So much suspense. I feel like Jisel made the dragon daughter comment to make Cessi question herself. Cessi is strong and has her own allies and family. She doesn't need Jisel, Jisel needs her. Making Cessi doubt her unique dragon master abilities is a way to make her think that she needs Jisel.

I think that grimase was because of all of the blood, maybe Cessi was already being drawn into that memory and the injury to her throat just sealed the deal. There's no way that this can end well for anyone. Even if Ashen stops the match Cessi will be deavastated because of what almost happened not to mention the Yekara will be smug as ever. However Istis might be gaining some newfound respect for her or hate, take your pick ... provided she lives that is.
