. they were born with their dragons inside them allowing for special abilities AKA shareen and her fire breathing. the only girls who had dragons now were the daughters of Cassandra. Tessa - same age- her father has a dragon she does not. jisel mom was from the empire - so she could have some magic abilities but there she be no way she has a dragon. the second brothers dragon died so we know she is not controlling that one

Jisel showing up and pointing out that the singing could cause possible death.......then a talent of sword play......and the sharp prick to the princess hand that cause her pain during the sword fight. Hmm....this was a trap! Feels like Jisel who is or was a loyal pet sending a warning to Ashton. Jisel is the puppet master. Knows more than anyone thinks. Her arrival and behavior is mild but also triggered the challenge even if it's supposed to show case the contenders talent. I wonder why the dragon blood didn't push that shard out of the princess hand like everything else. Could this be a danger to all dragon blood?
